    This is exactly why I came back to my mpcx because NO OTHER MACHINE has sample offset. That’s how I would create my snares and clap stacks or design custom drums that sound perfect. I own the push, 4 Maschines and multiple drum vsts. Grove agent in Cubase is the only that has this feature but it’s too click and doesn’t feel the same. Crazy because yesterday on J Dilla’s birthday I came back “Home” to my roots. The Mpc kept calling me all week even in my dreams and I’m back to it. Been producing for 16 years and I have decades to go on the MPC. Much respect.

    • @OBZRV82
      @OBZRV82 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You sure? I'm pretty sure most MPC's have an offset feature. Or something similar.

      Ok this is the question. Ableton. Marlow ain't talking about chopping breaks. He's talking about giving your one shots a 'break feel'.
      Part of that i think involves creating air between one shots by offsetting the sample. I can't work out how to do this in Ableton.
      Doing this with a straight up drum break is pretty standard.

    So I’m waiting on my MPC one to arrive in the mail. Haven’t touched any kind of drum machine or sampler in about 15 years. BUT, I’m kinda understanding what you’re saying. My 1st 3 drum machines were the dr-202 and then I eventually got an Alesia which I hated. The dr-202 was easy after the 3rd one I bought. I’m just now understanding this “workflow” terminology and how the MPC series work. Excellent video. Just subscribed and hope you have more on the way. Thank you sir.

I am noticing that when i play these 8 pads to create rhythms i tend to be playing at about 70-75 bpm, and if i play in to a recording that is at another bpm it sounds 'off time'. is this just a practice issue, i need to get good...or is there a way of adjusting the offset to adjust the ideal input time (would a shorter offset mean that these pads can be played at faster tempo?)...thanks for your time, brother
