  • Dealing with breathlessness in times of COVID.
    When breathing gets difficult, it is important to stop panicking and maintaining these positions to reduce breathlessness and ask for medical help.
    Dyspnea is the medical term for shortness of breath, sometimes described as ‘air hunger’. During dyspnea, doing pursed lip breathing along with maintaining the shown positions can help reduce dyspnea. In conjunction with pursed lip breathing, certain breathing positions help in reducing the work of breathing by putting the breathing muscles in mechanical advantage. This eventually helps in reducing the shortness of breath.
    Try these exercises for a fresh breath of air, literally!
    Atmarpit Dr. Payalben, is a senior physiotherapist at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital. She is been selflessly serving the Mission from the last 14 years.
    She is a trained pulmonary physiotherapist, certified in Sensory integration from the University of Southern California, certified in Aqua Therapy from Switzerland, and certified as an international fitness professional from the Aquatic Exercise Association.

      Namaste. It is advisable to wait atleast 60-90 mins before a heavy meal to practise. If your meal was light you may wait 45 minutes to 1 hour. Hope this helps. Thank you.
