  • Facing a 21 mile long run, there was really only one shoe I knew I could reach for to get me through the workout. This is the ASICS Superblast after 400 miles.

      First off, it’s blowing my mind to have you in this space, so thank you 🤛🏻 I hear you in the price. But even at the price drop to $200, with its Swiss army nature and the peace of mind I feel like it gives most of its runners, I think you can justify the price tag. $185 would be perfection though, no doubt about it.

    Worth every penny for how durable it is and its versatility. It replaces 2 shoes in a rotation. Great for daily miles and long tempo sessions. You’ll be golden with the Superblast and MetaSpeed Series. I logged 200 miles in it so far. The outsole rubber barely has any wear. The FF Turbo foam really came alive close to 100 miles.

      Superblast is light years better than Invicible. I have them both. Invincible is like running in mud after you've had the Superblast. Every once in a while I will pull the Invincibles out when I want to just go slow. I always get a couple miles in and wish I would have just used the Superblast. They're amazing for every run.

    legs felt good after 34km long run yesterday. my only complain is toe box a bit shallow that my big toe nails hurt a bit during and after that run. i hope the upper opens up after some more mileage. it could be because i went half size down but length and width are good, toebox just a little shallow.

    Hi, Chris. Agree with you regarding everything you’ve mentioned. I bought Superblasts on Indian Independence Day / 15th August and have covered 118km till now in them, the thing is I just feel like I can keep going in them. Truly money we’ll spent even if they were a bit expensive. I love them so much that I might even grab another pair. I’m by no means the fastest runner but I enjoy running in them at all the paces. Anyway nice review and good to know that they hold up pat 400 miles since I intend to use mine till around 1000 Km.
    Anyway keep going and subscribed. I hope your reach more than 1000 even quicker.

      @@user-xo3vm9kx5f Hi! I bought the aquamarine ones since they were the only ones available in store in my size. The colour ways you are looking at are new ones and they have been launched recently. Yeas, they are expensive but I got them for 18,500 since I requested the ASICS sales guy to offer me his employee discount thing. They get 1500 off or something like that. Not sure if it’ll work now but it did that time. As far as the shoes are concerned, I’m still using them and have covered 800 kms in them and for me they are the best shoe that I could get that is not carbon plated. I love them in fact can’t wait to grab another pair just waiting for better colour ways and usually change shoes around 1500 Km mark.

    I loved them but they gave me blisters on my smaller ball of both feet after a 16mile long run. Likely caused by the center piece of rubber with small gravels stuck between the channels. It’s a design flaw preventing people using them if there is any sort of dirt path in their run. The Novablast 3 doesn’t have this issue. The serious contender for this shoe in my opinion is the Triumph 20 and NB SC trainer, although a little heavier.

  • @belisarius2999

    Question, you say that this would be good for finishing the race and feeling comfortable at the end, do most racing shoes also do that? Obvs they go faster but do they protect the legs? Similar foams, also very light. I imagine the vaporfly or Endo pro 3 would do a similar thing?

    • @chris_jonzey
      @chris_jonzey  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! I think what I mean by that is you won’t find yourself hobbling around as much after a race in the Superblast. The Endorphin Pros will definitely take you the whole way, but I personally would be pushing the pace more in those carbon plate racers, and because of that effort and regardless of the racing foam, my legs would be shot on the end. Hope that makes sense in a round about way. Thank you!

    I daresay, will propably still prefer Sauc. Endo Pro 3. Get the green one with the stronger, non-hole upper. Because the original perforated upper is weak. I ripped my first pair after 800km, half of that on trails and poky fields. If u tie em up really tight, they will tear sooner. Otherwise, ES3 (or any other shoe really) is only better for slow miles. IMO.
    Pwrun PB is insanely durable, it just gets softer and a tad lazier with time. Not harder, like most foams. 1k miles is realistic. Outsole is not grippy, but it´s durable.
    Caviat; I am a 58kg runner and I always wanna go fast and far. So the Asics SB may well be better for easy miles, and heavier runners may find PWrun PB too soft.
    I wonder how long I can contain myself before buying Superblast, tough :=) Question, after 400 miles, does FF turbo harden up any?

      The Superblast. It just offers a little bit of everyone and performs well on all of those asks. The Deviate Nitro 2 is super fun, but they can get stuffy and they require a bit more efficiency from the runner to maintain comfort during the long run.

    • @chris_jonzey
      @chris_jonzey  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I would expect them to hold up just fine. The rubber on the outsole can wear down over time, but it has the same feel, same responsiveness that I fell in love with, and I’m over 420 miles in them. It’s a firm shoe, but the layer of FFBlast+ foam counters that well. Hope that helps!
