Unfortunately, after a few different tries, this did not work for me. I followed the steps directly, pausing the video for each step. Everything on my phone screen matched up. However, the A01 continued to 'threaten' me with low storage messages. Ultimately, I wound up investing in a new phone (albeit with it's own set of inconveniences). No one is going to read this far down, but it's important to note that this works on other phones too, and if you can't get the adb shell to list your device, it's because it's set to charge in USB settings. You need to tell it to act as storage, and adb will see it.

brilliant!! this was amazing. helped me a lot even though my computer and i kept messing up lol. little tip for other people:
-follow what he types exactly. each space, each letter (except if you have a new version of "platforms")
-if i got a different message than NKT Studios then i would restart the process over by closing out of command prompt and unplugging my phone. had to do this a few times because i mistyped a letter or space
-if your phone says it needs to be verified with bugging or something like that - go to settings - devl opt - scroll down to usb bugging - turn it off, wait a couple seconds then turn it back on
-if phone not connecting properly to the computer try a new usb port. one of my ports worked fine one day, then i tried it again another day and it said that the usb port was malfunctioning.
-if wanting to move apps to the sd card the go to devl opt - scroll near the bottom to enable force allow apps on external. did this after the video and now moving multiple apps to my sd card

Thank you so much, my lack of space was driving me crazy! Very easy to follow tutorial that worked like a charm! I did have one easily fixed issue in case anyone else does, after I installed a new game it would immediately close upon opening it, I simply went to the app's settings and selected the storage option, to see that it was still set to SD card despite the storage being combined. I moved the app storage to 'Internal', an option most of my games didn't even allow before this, and it opened without any further issue~

Duuuuude, yours was the first and ONLY method I found and tried immediately and you saved my life! I use the A01 for testing our work development apps and I got so ridiculously frustrated about the SD card not being able to house more apps.
I can see you've been in development for a while and you know your stuff! I am sufficiently impressed and you get the ROCKSTAR title from me and my coworkers. Damn, this worked first time, every time. Had to fiddle a bit with the commands to get it to recognise the device eventually, but once it did, BOB's YOUR UNCLE!
I would never in my life have been able to even guess my way around what you did, but you rock! Thanks for saving me from having to buy another phone and use the A01 as a paperweight! Thank you for an incredible solution to something that is supposed to be incredibly simple (but Samsung had to be stupid about it)

Just tried the exact same step with my 32GB ROM ASUS Max Pro M1, below are the results:
    1. It works, now my SD Card can be used as phone internal storage, total storage I have now 32GB + 32GB = 64GB.
    2. Not all apps able to store in SD card (ex: Outlook), but tried other apps like Excel, Words, & Open Camera, it able to store in SD Card, so depends on the apps.
    3. I use SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-I A1, but haven't tried all apps performance, so can't tell any apps performance degrade or not.
    Problem & troubleshoot I found:
    1. At first using win 7 it cannot detect device on chrome, I switched to other laptop using win 10 then it able to recognize the device.
    2. Choose the "USB Tethering" mode when the Android device connected to computer, at first I choose "File Transfer" & not work. Also don't forget to accept any permission request after choose "USB Tethering" mode.
    3. During execute adb devices command on command prompt, it didn't show my device although on chrome://inspect my device is recognize, then I unplug the device & reconnect then start the step from beginning again, it solve the problem in my case.
Big thanks for the uploader, I think it's the most straightforward & easiest method among other videos I watched. Hope it helps too for others.

This worked for me today. A couple of things:
As well as turning on usb transfer, turn on stay awake in developer mode
For this command the file name is different. Make sure to check that the name between adb and platform-tools is the same as the file that contains platform tools. For me it was platform-tools-latest-windows
    C:\>cd adb\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools
Also depending on how your unzipper, there may not be a file in the middle. If you opening the adb file in file explore leads to the platform_tools file, then the command you should use is:
    C:\>cd adb\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools
    Good Luck!

FOLLOW-UP: I was able to follow and complete this as well as the follow on which shows how to move apps to SD card on A01. HOWEVER, IT IS A TOTAL FAILURE THAT NKT STUDIOS DOESN'T ADDRESS. I had 128GD SD card and when I tried to move the apps it said not enough storage memory (which is total bull!). If I uninstalled an app and then installed it, it would be storage on the SD card but when I tried to run the app it would CRASH on opening. If I moved the app to internal storage it would then transfer successfully (as opposed to the opposite direction) and then the app would run just fine. So while you can partition an SD card for internal storage it won't allow you to load and run apps from that location. That is the whole point of this exercise - so I claim it is a failure. I wish NKT would have addressed that up front before I went through all of this trouble. It also seems that if you want 32GB of internal storage you have to buy an international version of A01. It would be nice if all of the reviewers had mentioned any of this. I read the reviews carefully before buying this phone and NOBODY mentioned this serious deficiency.

Hey there NKT Studios, I did this and while I can now move apps to the SD card, I can't move files there, and depending on how I view the SD card (files, vs system) I either have 128GB or 0k available on the SD card now.
I think that what has happened is that the phone does in fact view the SD card as internal storage, but there is something in the OS that still has a cap at 16GB of memory, despite there being an additional ~128GB of memory available (minus the space taken up by the apps I have moved there).
I think what needs to happen is that this code needs to be edited to reflect the actual memory available, but I don't know how to go about doing this, or how to look at the code to find where that information is. What would you recommend?

This worked and I am really impressed. Thank you very much. I had a charging cable but not one that the computer could read. I went and bought a fast charge cable and the computer was able to recognize that. It was Powertek fast charge from Walmart for $9.99. Well worth it. I felt like I threw out my money because I bought the internal storage and it was useless. I am so glad to have come across your video. People, this does work for Ao1 trac phone.

Well it sort of worked. It shows as it says in video but if I try to download anything it says I don’t have enough memory. Would there be a reason why it won’t use the SD card? Please help

Once you set the storage as adoptable you will no longer be able to manage it via a computer. So if you need a manageable storage set the adoption to a percentage instead of setting as private.

So I was able to do this and it worked, the storage showed the total of the phone GB plus the SD GB but even so, any app I tried to download after I made the change, would not work. It just does not open. It downloads fine but when I try to open the app it continues to crash and shut down. It does not even let me load it once to log into it, it doesn't open at all. Any suggestions?

Because they want you to pay $50-100 extra for a model with $5-10 worth of more memory. Same as Apple.

DISCLAIMER: You may have problems launching apps moved to or installed on the SD card after doing this. This video only shows you how you can integrate your SD card into your phone's internal storage. It will still make a distinction between the phone's solid-state memory (the storage that your phone came with) and the SD card and this can cause it to still display your in internal shared storage amount.
A simpler way to have apps on the SD Card without negative repercussions would be to see if individual apps can be moved to the SD card manually -> on Samsung devices this can look like this: Go to Settings > Apps > Choose an app you'd like to move > Storage > Change storage location > SD Card.
