- Ferrari has injected some special Maranello magic into this V6 hybrid drop-top
Ferrari has unleashed a new convertible supercar in Australia with the new 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS.
Combining a cracking turbo-petrol V6 with an electric motor, the plug-in hybrid 296 GTS delivers otherworldly performance both on paper and in the real world.
But is also poses a very first-world conundrum for well-heeled buyers: would you own it instead of the existing 296 GTB Coupe equivalent?
We sent Sam Charlwood to find out.

Thank you for a great review.
Great review Sam the only thing I'd change is the driver - me! If only.
You never know you're luck. One day you might drive one.
Opinion only. This somehow looks better than the SF90.
Agreed, the 296 GTS does look better.
Yes we agree too.
Sf90 looks more aggressive and performance focused while 296 looks more modern classic and heritage oriented in my humble opinion.
I'd sell my house if I could buy a Farrari. But then I'd have to live in the car. Fantastic car. Love IT 😍😍😍
Holy moly 610KW!
Enjoyable review. The Ferrari 296 GTS is fantastic, but if I could I properly go for a McLaren 750S (as a coupe), thereby skipping the electrics and being entertained by a fast and furious V8 turbo engine (whilst one can). :)
Its summer but all looks so green.
Very rainy Spring time.
Normally driving a car requires both hands on the steering wheel. Or at least one.
Thanks dad.
What is this model's exterior color?
We'll ask Sam but it seems there's five main reds available: Rosso Mugello, Rosso Corsa, Rosso Imola, Rosso Scuderia and Rosso Ferrari F1-75 (matte). That's a lot of reds.
@@carsales My guess would be Rosso Imola. A lot of the 296 press cars wear this shade. Looks darker than Corsa but lighter than Mugello, and definitely not the bright red Scuderia. Hard to tell on the screen sometimes due to the camera and the lighting, etc., but that would be my guess. All red Ferraris are beautiful though, and the 296 GTS is just stunning in my eyes. Great video!
The old Minnamurra bends!!! ..sadly a dead end road now
1st😂😂😂
V6 in a Ferrari? Get rid of the battery, put some super capacitors in it, and give us a v8 5.0 naturally aspirated engine.
Said by someone who doesn't even own a car.
if buy this then you're the dormat. this is not spider or roma. do you really wanna spend all your work on some dummy car?
Cars like these put more burden on earth..to manufacture these and to drive these...they use immense resources..but they do also give u intense orgams😂
