    I visited Nizwa fort 24 years ago n even then it was amazing. I really loved it. Oman is amazing and would love to visit again. Love & respect from Bangladesh.

      How neat! The fort and castle recently went through a massive restoration, so we can only imagine what it would have looked like 24 years ago. And we imagine Nizwa's probably grown quite a bit since then. We're glad the beautiful mountains and date palms have stayed the same 😍

    Nizwa is such a cool place. We drove from muscat via nizwa then on to Al Ain. Such great memories. It was like our version of driving Route 66! One day I will go back and relive it all.

    So happy to see more Oman 🇴🇲 episodes! We just visited Beehive Tombs in Al Ain, UAE. I wonder if they’re some how related to the same ancient tribes?
    I really hope our family travels take us back to Oman before we leave the UAE in June.

    I lived in Nizwa for four months while I was in Oman! So this video made me so happy to see!! Also the stuff you tried wasn’t my favorite either, all of my local friends always gave me some as a gift along with dates! The dates are the best and so is the coffee!

    I love this series! It's interesting! Turkish have their own halva but it looks completely different (it's creamy, with strong sesame flavor), while the halves you had in Oman seems to be like Turkish cevizli sucuk!

      They're called 'Khubz Rakhal' or we just call them 'Rakhal'.

      @@desireedcosta5520 I'm not quite sure that's totally correct, or maybe in different regions we call it differently... We call it خبز يابس، Khubz Yabis which means Dry Bread my home town is an hour away from Nizwa

      Mahmood Al-Rashdi How interesting. I’ve never heard it called Khubz Yabis until today. I know that the names Khubz Ragag and Khubz Rakhal are often used as I always order them. I researched which term was more popular/widely used before posting my prior comment and proceeded with the latter. Thanks for making me learn something new today.

    I love your channel and really like when you visit castles like this and the ones in Germany. The bee hive tombs were so cool. Just think, you were standing at the same tombs people did over 4000 yrs ago, now that's amazing..

      It was definitely surreal standing at the tombs. Especially since the area is relatively undeveloped, it really felt like you were potentially seeing what people for thousands of years might have seen. Visiting ancient structures/sites is definitely one of our favorite parts of our travels too! 😍

So...for one lesson last week I had them do an assignment where they watch an episode of yours, add up your travel equipment costs, add up your merch, read your donations etc. We also talked about marketing skills and networking with companies etc. To see the work it takes to run a travel channel. They loved it.

    Without much humidity it seems everything lasts much longer. When we lived in the desert it was so cold at night. Now we live in Vermont and I can remember it somewhat more uncomfortable than cold here, especially when the wind blows.

    My family loves Halwa. Our relations in Oman always bring some along with some dates. When they visit the UK (they like the cooler summer).

      @@MoaathMas Oman can easily reach a dry 40°C. Whilst the UK averages about 25°C but is very changeable and can range anywhere from 18°C to 35°C (on very few days).

    That pottery is beautiful and the Date Shop reminded me of a small town in Dateland AZ but not as sophisticated or beautiful as where you are. AZ has farms of those jurassic looking Date ☺️ trees and a gas station/ convenience store/gift shop. They sell soft serve Date ice cream too.

    There are so many varieties of Halwa. All sweet but some are more subtle in taste than others. Traditionally you drink Omani coffee straight after to neutralize the taste.

      My wife and I went to Oman a few months back. It's one of the safest countries in the middle east. We had no issues whatsoever.

      It was definitely pretty toasty during the heat of the day. Luckily it was really breezy at the fort, especially on the higher levels, and the thick walls kept it cool inside. There wasn't a lot of humidity, so even when you're in direct sun, it's not too terrible 😅Just wear a hat and take plenty of water 👍
