@satirical mixed kid It's probably just them trying to cut in a little reference. I mean, if your film is about a game but in a different direction, you might as well throw tiny references of the game.
This movie has become a guilty pleasure; while it failed horribly to capture the adventure, suspense, and comedy of the games, Holland and Marky Mark had good chemistry with each other that made me enjoy them.
I think that's fair. The games are just TOO good. The 4th one especially is legit cinematic with depth and character growth etc. But I do hope they make more of these, maybe recast. They should do what they did with TLOU on HBO, and more or less hand over creative control to the people at Naughty Dog who made the game.
Even tho the movie was a dissappointment, Tom Holland did great acting for his part. Pretty crazy the youngest actor with so less experience did a better job than Mark Whalberg who throughout the movie seemed disinterested playing Sully yet still did for the paycheck.
@@chief5604 No, not exactly. Mark wasn’t exactly an ideal choice for Sully. You could tell Mark wasn’t having fun with the film as opposed to Tom. I watched this movie with the eyes of somebody who has played these games since they started coming out and even though they change some things around with the story I really like how they were able to incorporate parts that actually happened in the games (the airplane scene from Unch. 3, the auction in this scene from Unch. 4, etc.) without just outright copying the plot of the games. It almost felt like a new story but still felt very familiar. Very well done in my opinion. Also I feel like really nobody can argue that the action scenes in this movie are filmed and directed in a really engaging way.
Agree! I love the games a lot and I think it's really cool that they kept some similar things. For example that Chloe was a part of the movie or the thing with Sam and the ring :)
@@PredatorH2O Isn't this just the four games combined, so not really a new story. Okay. I can appreciate the actors, and their abilities. Tom can indeed fit the young version of Nathan(like in the game) and Mark can pass for a younger Victor. What I can’t get past is the story (based off of the games)because (if your going by the game) everyone is older then, they could’ve made up a whole new story from when they were both younger and played that out, I probably would’ve enjoyed it a ton more because we didn’t get to see much of his younger years, so it would’ve passed. ANYWAY I stand by that Nathan Fillion would’ve made a better Nathan Drake (he’s literally Nathan Drakes persona in every movie and series he’s ever been in, even in an Uncharted short with him AS N.D.) He’s older now, but I bet could still pull it off, he even sounds similar to N.D. Even Victor could’ve been played by J.K. Simmons!
