If you look at the movie that way, it’s not as fun, although I get what you’re saying. Once you accept that a lot of the action scenes aren’t really all that possible, it a really fun and exciting movie.
I’ll give Tom Holland credit on giving a different American accent to the Peter his used too. That “oh come on” when he got hit by a car was delivered pretty good

Watching this movie in theaters was an absolute blast!
Brilliant action scene that's a beautiful homage to Uncharted 3, but there's problems(not the physics) that if fixed, could have made this scene much better;
1. Moncada was killed too soon, since he barley had any screen time with the main heroes and this makes his earlier scenes pointless. Instead, have him order Braddock and Scotsman to kill Chloe since they have what they need.
2. Braddock having supposedly killed Sam felt very tacked on. Instead, flesh out her character more or have her be intimidating and funny like the Scotsman.
3. Instead of Nate stupidly facing the goons head on, make it where he puts his life and getting the treasure at risk to save Chloe, who is about to be killed and because of this, Sully gets ejected from the plane with the map, supposedly costing Nate the treasure. Thus Chloe would finally trust Nate fully. Also, have Moncada cause Nate to fall out of the plane and then Chloe pushes a parachute crate out of the plane with her on it to save Nate, even though she could have chosen an easier way to escape, thus showing her selflessness and growth as a character.
Tom Holland sucks as Nate and also Braddock is a fake character. No woman can beat up fully grown men.
I will give props to this.

It's based of a video game where the physics make no sense either... so cut the movie some slack on that department. I was never meant to make sense XD

In the game Nathan survives a bunch of gun fire the plane exploding and himself hitting the cargo crate and still has the strength to pull the parachute. It’s based off a video game I’m not to concerned about it being realistic.
So this is all real no CGI on any of the characters. All the actors did there own stunts the cargo is real the only CGi is the background and the plane. The car is even real. Chloe’s dive off the car is real the actor actually did that. It’s pretty impressive how they did this scene.

@@jckoibra2662 no they shot this infront of a blue screen the actors were on cables and the cargo crates and the car were attached to gimbals so they could move. The actors would jump in the air and move around on the cargo and the car but it was actually the actors physically jumping around and through the air on cables. Look up Uncharted movie plane sequence behind the scenes and you’ll see.

No they really didn't. The game does it in so much better in every way. The cinematography in the game, The music was epic. The music was like John Williams mixed with Han Zimmer. This just didn't have the same original feel like the game did.

Despite all the complaints the film gets, the one take-shot when he falls out of the plane and catches up to the falling car etc. you can tell the animators really did their homework with the games and really captured Nathan Drake here in the way he moves. The VFX techniques look similar to what they used for the film Gravity when the shuttle gets hit in space. Except here is more complicated cause they don't have the astronaut suits, so rotoscoping/green screen in this scene takes a hit, cause the lighting is not the quality like Gravity. Gravity used led lights/holodeck like set to light the actors. Here it looked like they only had budget to film on a green screen for actors. Otherwise the way the CG blends with live action movements is actually pretty well done. It just suffers cause of lighting and the concept of Nathan Drake still being conscious while taking these impacts. The games at least still have him pass out or show him getting injured and taking the blow in a more realistic capacity. A recent movie that seamlessly blends cg with live action is 1917 and here these techniques are better cause of a good cinematographer, Roger Deakins and also better directing, showing protagonist really getting injured, gritty and taking major blows. Nathan Drake in this remains shiny and clean/stale look, he should be sweating... lighting and exposure should be way more harsh/dark instead of uniform. Other than these issues, the movement/animation, how it blends to the green screen elements ( if you eliminate the lighting) is actually quite seamless, looks like a lot of previs to get this shot to work.

That’s fair I felt the middle slowed down and was a little boring. People hated Marks character as Sully but I didn’t hate it we have to remember they are there younger selfs here Mark had some funny moments I liked. The flying ship sequence was fun.

As a frequent skydiver (not professional) as entertaining as this is it just takes the immersion out. So much of this is instant fatality/arms ripping off at that speed. I get it’s a movie and a game that are both very entertaining but I get sucked out at moments like this.

I know it's already been said how dumb this is but I can't get past it... Why on God's green earth are they having a conversation on a car in mid-air? Like I'm not expecting it to be exactly like the game, but at least make the scenario plausible. Like even if he landed on the car they should be freaking out for dear life. Way too relaxed.
