- The Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze have been the most dominant sedans in the sub-4 metre segment. But now, the Ford Aspire facelift with its 1.2-litre ‘Dragon’ petrol engine has heated competition up in the sub-4 metre space. Dial in the fact that it is the least expensive car of the three, and it does seem like a worthy alternative. So which of these three petrol sedans, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze or Maruti Dzire, should you put your money on? Watch our comparison review where we answer just that.
All the three cars tested here are the top variants. The Ford Aspire Titanium+ is priced at Rs 7.24 lakh, the Honda Amaze VX costs Rs 7.68 lakh and the Maruti Dzire ZXI+ is the costliest at Rs 8.00 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). And because they are all top-of-the-line variants, all of them get features like push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment systems, steering mounted controls, rear parking cameras, two airbags and ABS with EBD.
All of these sedans have 1.2-litre petrol engines. But, while the Ford Aspire makes 96PS @ 6500rpm and 120Nm @ 4250rpm, the Honda Amaze is good for 90PS @ 6000rpm and 110Nm @ 4800rpm. The Maruti Dzire, on the other hand, is the least powerful of the three with an output of 83PS @ 6000rpm and 113Nm @ 4200rpm. But, the Maruti Dzire is the quickest car here with a 0-100kmph time of 11.88s, whereas the Aspire takes 12.01s and the Amaze does the same in 12.00s.

I own Dzire and Aspire both diesel top models.. Aspire is more robust and confidence inspiring.. Aspire is much better car to drive .

My experience with Dzire since last 2 years was really good. I drived Aspire and Amaze once, both were really good. Aspire had a better driving experience. But riding quality is best in Dezire in my experience. Rear AC vent also does matter in Dzire.
Aspire.. the build quality.. tge kerb weight everything is proper.. limited features are better.. rather then having all features and using the one in a month..
For mileage Dzire.. Fun to drive, safety, tough build quality - Aspire..

@Nagato is better than Punk Naruto dzire looks very disproportionate.. The glass area is really less for the size.. It really looks like a hatchback with a boot strapped on.. The best design is amaze, which somehow looks long and not like a compact sedan.. Aspire is better than dzire, but not as good as amaze in this.

Bought Amaze. Perfect family car
Having owned an 800 and a Swift vdi in the past , well no more Marutis for me . Conceptually great , Marutis have real filmsy build quality . My old swift rattles from everywhere. By contrast the Aspire 1.2 Titanium plus that I have been riding for a year now seems well put together . Yes there is a flat spot at 1700 to 1800 rpm , after which it is a spirited performer . And dear you failed to maintain chassis dynamics and handling , well the ford is light years ahead of the other two . As for the Amaze , well I would not like to be seen in a poor man's Honda city , that it is.
I feel its a confusing review , As per me the Refinement in Amaze is better specially Petrol and Also Maruti's Built Quality is seriously Questionable ... Ford might not have a great engine but is Bomb Safe Car ! Cheers !!!!

Thank you for watching. In terms of the automatic variants, the Amaze and the Aspire feel better than the Dzire to drive. The one on the Aspire is a DCT and the Amaze gets a CVT. My preference would go to the Amaze for its smooth drive.

@@TheSumiitbhatia Correct, my bad. The facelift comes with a 6-speed torque converter. In terms of the ride, the Amaze is best suited for bad roads as it gets the softest suspension setup here. But, it does tend to become a little bouncy at highway speeds. The Dzire though is the most balanced, better suited for highways, cornering developed cities with good roads. Aspire lands somewhere in the middle of the two.
Driver car is aspire only... It's 1.5 diesel engine.. And build quality is nice... Compare to others car it's cheap...

To reduce noise and vibration the block stiffness has been increased, a new layer of damping material has been added on top of the head cover and there are new engine mounts too. Then, to be doubly sure, Honda has gone crazy with sound deadening blankets in the engine bay. Under the hood, on the firewall, under the engine and inside the cabin too, there’s more absorption material to improve the in-cabin experience. The back seat, where the Amaze feels truly spacious and comfortable for 3 persons. The new platform offers a wheelbase that is 65mm longer than before. This, Honda claims, has increased kneeroom for rear occupants by 40mm. We will admit that it feels pretty much on par with the Dzire on this front now.

I think overall lookwise, honda as a highly principled company with quality, amaze seems better if compromised with few things. Engine wise Honda i-vtec is always go getter.

No safety in dzire, paper thin metal sheet, lightest in the segment, Auto headlamps can't save your family in case of accident, so whenever you do comparison safety should be your main priority, only airbags and abs can't give safety its the structure which takes the maximum impact. So my dear EXPERT always talk about Must to have features not Good to have.

I have Amaze and my Uncle has Dzire apart from mileage and rear Ac vents everything is good in amaze. I have driven both. On long tours Amaze is way better than Dzire.

+Ajay Verma We can't give any verdict here about their built quality as none of the car hasn't been tested by the NCAP yet. However, in terms of safety features, Ford Aspire will be our pick as it gets 6-airbags in its top-end trim.
@@cardekho it means the built quality of aspire is better than other twos , further dezire has the same platform as de swift which got 2 stars in ncap( low score than kwid) so same can be expected with dezire also,
So why don't you just pick up the car which is more safe (aspire) rather than dezire which has slightly spacious cabin and slighly better in terms of pickup (which ka only due to light weight ) no rocket science in it.
We should not compromise on safety of car first , slightly outdated design, less back space and engine refinement can beignored .
If we set safety our first priority than only the automobile companies like maruti and huyandai will change.

Why there is no talk about the build quality. Why everyone forgets about it when giving the overall rating. We are still not giving enough importance to this factor. Every comparison should talk about crash test ratings as well, which should be prominently highlighted.

Any day it is dzire only, comfort far superior than other two, may be in paper engine power figures are lower than other two but it has Fiats engine and performace is just wow. Down side is no body strength But amaze also from the same playform.

+Mangesh Jaiwal In terms of dimensions, there is no change in new Dzire and you can expect the same driving dynamics. The 2020 Dzire gets minor styling updates. The most noticeable change comes at the front. It gets a redesigned bumper featuring a bigger grille, which also integrates the central air dam and the number plate housing. The side and rear profile of the updated sedan remain unchanged. Over features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, LED headlamps and auto AC with rear AC vents, the 2020 Dzire also gets a new 4.2-inch coloured MID from the Baleno and a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The facelifted Dzire also gets auto folding ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors), cruise control, and added safety for AMT variants in the form of hill hold control and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The most important update on the 2020 Dzire comes under its hood. Instead of the earlier 1.2-litre unit (83PS/113Nm), it gets Baleno’s new 1.2-litre DualJet unit. It is not a bad car per se, but the multitude of options in the market don't help it stand out. While, the Santro still appears to be a great value for money city runabout that it always was. The space, features and the fit and finish of the interiors really do feel like a step-up from entry level hatches from yesteryear. From our short first drive it promises a smooth four cylinder engine, flexible engine, nice smooth gearboxes and a suspension set-up for city commuting. If we talk about Tiago, despite its affordable price tag, the Tiago doesn’t come across as a cheap car. In fact, it’s quite solidly built and the quality of materials used inside the cabin feels premium as well.
Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive in order to clear your all doubts.

@@sanjeevaci And to be honest, Amaze has bigger AC compressor unit so you really won't feel any need of Rear AC Vent. Dezire rear AC vent just throws air and is not very useful. Remember "You can never go wrong with a HONDA".

Dekho bhai ye segments higher middle class lete he. Most important for them is mileage, resale, looks, maintenance and resale value he. Ab safety ka ignore kare to Dzire k nazdeek koi car nahi aa sakti. N that's the reason it's most sold Indian compact sedan.
