Honestly when I first saw this Nullifying Clarity combo I thought to myself "There's no way that this works right? Cause the enemy would need a status effect BEFORE the M1" And turns out my hypothesis is correct

>Hitting a player with chilling and nullifying clarity does not proc nullifying clarity just like the vid says. But that's what the talent does, OP. I had a nullifying clarity saint jay build and I just wanted to kill myself from how awful it was, I had someone frostbit and the only sensible thing to do was to just keep spamming mantras, because hitting them would remove the chill effect and I wouldn't get healed if they did.
Well chilling kills chaser faster couse u dont just m1 him once and parry trade. You just dont do the extra damage the first m1 but every other does proc the 15% damage boost couse its removing the chilling from the one before
I'm not sure why it would be on chaser specifically, but it could be that certain monsters have less elemental armor than physical, and chilling DOES convert your damage afaik, meaning that if he follows that trend you would do more damage. This is why it's considered a good PvE enchant.
chilling for PVE has 2 functions 1. nullifying clarity, which here was proven false (probably), you can just go blindseer on your PVE build for null procs 2. elemental dmg, you will be doing elemental DMG rather than physical DMG due to this, most enemies, especially anything in layer 1 (thus chilling is superb for hell mode), HOWEVER some humanoids might have elemental resistance, like chaser would (he has black diver)

It doesn't work on players because guess what.. the F key is a thing. You get hit once, it's going to be difficult proccing Nullifying clar unless you have some goo goo gaa gaa guap guap mixup to open your opponents up.
It’s kind of funny that this vid was to clear confusion but now there are people saying null chilling doesn’t do anything which isn’t what’s said in the vid… it just procs every other m1 in pve
According to wiki, Chilling is the enchantment type that need you to hit enemy a few times to proc depend on your weapon type.(You will hear the sound of charging when hit, Detonation is the same enchantment type with chilling as well) So,let’s say you are using evenspear cuz most ppl using that or hivelord hubris on pve. You need to hit enemy 3 times to proc chilling, and another m1 to erase chilling effect and proc nullifying clarity(and also 1 recharge for chilling),so 4 m1 totally. Although it isn’t clearly see on the vision, but on pve, when you hit a big mob with your chilling ready, you will see some freezing flame(sorry I don’t know how to describe it),many people may not notice this in hell mode or fighting against Scion of Ethiron.(Chaser is so clearly,as he is humanoid boss.) But the chilling effect against the same enemy will have 7 seconds of cooldown until chilling proc again, which mean this against Chaser or Scion of Ethiron could proc once or twice only when you have the chance to attack them(but you still have other task to spend time such as breaking jar and placing bone.) Hell mode is a perfect place to show the combination of chilling and nullifying clarity, since you will keep proc these on **different** enemies. On the Chaser case, don’t mistake if you break blood jar,it doesn’t charge up at all as you don’t hear the sound of charging and breaking objects only. On the Scion of Ethiron case, Kyrsgarde lancer will spawn,so chilling may proc early due to killing these for charging up.That mean if you hit twice on lancer(two charge up),and hit Scion of Ethiron,it will proc chilling on him instantly, and use another m1 to proc nullifying clarity. I think it’s still very powerful enchant on pve personally, but people should understand it isn’t permanent damage buff at all.
in my experience the bigger reason chilling (and any enchant that makes m1s do elemental damage like blazing) is broken in PvE is because most monsters have more physical resistance than elemental resistance, especially against something like Scion of Ethiron that takes substantially more damage from elemental attacks than physical ones
bro your first mistake was "according to the wiki" it's so inaccurate about stuff and has information that was outdated in verse 1 NEVER look to the wiki for answers

Yes, nullifying clarity is basically free damage w/ chilling, but, as per discussed, it's for a specific reason in PvE (you're landing a status effect on a monster every hit). in my experience what makes chilling broken for PvE isn't the nullifying clarity synergy (although it helps), it's just chilling (and other elemental enchants) make weapon m1s do elemental damage, combined with the fact that most monsters have more physical resistance than elemental resistance. A handful of enemies, like the Scion of Ethiron, get shredded by elemental attacks compared to physical attacks.

@@MakaraPip fair enough, although I'm also not 100% sure if nullifying even procs from the blue particle effect, although it could considering that it gives a crystal instead if you have crystal path.
