Fun fact: the damage markers from when Nate is getting shot is actually his luck running out. When it reaches completely gray screen does he actually take a fatal hit
@@enriquecolon1150 I’m pretty sure the devs did mention it a couple times when discussing game design, but yeah. It’s part of the Drake Fortune if ya know what I mean

This is actually what I try to convey to people who don't quite 'get' how characters in games can keep taking a bunch of otherwise lethal damage. I tell them the visual aspect of the bullet hitting you and your health lowering is an abstraction. Within the logic of the game's world itself, that character isn't getting shot, it's more like 'close calls' and when you run out of health, well, you took a bullet. Games that put bullet decals all over your body are fuckin' annoying, though, because now it becomes less of an abstraction and now your character is just casually walking around with multiple clearly visible bullet wounds. Rockstar's games are especially guilty of this.

Can’t believe it’s 5 years already. Uncharted 4 still holds the most beautiful game I’ve ever seen. I miss Nate, Elena, Sully, Sam and everybody else :((
I've been saying this when they've posted the first cross-over video. MGS3 is a gold mine of stuff for basically all of their experts to react: combat and stealth tactics (spec ops), CQC encounters (martial arts), self-treatment in the jungle (er doctor) survival in the jungle (survival expert), The End boss battle (sniper) etc.
The funny thing is, the marines and navy go through simulated training where they dunk you underwater in a mock up of a chinook helicopter and you have to take the seatbelt of yourself and find the way out and to the surface. I wish they got to play it and see how the Nadine fights were actually on rails and how you as the player were handicapped... It's obvious now that he never wanted to actually hurt her... He only does something if he's absolutely forced to, otherwise there's no point to putting it on rails. He's a noble gentleman and expresses it every time he's at odds with her. He's constantly trying to defuse the situation and even chooses to try and hold her wrists to restrain her rather than wail on her or uppercut her. At first, I hated it but then I thought about how much that fits his character. I do wish however he fought her on the boat at the end and showed her his full potential. I stand by that he would've owned her had he went all out.
@@keyseronthewire2575 The first time he fought her I can buy that. Nate is rusty, Nadine is a martial artist and he's a brawler so yeah he could lose. But 2v1??? Against the fucking drake brothers of all things. NO I don't care how skilled you are you will always lose a 2v1. And you can't even use the "he don't want to hurt her" because Nate knows her men will be there soon so he either beat her up and run away or get shot. That fight was a fucking joke, they just wanted Nadine to be that strong and independent woman that can kick ass. You would NEVER win a 2v1. Neil says Nadine was originally a guy and he originally had a son... Which would've made it more realistic if he were actually full blown fighting as men are biologically stronger than women. Having a son would also further seperate the potential future character from being like Lara Croft. Nadine is the only thing I really don't like about Uncharted 4. At least she was slightly toned down for Lost Legacy... That Asav fight shows off a bit more realism (I laughed when Nadine got owned by him) and its not on rails but again he's the bad guy whereas she was a bad girl and I would feel a bit weird with Nate beating up a a girl, though she is very annoying and deserved it. Nolan North doesn't like Nadine either, he's said as much haha

Fun fact about the “health” mechanics of Uncharted. Even though the screen is progressively getting redder, Nathan Drake actually isn’t getting shot. The health is his luck, and when the health/luck runs out, then he gets fatally shot.
Get Cameron on the Sparring mats with Gemma and Gemma on the Range with Cameron!!! Just like how they've done before with Martial Artists re-creating Videogame moves, I think they should start a side series/cross-over where they get their experts to try their hands on the other expert's field and try to get the other expert to re-create a move/scene from a video game.
Cameron is kinda right, Nathan Drake is kind of a ladies' man haha but he is a noble gentleman. If you've played Uncharted 4, you know that the game literally handicaps you in the Nadine fights because Nate doesn't actually want to hurt her. He's always trying to defuse the situation and get her on his side. He even tries holding her wrists to restrain her rather than wail on her or uppercut to knock her out. The game doesn't let you actually punch her, it's all on rails. When the fight is over and Sam has the gun in the second fight, Nate tells him to forget about her. It's a nice detail to his character. To me, it wouldn't feel right if he just beat the crap out of her because of his noble, gentleman like nature. He obviously has the skills for as much as he's done in the game series, even if he's aged just a bit in this one. I think I like the hand to hand combat the most in 3, especially when you got to use things like a wrench to hit people and you could actually dodge in that one. 4 focuses more on brawls and counter attacks, which works I guess for an older Drake... Though I'd say 4 could've used the dodge mechanic.
Dude nathan got his butt kicked by Nadine plain and simple. She's a trained mercenary and Nathan is just a treasure hunter. He didn't pull his punches she just overpowered him. She beat him and his brother
He's just a treasure hunter? Have you seen his moves and who all he's gone up against in the past games? Definitely has incorporated mixed martial arts with boxing and brawling/grappling. The fact is that in this one you're handicapped during both fights and he's always trying to talk her down instead of actually doing something (especially when he's holding her wrists). That's the way I look at it. She's good, but she's not that good. She's definitely not physically stronger than he is. I'll say she's arguably faster, but I still think if he wanted to, he could put her down. That's just my two cents anyway... You don't have to agree. I don't think they should've handicapped the player if they didn't want people to think of him holding back, especially after everything he says about her and to her in the game. Hell... He even asks Sully if they can get through to her and talk her down while in Madagascar.
