- The 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS roadster is taking the Italian supercar brand into the next generation. While it may be the Prancing Horse's entry-level model, it still puts a massive emphasis on performance - but it doesn't do so in the usual way. Case in point, you won't find a high-revving V8 under its bonnet.
Instead, the 296 heads in a very different direction with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6. But there's more: in a sign of the times, it forms part of a plug-in hybrid powertrain. While PHEVs aren't exactly new to Ferrari, they're now proliferating into the 'mainstream', having been the preserve of its hypercar flagship.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gets behind the wheel of the Ferrari 296 GTS to find out if it's a better supercar for being powered by a V6 PHEV set-up. After all, it's certainly not short of power, with up to 610kW of combined grunt available.

Ahhhh another PHEV for the masses...
You can buy this, or a second house!
My favorite ferrari.
Why haven't other manufacturers copied the yellow tacho ?😅
Australian’s need to boycott these frankly absurd prices we are charged for cars compared to the rest of the World.
I read your post and walked out of the dealer, thanks.😅
It’s because of the tax to protect local car builders.
A waste of a youtube video - totally irrelevant vehicle except to motoring journalists and the mega rich.
It’s a car Guide it just telling what it is 😂. “Waste of video” is just to funny 😂
