hours and hours of laughs and entertainment that i have got from you Mrs. Routledge and all your co-actors! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!!!From Belgium
Keeping Up Appearances was a great programme. I remember as a kid enjoying Judy Cornwall on Moody and Pegg many many years ago .. another great programme.
Lady Routledge is the very definition of class , her and Joanna Lumley are quite different but they are both phenomenal and i love them both dearly and immensely .
I'm from holland and i think that the British have the best sense of humor! Are you being served? Dad's army, some mothers do have them, it ain't half hot mum, bottom, the young ones, blackadder, mr bean, london calling, etc etc. We dutch love all of it, and it's such a shame they don't make comedy's like that anymore. The same for pop music because imo the british had the best bands ever in the 70's and 80's. A true nation of TALENTED entertainers alright!
@@michaelreilly3513 it's called old age! She is 82 years old here, she may have health problems where she cant have the work done. Why pick on her appearance? Very low of you considering the person she is,she is an amazing lady. That's the issue with nowadays, people looking at appearance too much and not the actual person. Grow up.
Hyacinth is so much more of a treasure than the basic aristocrats she wants to impress and emulate hahah. what a precious character. I just love Patricia's creation and performance ...priceless
Before she even opens her mouth,I’m already in hiisterics, laughing like mad,Her serious looking face is so,so,funny, I couldn’t stop laughing. She’s very infectiousand most entertaining to watch.love watching her and the other casts.
I always thought it was very sweet how much Daisy loved her Onslow. She and Onslow always seemed happy with their lot. Unlike Hyacinth, who was never satisfied.
@@linrob1312 Absolutely, I love how loyal Hyacinth was to Richard despite all she put him through. You really saw it whenever Hyacinth was with the Major, how she loved his flattery but never even entertained the idea of betraying Richard.
There are very few series which I watched. However, I just Love 'Keeping up apperances' and until today I like to watch the episodes on internet:) Hyacintha is one of my favourite character ever!
Judy Cornwell AND DAME Patricia routledge are both VERY friendly lady's THEY seem💓👍💯🌟 NICE ONE hyacinth AND daisy Some comedy actors are NOT sadly IN real life..
She was also on the movie, Don't Raise the Bridge, Lower the River, with Jerry Lewis, and was quite young and funny as well. An extremely talented actress and a British gift to the world along with other equally talented Brits. We love you, Hyacinth.
I uploaded it when I first came to TH-cam and had 3 different directions I wanted to pull the channel into. In the end, the gaming content ruled over the other two genres and I kept it that way ever since.
She wants to be upper class and rich but she is not. She drives her husband mad with her obsession. The audience and everyone knows that Sheridon is gay and Hyacinth does not have a clue. She has poor relatives and a crazy father. Emmett who lives next door is terrified of her. Elizabeth is all thumbs when having coffee with Hyacinth. My favorites are: Sea Fever, Please Mind Your Head, and The Mayor's Fancy Dress Ball. There are so many funny plots and sub plots. I wish that we could see Sheridon. That would put an extra layer of comedy where Mother is smothering her son. Dame Patricia Routledge is the Queen of British Comedy.
I knew right away the two scenes in which she did not perform her own stunts: 1. the episode in which she falls overboard from the Contessa II into the river, and 2. The episode where she pretends to be able to ride horseback, and the horse runs away and jumps fences.
'I'm American & love keeping up appearances; absolutely fabulous.Never ask young yanks, they watch reality junk!! Hate it myself.Im Scotch English, Irish & german.Love lots of British humor!!
At the funeral of a long time friend of my mother, the son doing the eulogy pointed out that his mother had a friend who was a lifelike image of Hyacinth. He apologized to me afterwards but I settled his concern he was RIGHT.
i will say that i think one of the stunts that Patricia did not do would be the episode at the stable when the horse went racing off across the countryside.
What about when she fell into the river when Hyacinth and Richard went boating? You can't actually see her face when she's in the water as she has her back to the camera so that might be a stunt double.
As an American who loves British comedy, I LOVE this lady. No one else could have played that part like her.
D Doyle Best Brit Com ever!
Probably Dame Judi Dench?
Absolutely! I agree with you. She is a very intelligent lady as well.🙂
D Doyle agreed!
Totally agree with you.😂
A wonderful actress, Patricia Routledge. What a comedic talent. The timing, the grimaces, the physical comedy - she does it all so well.
+Lars Pallesen She must be doing it based on some real persons, nobody could make that stuff up.
+Lars Pallesen She is indeed a rare talent. Great singing voice too. I don't watch TV or go to the movies. Not too much talent like this anymore.
I agree completely. Her physical comedy was fantastic.
And she sings! th-cam.com/video/ReSlfsw5iJY/w-d-xo.html
And no one could give a look of disdain like she could.
Patricia Routledge has such a fabulously lyrical voice...and Judy Cromwell just seems so nice and so intelligent. Thanks so much for putting these up!
yougottagetagimmick Judy Cornwell... of a different fame than our friend Cromwell :-)
I wanted Hyacinth to have just one hugely successful candlelight supper.
A finale was written where she come into money and ended up with the big house etc.
I think that she did, but I can't recall the details (it was talked about, but not shown.)
nah... that would be like Charlie Brown kicking the football
Me too, it just seems like she always fell just shy of total success!
Yes. A LOVELY supper where Hyacint SHINES. ALL is perfect. And then Sheridan shows up and behave like a real gentleman and NOT asking for money:-)
This particular interview with the glorious Patricia Rutledge even LOOKS wonderful. The colors she's wearing, the setting, her makeup. Just lovely.
Thankyou Patricia for so many hilarious moments over the years!
Two beautiful and very talented ladies who gave us so much laughter. Thank you.

Oh! I love them all. British humor is the best. I'm American and watch as much as I can. Ct/tx
the one where she gets drunk on gooseberry wine was my favorite episode
So is mine :)
Vera actor

I adore Patricia very clever talented lady ,very funny,I love her classical voice
Keeping Up Appearances was a great programme.
I remember as a kid enjoying Judy Cornwall on Moody and Pegg many many years ago .. another great programme.
I have tried to find Moody and Pegg again in recent times, I loved it, but it doesn't seem to be available. Tell me if you ever find it!
Love BRITISH ENGLISH!... thanks for this piece!
Lady Routledge is the very definition of class , her and Joanna Lumley are quite different but they are both phenomenal and i love them both dearly and immensely .

Love this show. I watch it every Saturday night.
Optimistic me too, and then I watch As Time Goes By
Michael Sackstein I do the same. I'm in the Caribbean (Trinidad). I never get tired of those shows even if I've seen the episodes already.
Same here. It's always a blast and there's never a dull moment
Show name?
It’s 2024 and PR is 95. What an international treasure she has been!
❤❤❤
They don't make them like they use do.
Anyone agrees ?
Meeeeeeeè! there dreadful know!
I agree with you! They don’t make shows like this anymore.

Brilliantly talented woman. Exceptional
She's now Dame Patricia Routledge as she got knighted last year.
Did she get her tooth fixed? I mean, what was going on there, was it broken, a big chunk of lippy? WTF? She is rich enough to get it replaced!

What the hell does that even mean?? "A big chunk of lippy" ??? That's not even English. The moron can't even talk / write properly .
@@jerrybarbender9987 Oh you silly buffoon, lippy is an urban colloquialism for lipstick, anyone with half a brain knows this, clearly you don't.
OH - Oh Oh Oh ! I'm such a silly old balloon 🤣 🤣 🤣
She's a very versatile performer. If you haven't already, listen to her singing. She has a wonderful voice.
Hyacinth is so much more of a treasure than the basic aristocrats she wants to impress and emulate hahah. what a precious character. I just love Patricia's creation and performance ...priceless
I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW! My 8-year-old daughter introduced me to it many many years ago and I've been watching it ever since...❤️❤️❤️

Hugs to you Patricia for all the laughs you bring us! May I give you a kiss on the cheek in appreciation?
Mrs. Routledge is such a wonderful, eloquent, classy lady!
I just love her more now! Humble and nothing like the character although she has plenty of her own.
Two talented and classy ladies...love their work.... great videos.. thanks for posting
It’s great To see them

I love these LADYS!!!
One of the best shows I have ever seen!!!!
The horseback ride comes to mind, that perhaps Hyacinth had a stand in. Hilarious! That and falling in the river off the not so elegant houseboat.
I agree, I think those two episodes had a stand-in for her.
She is the archetype of older working women. We have so few. We need her, in so many ways.
I grew up in Vermont and I watched this as a kid too.
Thanks for putting this up. I'll always love the show
Thank you sincerely for posting these gems.
There are very few series which I watched. However, I just Love 'Keeping up apperances' and until today I like to watch the episodes on internet:) Hyacintha is one of my favourite character ever!

I love that Pat is more Hyacinth that Hyacinth.
Hyacinth in the sailing episode is one of the funniest things ive ever seen.
Good to hear all this, thanks. I fell about in the episode where she tries to get on the horse...among others. What a good sport!
Love Patricia and I wish she would do more on BBC to be aired in the states.
Patricia, love your comedy, your fellow actors perfect as well...❤️🌹❤️
Love the show
Class act. Especially Ms. Patricia!!
I have these shows memorized
What a legend Judy and Patricia
I didn't find the show keeping up appearances until it was reruns and I was in my early 20,s
Brilliant comedians. I also like hetty wainthropp.
Daisy was just so adorable. Judy did her justice
Love the bucket chick, miss her on Saturday nite on PBS ch 13. Put it back on the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a love/hate relationship with Hyacinth. I like it when someone finally tells her off
My mother was like her!!!!!
If you have not this show, please tell your DVD to record it. Along with As Time Goes By.”
Thank you for interviewing them.
Love this show....funny!
I love you Mrs. Bucket !!!
Daisy and Onslow are my favorite. Love the whole series
She and Lucille Ball were great at the physical comedy.
She's lovely Patricia .....
two of my favourite "sisters" LOL
She's so great in all scenes but spectacular when she's on the phone.
Hyacinth always held up the social standards, the goodly standards.
You are a refined woman, thank you for your excellent acting, our dear “Hyacinth”.
".....Built, contrived, a character that the whole world feels sorry for."
Very random to have this on a gaming channel but thanks for the uploads
I uploaded it when I first came to TH-cam and had 3 different directions I wanted to pull the channel into. In the end, the gaming content ruled over the other two genres and I kept it that way ever since.
She seems like such a friendly woman. Very different from the character of hyacinth.
DAME Patricia routledge is so friendly IN real life i hear...
She is the BEST!!
If you have not already seen the movie " Miss Pym's Day
Out " here on YT, you really must. Patricia Routledge at her very best.
Yes
I've see it very GOOD 🎬👍🌟
I just discovered Dame Ruttledge's
Filmography
Been watching many of them lately
Remarkable career
Such a talent
I had no clue
Loved Daisy and Onslow. And, will always hear Hyacinth shouting,"Richarrrrd!".
good logic and great casting is what's missing in a lot of comedies today that's why horror, costume drama and corny romances is the main genre today
Just discovering these interviews 👍🏽👏🏽🙌🏾
patricia is truely regal and full of grace
Patricia Routledge is wonderful
Dame patricia routledge AND the late Richard briers are both in an episode of tales of the unexpected -THE verger)) worth👀 watching it's on TH-cam..
I think she was a great great actress!

YES!!! Don't forget
-"Mind the horse, dear"
-"It's in the field"...

When she walks along her husbands back to get onto the boat, I think.
there was more than 2 scenes, she certainly did not do the climbing over the high garden wall and also the back of truck scene
Agree!
Just noticed she reminds me of Julie Andrews! Both of them have that kind of 'elegance' to them.
“Mind the pedestrians Richard”

That and the fall overboard on her”yacht.”
i am guessing one of the two shots not using Ms R was the horse back riding at the rental stable

I can detect when there is a stand in for Hyacinth in some scenes...especially when she is jumping over walls...
