For any “choking enthusiasts” in the comments, here’s the deal: The trick to unconsciousness is the brain, and choking does this by depriving oxygen. In a regular choke attacking the windpipe, it could take up to two minutes before they drop. Oxygen is already in the bloodstream, and the body will shut down extremities (like the hands and legs) to keep the brain oxygenated. The real shit is the blood choke, which closes the artery in the neck feeding blood to the brain. If that artery is closed, it doesn’t matter how much oxygen is in your blood; there’s no way to replace what the brain spends. The brain will deoxygenate and knock the person out in 3-5 seconds.
I Was just thinking about that too. Like how in Ghost recon breakpoint the character was cutting both arterys in the persons throat. I think slicing someones throat would kill them in 3-5 sec whilst choking would take 7-10 seconds like Noah said in the video
@@reimov not necessarily. It depends on how long you deprive brain of its oxygen. - Less than 10 seconds it's pretty safe. You just fall unconscious. - Above 14 seconds the brain starts suffering damage that may or may not be permanent. -Above 25 seconds it's usually enough to kill a person.

The rear naked choke is so hard to escape. If the person already has your neck in their elbow the best thing you can do is go for their eyes or pull forward on their neck with all your weight.
Loved the reaction! As someone who trains regularly with real steel swords, it would be hard; depending on what kind of sword you were using. Despite what people think, a well-crafted steel sword can actually be wielded fairly efficiently one-handed, but it gets tiring pretty fast if you're not in peak condition. That said, if you know enough not to cut yourself, this kind of fighting can be incredibly deadly, as it allows you to both attack and defend with both hands, enabling you to menace your opponents from multiple directions.
Fighting with two swords? Terrible idea. Theoretically sound, practically useless. There is a reason people didn't do it frequently throughout all of human history where people were trying to kill other people. I mean honestly swords in general aren't your best choice so why make it even harder on yourself lol
When the guy mentioned the cinematics of MGS, I really wish whomever was making the video would just go ahead and show them the Snake VS Liquid Ocelot fight on top of Outer Heaven.

@@Gamer88334 I was referring to the overarching world position vs just the US, but yes, the French are almost singlehandedly responsible for our victory as not only did they stop attacking us from the north, but their blockade of England and harrasment campaign is -- even to this day -- one of the greatest wartime achievements, let alone naval acheivements, ever.
I can't remember where I heard this so take this with a grain of salt, but it is believed historically a trained roman legionary could only fight continuously for 5 minutes. I assume with a knight it would be similar.
@@the_corvid97 they could fight for way longer than that, in fact roman legionaries wore their armour all day, only taking it off for maintenance, while bathing or to sleep and they trained with weapons and shields that were twice the weight of what they'd carry into battle, they also built roads, bridges and fortifications while in armour, they were conditioned for stamina. the reason why legionaries were able to rest mid battle was because their formations consisted of three shorter rows, as opposed to one long one, which allowed for the last row to rest, while the front row fought and the second row shielded them from above, the rows would cycle through on command simply because the second row couldn't hold their shields up forever. a knight would be a completely different story. knights and men at arms rode into battle on horseback and usually used lances or war hammers, swords were mainly used as a backup weapon, self defence tools while on the road, or in duels. also historical swords were much lighter than most people think and properly balanced, a good reproductions barely tires you out more than a fist fight.
Interesting your talk about double swords. The Florentines taught a double rapier style that I saw demoed once--it was a whirling propeller disc of blades, but you needed good, flexible wrists and coordination to pull it off. I would think Chinese MA must have some sort of double-sword technique--the blades are slim and light enough to be of use.
Actually there are a LOT of styles of karate, all of which have grappling and choke holds in them, especially the ones that had jujutsu influences. And since karate comes from Kung fu it certainly has a LOT of grappling and submissions.
@@michaelterrell5061 but its true that karate is much less focus on those moves, its the reason when kongfu fighter try to go for MMA fight they lose by grapling , its because they are less experience and trainint for that stuff . karate and boxer-kickboxer have the same problem , they have less training for grapling .
No doubt the best fighting scenes and CQC moves in Metal Gear Solid. Not just realistic also really fun to watch. Hideo Kojima exactly knows how the develop a game. Absolutely my favorite, and still playing that masterpiece.

Coming from Jiu-Jitsu I'd figured that if you did choke someone unconscious you would then have to perform a fatal strike of some kind because being choked unconscious doesn't last that long.

Noah: *Chokes dude half to death*
And since that day, no one has ever messed with Noah ever again
4:28 a moment of silence for our brother in the friend zone
When the guy mentioned the cinematics of MGS, I really wish whomever was making the video would just go ahead and show them the Snake VS Liquid Ocelot fight on top of Outer Heaven.
I like how Noah commented on MGSV, Judo is a type of martial Japanese arts and it focuses on non-lethally taking out enemies, fast and not complicated, simple and fast to learn. And what do you know? CQC is a non-lethal way to neutralise enemies fast an quick.
“That makes a huge difference Jenna it does!” Killed me lol

I like how all of the videos with Gemma and Noah, one half is them joking around, the other half is them actually watching the gameplay.

11:23 "Bro. I would watch a whole Metal Gear Solid movie, and I think they are doing one. Yeah, I think so." - The way he says it, it kind of sounds like he's actually working on the movie.
Exactly what I was thinking, pretty sure he can't talk about it but he was excited so he went half-in
Noah: "What if you missed?"
Master Chief: "I won't."
Last of Us fight choreography is some of my all time favorite. So gritty and believable.

@@formdoggie5 It got to a point where they couldn’t leave unless they signed a treaty because the French did a good job at blockading their position until they (the British) gave up. And the French were helping them because “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” I may make jokes about France giving up, but we Americans should thank France for helping us gain our independence.

MGS4 is pretty much a movie.
The whole mgs series are movies
@@aryabratsahoo7474 yeah but MGS4 had an hour long cutscene. Such a shame how little gameplay there was in that game.
@Walt Disney which works for me. I prefer playing a video game then watching nothing but cutscenes. Which is why I will never touch a telltale game.
"I would be tired with continuos swordfight"
Dude can you imagine being a knight back in medieval time
30 extra lbs of just steel and iron with every step u take
I can't remember where I heard this so take this with a grain of salt, but it is believed historically a trained roman legionary could only fight continuously for 5 minutes. I assume with a knight it would be similar.
@@flareboy166
50 to 60 lbs on average actually.
But it's evenly distributed.
@@the_corvid97 they have a fighting system so soldiers can fight and rest mid battle,
@@the_corvid97
they could fight for way longer than that, in fact roman legionaries wore their armour all day, only taking it off for maintenance, while bathing or to sleep and they trained with weapons and shields that were twice the weight of what they'd carry into battle, they also built roads, bridges and fortifications while in armour, they were conditioned for stamina.
the reason why legionaries were able to rest mid battle was because their formations consisted of three shorter rows, as opposed to one long one, which allowed for the last row to rest, while the front row fought and the second row shielded them from above, the rows would cycle through on command simply because the second row couldn't hold their shields up forever.
a knight would be a completely different story. knights and men at arms rode into battle on horseback and usually used lances or war hammers, swords were mainly used as a backup weapon, self defence tools while on the road, or in duels.
also historical swords were much lighter than most people think and properly balanced, a good reproductions barely tires you out more than a fist fight.

" I do Karate I kick people, I don't put people in a chokehold."
Actually there are a LOT of styles of karate, all of which have grappling and choke holds in them, especially the ones that had jujutsu influences. And since karate comes from Kung fu it certainly has a LOT of grappling and submissions.
