It's amazing how ahead of us you were in producing future episodes. Editing and re watching all this must drive you two crazy wanting to get back out there. We're just thankful to see this fun desert series😊 Stay safe, James and Kim
It's definitely making us sad that we're missing so many adventures we had planned for the year, but we're really glad and thankful that we were able to see and do so much before everything shut down. We'd actually stored up content because we were planning on taking some time off in April/May...we just didn't realize how much time off was in store 😅
To be honest it would cost substantially more for a hotel room in Boston that included a dinner and breakfast buffet of that quality. (And there wouldn't be any camel parking either. ) Thanks for the videos especially for a place that I doubt will ever make it on my list but certainly seems fascinating.
I find these two complain a lot when they do the so called "Nomad" or cheaper stuff because it's less comfortable, few amenities, bugs, small spaces, lower quality food/service, etc and that is probably most of the time since they rarely pay premium or splurge as they say because they are on a tight budget and are probably just scraping by in this new "occupation" they have chosen. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and they will never be truly satisfied and complaint free with what they can or are willing to spend on and not.
Always nice to take a break from roughing it and splurge on some comfort! An oasis! Great food too, the lamb looked delish! It's all good, lol. Thanks for sharing!
Oman is really beautiful, i have visited a few times n really loved it. Your vlogs are amazing, helping us see positive videos in the lockdown. Keep sharing positive vlogs. - Love & respect from Bangladesh.
The bedouin camping experience is quite popular here in the UAE as well. Your deluxe room is so nice! Sweet shower! Awesome sunset drone shots. With all the sand, did you use a GoPro on your walk to dinner (instead of your Sony)?
I could watch your desert adventure videos all day. I’m absolutely intrigued by Oman. The hotel was a nice change for sure! Keep on traveling and living your best lives 🙌💯☀️🐪
Did you catch our previous adventure?? We went wild camping in the middle of white sand dunes! It was quite a different experience than this 😅 But SO much fun! Watch here 👉 th-cam.com/video/deyoQtkXluY/w-d-xo.html
Oh wow! That looks amazing! I love watching you two travel the world! I’m working my way through your videos from the beginning! I’d love to know why you chose to be vegetarian and then why you chose to stop being vegetarian. Also, I’d love to see a tattoo tour (all of your tattoos with what they mean to you).
Thanks for sharing this and YES TOTALLY WORTH IT ...a shower and AC OMG $250 a night in the Oman desert where temperatures get to 110 at night sometimes .YES ...and I so wanna go ...
Nope in the winter it’s really cold ,, and most people go to the desert in the winter season,, in the summer people go to Salalah in the south of Oman ,, search Salalah you’ll be surprised of how in the summer it turns cold and green 😍
Love it that after all your adventures you still take time to appreciate the little things, like the insect and petting the camels, btw that waffle looked out of this world! Looking forward to more videos from you both in the future, what ever it'll be.
Awesome! I truly enjoyed that drone footage.🛫🛫🛫 Who would have thought of a luxury oasis in the desert?! 🤷🏿♂️Very unique and interesting. 🤔 That buffet looked awesome. 🥘 I could imagine the refreshing feeling of having an iced cold beer, after a period of time. 🍺🍺🍺 Can't wait for the next vlog. 😎
Really enjoying your footage. I went back to your videos from Italy to present (in this quarantining) its been a great way to think of where I'll go when we can all hit the road again.much love from Tahoe, CA.
So glad you're all enjoying it! 🙌Definitely itching to get back out there, but until then, we're happy to have so many fun adventures to look back on 😊
This part of your Oman trip was so good to see! I loved the luxury tent you stayed in, it looked spacious and really beautiful, also the fact you get buffet breakfast and dinner included is actually really good for the price I think! Just makes me want to go to Oman more! Petting a camel was actually so cute! 🥰 also side note for Alison, come to the uk and have something called a Sunday dinner, you can have all the lamb you could want! ;) 🥰🥰🥰 loving Oman you guys!
Petting Sahood (the camel) was maybe the highlight of our stay there! 😂🐪Well, that and the food...and beer...and clean bed...and warm shower...okay, I guess we actually really enjoyed our time at the camp! 😆Definitely hope to be eating lots of Sunday dinners int he future 🤤
Used to live in Oman as expats went there as part of dads work and we visited this place pretty long way from Muscat but definitely worth it since you get air conditioning and your own beds
A shower, good food and beer in the middle of the desert? Priceless As a tip, if you paste a $1000 bill on your forehead the experience gets even better.
Mind you it is even hotter in Oman!! I mean you have the shepards from biblical times, I dunno how the sheep managed. Maybe if they were high up it would be cooler?
Why not splash out 🥰 looks amazing. But i can understand you wanting to “”rough it more 😜 . Lookforward to next video. Well done with kinging it Quiz you both did Amazingly 👏
The Endless Adventure No so true nothing like a little luxury and spoil your selfs time to time . How you both doing in the lockdown ? Finding plenty to do 🤔 take care .
Love your vids. Lamb shouldn't be chewy,. It is normally much more tender than beef. It is also healthier than beef. Room seems good value as it included a great buffet breakfast and dinner. We paid 220 US a night in anchorage for a 2 star room and a very ordinary continental breakfast.
I vote for rooftop tent and camping in the middle of nowhere!!! Oman is the best place for that. Can't wait for the next one, hope for Jebel (not luxurious) Shams!!! ❤
Never underestimate the power of a hot shower after days of camping🛀! Still, like you both communicated, I think I like the idea of tent/car camping over a more luxurious stay. There is something so gratifying and life-affirming to feel so disconnected from the 'civilized' world and feel more connected to the natural world. But I appreciate your willingness to try different experiences to show your viewers the different amenities Oman has to offer! And I'm so happy to see you met some camel friends! 🐪🐪🐪 I can't wait until the next video! 👍
New subscribers here! We absolutely love your videos! Random question, but I’m curious where does Allison get all her amazing skirts from? Adore them! Thanks for providing great content, and I can’t wait to see where you go next when you’re able to travel again!
Hope you guys are staying well! Your travel videos have been a great source of escapism while locked down in the UK. If you ever find yourself in Hastings UK in need of a local guide to the coast let me know!
Omg I can’t believe you paid $8 for a tiger beer haha. In Vietnam I remember they were like .50 cents 😅 this place looks amazing though have to add it to my list
Looks fabulous, have to try a range of experiences, basic to luxury , wouldn’t want either all the time but good to try it all, plus having a good shower.....worth it
Haha, the shower was so nice! We're getting better at roughing it and enjoy pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones, but we definitely still enjoy a nicer experience from time to time 😊
You guys are awesome. I just discovered your channel yesterday. I wish I had known about that trip to Guatape in Colombia earlier this year. I would of loved to go, I'll keep an eye out for future ones. Anyhow stay healthy. And y'all love beer too. My kind of peeps
Wow! That was a crazy trip! I think everyone had an insane story about leaving wherever they were to head back to the US during all this craziness! Glad y’all made it safely though, even if it was drone-less! 😏😉
Me encantan vuestras publicaciones, la calidad de los videos es maravilloso. Me gustaría saber por favor con qué software de video realizáis los títulos, por ejemplo el del inicio de este video, cuál es el programa de edición de títulos, y en concreto ese efecto? Best regards from Spain. Thanks
You’d pay that much for a beer at a concert or sporting event so I wouldn’t bat an eye at the price. It’s all about the convenience and availability. I think the lodging price was definitely worth it, since two meals were included. The room looked spectacular and as you said you’re in the middle of the desert with AC, hot water and a comfy bed. What a great adventure! ❤️🤙🏼
I can see why they charge that much. Building and supporting such a space is probably hard and expensive in the desert. It looks really nice and the food looked delicious. I would probably splurge, especially I'd I had a bunch of sand in my hair from previous nights. Lol
Gorgeous drone shots. How much do you normally spend per night on average? We watch your travels closely as we want to travel full time. We are interested in your travel budget. Your videos are very inspirational. Your quality is outstanding and your on camera personalities are terrific. Allison you are the modern-hipster Samantha Brown.
Thanks so much for the comment, Erin!! 🥰 Hopefully you're able to start traveling soon enough! Nightly costs unfortunately vary dramatically depending on the country and how far in advance we book, but typically we're in a $25-50/night range 👍
I was so invested in this video that it seemed to go by in 5mins rather than 15! You make everything so fun and interesting. We normally wouldn't spend $150 on a hotel, let alone $250; but seeing as the food was included, it might be worth it. I think it depends on a person's comfort level (being in a new environment, sand in cracks, etc) on whether or not it's worth the cost. The room and food did look nice, though!

Two questions 1)how do you drown and drive and the same time im always curious 2)how does it work out with gas once you in dessert out of curiosity please answer
Oman is a beautiful place without doubt. But having lived here for many years I would understand why travellers will be turned off by it because the hotels are unecessarilly pricey and public transportation is poor.Unless those two aspects are improved,It has a long way to go before it can catch up to Srilanka,Pakistan or India in getting travellers or backpackers to visit
Sounds like a great deal for US standards, but that is equivalent to 2X the monthly wage of a full-time employee earning minimum wage there (e.g. the blue collar employees who work at the hotel). Thanks for making and sharing this video. Going to add OMAN and this hotel to my bucket list :)
your should really experience the dessert in Morocco though !! i think it's more authentic with also a lot of luxurious amenities ;) love the Oman series above all, wish you the best of luck guys :) if it happens that you're thinking about morocco at some point hit us up we'll be happy to find a way to collaborate

I have to giggle about the lamb. We have it regularly and i view it as a bit of a budget meat here in Australia. Although we do like to indulge in lamb rack at times which is pricey

Would we stay at a luxury resort in the sand dunes, OH YA! After years of dune bugging in the Mohave Desert, I know how great it would be to be pampered even for just one night without sand in every part of your body! Saying that your video was so great. It was so beautiful and your use of the drone was excellent, especially considering the wind to contend with. Hope you are both doing good. Take Care.
Oh ya, beach sand is one thing, but desert sand is a whole other beast. 😮Definitely enjoyed a night without too much of it in our hair/nose/eyes/ears.... 😅 So glad you're enjoying the Oman adventures. Drones and desert camps are a match made in heaven 😍
umm ali has an interesting story behind it. Umm Ali ordered the dessert to be made when her son became Sultan, after she murdered the Sultana (shajarat al dur) while she was bathing by beating her with wooden sandals. (this is a quick summary, there is a whole back story behind it haha)

meals included, that’s adds to the value

I had no idea lamb wasn't as common in the US, it's a really nice meat when done right
MrKiingpin It’s not that common in restaurants but I buy it in the grocery store about twice a month.
i guess it is too hot there for sheep for the most part
Mind you it is even hotter in Oman!! I mean you have the shepards from biblical times, I dunno how the sheep managed. Maybe if they were high up it would be cooler?
fire up some lamb chop on this grill. all you need is salt, pepper and low-medium heat
@Craig true lol
The jokes though, killing me! That lamb looked so good :D

There is amazing places in Oman, you don’t visit until now. I hope you watched my country nicely and friendly.
the barbican. you should definitely try it if youre in oman
I stayed at this camp 2 years ago. I enjoyed very much, the food was very good
Was it cheaper 2 years ago?
You’d pay that much for a beer at a concert or sporting event so I wouldn’t bat an eye at the price. It’s all about the convenience and availability. To a certain extent. A plumbing system would have been difficult to plan, but architecturally speaking, the buildings seem durable and standard.

It's definitely on my bucket list now

That’s a very reasonable price. Plus you get the meals too.
Those waffles 😍
I've always wondered how you guys expose all your shot so well on the A7iii since it doesnt have a flip out screen! Do you use auto exposure?
I've had those Malt Beverages before. I used to get them at a Middle Eastern grocery store in my college town (before I turned 21). They're not bad, the smell can be a bit funky though if you leave it opened for a while (Like malt vinegar :-/)
Oh weird! We probably should have tried one so we could know! Next time, for sure 👍

Nice video about Oman I like it
Dang that endless desert is wild lookin!
Two questions
1)how do you drown and drive and the same time im always curious
2)how does it work out with gas once you in dessert out of curiosity please answer
Yes of course it is worth it
I am also hopping to go there soon after i finish my Australia tour😊
I'm from Tennessee and I have no plans to go to Oman, but now thanks to you, if I do I'll know to skip the $250.00 a night luxury tent😁

Gotta love luxury!
Where does all the water come from?
Louise Bean this camp has a pipe coming to it from the closest town.

The campsite does look nice but it is kind of expensive maybe $100USD. I can understand about the alcohol being that price because they really don't have that there as much & the food look really good. Be safe.
Awww this is b4 they decided they wanted ur drone.
Having dessert in the desert :p
It seemed overpriced to me. But seeing the meals were also included, I guess it's not too bad.
I don't think it was too bad
The hotel does not look worth 250usd but I believe the high cost due to water be at desert. And is the food included in the price.

Would you say that desert was a bread puddding?
umm ali has an interesting story behind it. Umm Ali ordered the dessert to be made when her son became Sultan, after she murdered the Sultana (shajarat al dur) while she was bathing by beating her with wooden sandals. (this is a quick summary, there is a whole back story behind it haha)
