- With the arrival of the new Ford Aspire we revisit the hot sub 4-meter segment to see if it can match up to the mighty Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Since this time around we are reviewing the petrol variants, it was logical to include the Honda Amaze with it’s i-VTEC power. The Dzire’s just been crowned the best selling car in India in 2018, will it manage to justify this statistic or will we see a new winner emerge.

Hey folks, there is a small error in specification of the Amaze and the Dzire. The kerb weights of the two cars have been interchanged in the table at 9:45. The correct kerb weights are as follows.
Ford Aspire: 1043kg
Honda Amaze: 924kg
Maruti Dzire: 895kg

This video seems to be purposefully made to acclaim the desirability of the tin can Dzire. You cared about projector headlights in Dzire but not the build quality of the Honda and Ford. Where is the comparison of weight? Where is the comparison of design? Why no one spoke about the jerk laden AMT in Dzire that too in a car costing 12L where as competition is giving DSGs and Converters? Don’t you think Dzire is overpriced? Where is the mention of crash worthiness?
Edit: Noticed you are even posting wrong information regarding kerb weight of the car (@ 9:47) - As per Maruti Suzuki the max kerb weight for petrol variant ie ZXi+ is 895 kgs.
And the kerb weight of amaze is 925kgs for petrol top variant.
You have successfully fooled many people as you can see in the comments below.
They're probably tired of doing the shootout again and again hence they just give the crown to dzire everytime no matter what the outcome.

6. You missed one very important thing which is, we can get an aspire with traction control, active roll over prevention along with a class leading power figure in automatic transmission.
See, even I am not a fanboy of aspire.It has it's flaws and I particularly hate the feel of doors in pre facelift model, which is rectified in facelift. But clearly, in sub 4m sedan segment, it's a winner(although not by huge margin from amaze).
Dzire is better in some aspects only like- diamond cut alloy wheels, led lights, rear AC vents and a slightly bigger boot along with a more refined petrol engine.

One more alarming thing, India bound swift(which is derived from dzire) got just 2 stars in GNCAP, so the above gentleman is somehow right in his "death" remark.
And pre facelift aspire got 3 stars in GNCAP and ford said that they have used more boron steel for facelift aspire, so the safety performance of aspire will improve undoubtedly.

If maruti's build quality is so bad as we are made to believe by some comments then how we still can see vintage Maruti 800 and Omni's plying on the road.
One thing that i would like to ban in this country is LED headlamps. It may be a best feature for the driver whose car boasts this feature but for all other bikers and car drivers , it's basically the worst thing to face on the road. It basically makes other drivers blind for few seconds. Also in winters it is utterly useless in foggy conditions.

My cousin owns a desire... i drove it on both city n highway... it felt very light on highways and ok in city terms... i didnt got cnfidence on highway driving as steering felt very light.... space is good, car is also good.. bt m planning to buy aspire... watever disadvantages u told about aspire, might not b acording to u, bt i find it *the best* among others... i dnt care abot rear practicality, i ll buy it jus for fun driving... i love aspire... anytym...❤❤😘😘

Thanks for watching. We do our ob without any bias and give out clear results. For starters, "Nothing can beat the fun behind the wheel of aspire.." well... now that feels biased. Diving into specifics, the softer suspension on the aspire makes it a little nervous while taking corners at some speed, especially compared to the Dzire. You don't have to believe us, a test drive will be the best judge.

Aspire is the more strudy car. Steering calibration, chassis balance and suspension tuning of Ford is completely a different level which can't be matched by maruti and Honda. After driving Aspire, dzire and amaze feels like some 3rd class japanese cars built with 4th class chinese materials.
P.S. This is from an existing Maruti customer (Celerio in my case).

Preference to cruise control over safety? No, that was a sarcastic comment at the end of the video. And for the plastic quality, well... you would be surprised by the quality inside the Aspire and Amaze. Cost cutting has really affected them, and not in a good way. If your friends own any of there cars, do check it out.
@@nabeelkhan4878 I do have all 3 cars in my friend circle to be frank I never felt the premium plastic feel in Dzire. Who wants to feel the same plastic inside a wagonr and Dzire which is in different segment. Hondas are bit above than Maruti and Ford for sure has a sturdy and bit upper plastic quality than both these cars.
Can't expect a premium quality in mid size segment cars but at least they can provide safety while the customer is paying them almost 7+ lacks. Come-on bro everyone knows the build of Dzire don't be fooled by the gimmicks of projector and DRL life is important than these fancy features.

Booked a Aspire after TDing Tigor, Amaze.
Almost booked the Tigor but after a longer 2nd TD, the engine is too sub-par and for 40K more got the Aspire Titanium. Engine and Handling is a gem.
My bad that I didn't test "MID CORNER BUMP UNSETTLING THE CAR"
Didn't even try MS Dzire. (They had only AMT version to TD, like WTF, selling 20K+ cars per month and no TD car. Also, Sales Guys were too pushy, like we were buying clothes or something.)
Also, the MS Sales guy said 6 airbags are not important in India for some reason. I guess everyone in India follows the rules and there is no chance of Side Impacts. F*ing idiot.

The pre-facelift Aspire did score a good 3-star rating in the GNCAP test and does offer the best safety kit of the three (like mentioned). Also, like said in the video, it is the value for money choice.

If you guys give preference to cruise control over Safety, then God help us. The cheapest car has the maximum safety and in terms of other factors is middle of the road. In my books it should be the Aspire.
Well atleast they said two things honestly i.e. Dzire leading in space and price (pun) 😂. These fools find the cornering ability of aspire to be just okay and the rear seats to be flat. Whereas Dzire has the best steering 😂..... Wtf! As for the cabin materials, Aspire might not be the most premium but it is the best built. Thats for sure..... anyday.

But, as far as performance is concerned, the Dzire's faster than the Aspire to 100kmph and in-gear as well (Vbox data). Also, we found the cabin cooling of both the Amaze and the Dzire marginally better than the Aspire.

When you get so many downvotes, there must be some reason. You guys must stop being disillusioned and try to do a better job next time, and if you have the courage to accept constrictive criticism, you must come up with an updated video with same subject...
Maybe I'll add something myself... I own a Maruti Ertiga and I'm very happy with it, so when I needed a sub 4 mtr sedan, DZire was my obvious choice, but still I did test drive all three cars here... Now I'll keep the competition between aspire n DZire as in my honest opinion, Amaze lacks behind both in almost all departments barring looks (where it wins hands down) and boot space.
When it comes to look, it's totally subjective and my wife (not a car enthusiast) said the DZire looks like it's been designed by a very bad designer n looks dumb n flat whereas the aspire looks more premium and smart though it's a bit flat when it comes to rear design n I agreed with her completely.
The main difference was the sheer build quality. Aspire chews up n spits out DZire in this regard. You just punch the door metal from the outside n you will instantly feel the difference (the Maruti guy was super annoyed I did this but the Ford guy was elated). Maruti simply sacrificed the safety part to reduce weight which in turn improves its power to weight ratio so in spite of being powered weakest engine, the DZire feels lively (one must be just dumb not to notice this fact). It also offers better safety feature on top variant. I'm not willing to sacrifice my life for some KMPH on my speedo n better mileage. Aspire is also more confidence inspiring when I'm on the driver's seat. It just feels secure. Contrary to what you said, the plastic quality on aspire was on par with Maruti if not better ( this matter is also subjective though). I also disliked the cheap wooden inserts in the DZire.
The engine of petrol aspire is rev happy n needs to be pushed to extract performance n with fully passenger loaded car, aspire felt simply more powerful n fun to drive.
Also on rear seat I, being a tall guy felt lack of headroom in DZire n my hair was touching the roof n on one speed breaker my head bumped the roof. Aspire provided enough head room.
Finally I booked aspire petrol after several test drives of both cars, n I'm happy with my decision.
Edit: the thing I liked about DZire was the quality of gear shifts which was better than that of aspire.
Disagree with you. Although I'm happy that you choose the Ford Aspire which is the best car in this segment in overall quality. But your remarks that amaze looks the best i strongly disagree. Dzire with its comical LED lights looks like a dead fish gasping for air. Maruti simply copied Aspire's front face. They are running out of ideas!!!
And honda don't get me wrong, it only looks good from side profile. From the front it looks like a crying bull dog who got its face punched.
The Maruti Dzire is the most unsafe car and biuld quality show 3rd class. The Honda Amaze on the Ford Aspire is premium and safe car.

The Dzire is the liveliest to drive? What were you guys smoking? Nothing beats the Ford in driving dynamics and the Amaze comes in second. Suzuki's Swift is not good to drive anymore, forget the Dzire.

Saiyan God hmm nope,well I partially agree with you here..Honda 1.5 is good...1.2 is meh in terms of performance. Again Fords dragon 1.5 is good but 1.2 is again meh... Dzire is tin and not premium but in 1.2 NA petrol segment SUZUKIs little motor is better than other two. But the little Honda 1.2 in a Brio is better than a Jazz/Amaze.
Diesel aspire is the best drivers car.. Its also miles ahead in ride and handling.
Diesel Aspire is in a class of it's own. It is simply unmatched. No tin can dzire or pepsi can Honda can match it in build quality, ride and handling balance and performance.

Don’t underestimate the real POWER of Ford’s 3 cylinder engine, it is a extremely powerful machine rocket for that segment. Everything looks so premium and luxurious car inside. No bad smell that you get in desire. Brake is so good you have no idea how smooth and great. Ground clearance is around 174. Think about that. The touch screen is like iPad... so smooth. So spacious in the rear seat 3 big people in my family fit in it with good enough shoulder space and transmission tunnel was not much an issue at all at rear. looking like tiny Aston Martin now.. love that car when I see it on the road.
I don't understand how you people concluded dezire as winner. You did miss many good aspects of Amaze and aspire like
1. Amaze boot space 420 liters
2.looks of Amaze and aspire are far better than dezire( example: from side view we can't even differanciate between old and new dezire)
While Honda gives more on road presence.
3. Aspire 6 air bags( should be considered before giving the verdict)
4. Honda gives first disel cvt option in India.
5. And cvt is is better than amt.

The most serious issue here is the trio of Swift, DZire n Baleno are built on an ultra light heartattack platform 😋
This trio sells multi folds of all other cars in India combined!!

While the DZire is indeed very attractive esp the VXi model which isn't too costly than the competition n gets adequate features unlike gimmicks like DRL n Projectors.. It is hard to recommend to anyone coz it's certified unsafe.. sorry..
The Honda Amaze is also poorly built in comparison to Jazz! It's weird styling also doesn't impress.. finally you say the Amaze handles better than the Aspire! 😋.. even the Ford haters will not agree with this..
Lastly the DZire has the worst ride quality of all in the segment.. sorry..

Honda amaze or Maruti boleno which one is better
I have driven the new gen swift. And i have to say that it is worse than the old swift it replaces in driving dynamics. The steering feels vague and too light and handling is not confidence inspiring. The Dzire should be no different. So I am a bit skeptical when you say that it is the best handler especially when compared to the Aspire.

Pathetic review only only only dzire. Aspire is the best car in this segment in terms of handling ,drive , diesel engine power and average . How can the host say about aspire ride quality during corners is okay, it clearly states that the host are totally in favour of the maruti which lacks stability , ride quality and handling . They don't know about the driving pleasure at all .

I will keep Aspire as the Winner, Amaze at Second and Dzire at 3d. All cars are good compact sedan segment. Probably the best three. Maruti only scores at the availability of services centres.
The Ford Figo Aspire is way ahead in terms of ride quality compared to the other two. Cabin experience is great. Shortcoming will be the cabin space. Cabin gets cooler quite quickly in AC as compared to the other two despite the rear air vents. Shortcomings would be the pickup and initial vibration at lower gears. But again once rolling, there is no complain. The 3 cyl Dragon engine is powerful and offers great driving experience. Ford has shut shop, but the vehicle in its class is awesome.
Petrol Aspire is a beast, its ride handling quality, AC performance, Soundproof ... Except for few drawbacks like lack of Projector headlamps(which i personally do not feel a drawback actually but generally its seen as one ) ... I drove all the three for and I'm telling you in terms of ride handling, safety and AC performance Aspire is miles ahead of Dezire , both Amaze and Aspire are near contenders
