    I’d just call it part of the gain staging process. A lotta these cats got that signal coming in way too hot. Feel me? Taking advantage of bit rate’s is 💯 part of that process. Always been confused as to why nobody talks about that. Great video man. That beat is dumb hard. Some Guilty Simpson ish circa 08’. ✌️

    The compression brought up the room reverb and background noise which is not really good in my opinion. We can also hear the turntable rumble….and finally you can reduce the sample rate just by adding many different plugins that does exactly that.

    Wow, what a dope beat and a sick tutorial. Loving your channel bro. I have two questions if you’d be so kind:
    1. Do you know if it is possible to resample on the 2000XL?
    2. When you chop up your samples like that, are you just recording 4 bars of the song and then splitting them equally into the 16 pads? I would love to see a detailed video on this. As you have the MPC One where things can be more automated and you have a smoother workflow I sometimes miss some steps of what you do. I am trying to apply your teachings to my XL

    • @MattDiamondMDE
      @MattDiamondMDE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure of the workflow regarding chops, but to resample any sampler, just have the out L and R into the input L and R.
      There of course maybe a internal digital workflow to do it, this is just an analoge way

    • @MuhammadLaher
      @MuhammadLaher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattDiamondMDE I was just about to say that’s a good idea, (in theory it still is), but then I realised that as soon as I go to the record screen on my XL I won’t be able to play the sample. I will have to use my laptop to sample back in (after tracking out). It’s going to be a fairly long workflow but it’s the only way I can think of for the XL.

Could you please explain how to find the tempo of a drumbreak and how to loop it so it matches the sample tempo even when sample is at different Speed...And one more question regarding druha processing how to eq a drumbreak without adding one shots just using a drumbreak but to bring that heavy low end without getting muddy with filtered bass.Thank You kindly! • @The_Sound_Technician

  • @freezerman5871
    @freezerman5871 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just for my understanding, there is no 'sample rate' function in the MPC ONE? I had that in my 1998 Akai S20 sampler, and currently the Polyend Tracker has a bit rate menu, that tels you lower the bitrate for crunchier sound.

    • @RYANMAKESBEATS
      @RYANMAKESBEATS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! There is no way to adjust the sample rate at which the MPC One records. There are built in plugins that you can use to lower the sample rate after the sample has been recorded, but I find there is a much better result when either recording the sample at a higher speed, or resampling the sample locally. It would be nice if this was added similar to some of the older MPCs. Thank you for watching!!

  • @DB3TheOriginal
    @DB3TheOriginal ปีที่แล้ว

    Ryan. I need help with understanding bass. Sometimes when I get done with a beat I find it being the hardest task to add. Sometimes I don't use it & just rely on loud kicks to make the beat hit harder.
    So My question is what did you use as a bass to put on this beat? Is the bass from the sample? Hopefully this question makes sense.

    • @jeremiahkoecke2584
      @jeremiahkoecke2584 ปีที่แล้ว

      One shot live bass samples, some saturation/overdrive, and maybe sidechain the bass to the kick. For boom bap you really don't have to do anything super complex, just find the root and play when the kick hits, and then add some fills here and there to keep it interesting.

  • @Reggi_Sample
    @Reggi_Sample ปีที่แล้ว

    Is this not the same as using Air LoFi and adjusting the sample rate and bit size? Or is one way more advantageous? Not being a dick I’m asking because I don’t know. Bless (new sub)

    If i was Barry White's drummer, I'd be suing you right now. Why not sample your own performances and not steal other people's talent? That's the mainstream now though so I kinda get it. I miss the old days. Real music talent is obsolete these days. I love my MPC One but use it as a drum machine and song arranger. I admit I'll probably modernize and do some sample based music too. I'm infected.
