Asics Superblast vs Asics Novablast 4 | We compare the brand's cushioned cruisers

- The Novablast 4 sees some big changes from the previous version. The biggest of those is the new FF BLAST ECO PLUS foam that aims to provide a softer ride with more energy return when you want to pick up the pace. There’s also an updated shoe geometry that combines the trampoline-inspired midsole with a higher stack of midsole foam.
The Superblast is a daily training shoe that veers towards faster and longer efforts. The midsole combines FFBlast plus, the same foam found in the Novablast 3 and Magic Speed 2, and FF Blast Turbo, Asics speed-focussed cushioning used in the Metaspeed Sky +. That mix of materials aims to deliver a cushioned and responsive ride across a range of training sessions.

Biggest issue with the Superblast is finding them in stock in a colourway that doesn’t look awful 😅

How’s that forefoot cushion?
I have to say that the novablast 4 is an amazing update. I found myself yesterday thinking “is this pretty close to the superblast 🤔🤔🤔🤔”…that’s how much it’s improved. Superblast needs to be run hard to enjoy it. Otherwise just get the novablast..it’s pretty good now
Got the superblasts for christmas. It is really an amazing shoe. It is an absolute joy running in them.

Im on my 2nd pair of super blasts. Love them.
Did you notice any difference in the feel? I loved my first pair but my second pair the foam feels much stiffer
Ive had the Asics Novablast 4 for nearly 4 weeks and they are the best runners ive had.
Ive always been an Asics man and I've usually gone with the Cumulus Gel series. Several weeks ago i decided on a change and ordered a pair of Hoka Clifton 8's. Im so glad Hoka do a 30 day trial and return. After wearing them 3 times i returned them. They were/are awful running shoes. They hurt my arches and the front of my feet ached.
So, i went with the Novablast 4 and boy am i in running heaven. They are a brilliant shoe. Plenty of bounce but a decent amount of firmness also. Slow runs and fast tempo, they are ticking all boxes in the early weeks of running in them.
Im currently training for my 5th Half Marathon which is in September. Hoping the Novablast carry me through to then. Im confident they will.

@@NikhilonYT I'm a size 11 and I have a size 11 ASICS Novablast 4 and they're fine. They fit true to size. But, all feet are different.

Been running in the NB3 for nearly 6 months now and thinking of getting new daily all rounders (long zone 2 runs, tempo runs and long runs) and am torn between the NB4 and Super Blast

Thanks for the review, but you failed to mention durability(Superblast spefically) as a lot of people have commented on other influencers channels that the outsole is poor,and they are basically goosed after 300 miles,which is not really good enough for a daily (super?) trainer at the heavy price they cosr.
Sounds like I need to try the superblasts. Good to hear someone else agrees the novablast 3s are an absolute dead zone. They just take all the fun out of a run by absorbing everything (including motivation) and giving back nothing. And I loved the 2s.
Yeah, I found that it lost all the responsiveness after about 100km's in. Was really disappointed which makes me so weary in wanting to try the Novablast 4's
Is the superblast overkill for easy to faster 5 or 10k or is it that versatility that means it can do it all?

Disappointed in the Novablast V4. Was hoping that it would have that magic that V1 had.
I have a low arch but I want to get these shoes for the cushion. Should I still get it or go with a support shoe for my over pronation? Thanks

£135 vs. £195. They both are priced sensibly.
Bought the Superblast, but even after 80km I don't enjoy them. The shoe is very rigid, difficult to get a good lock-in at the heel and making my arch cramp a bit. Also feels clunky with this huge sole.

I bought a pair of the SB and they are SO stiff. After two runs, both of which ended with knee pain (not a usual problem), I think this whole category is out for me.
The Novoblast has MUCH better durability - important to consider when comparing them.
People online seems to say that superblast is more durable?

Fr tho if these companies would make these type of shoes in “lifestyle” friendly colorways, they would straight put most of Nike and whatever else out of business. You’d never see a Nike Dunk on feet again 😂
Novablast v1 was superb v2 v3 very boring. Superblast the best just can’t find it anywhere to buy in uk.

The Superblast is over 40mm in stack height.
I love love love my superblasts, just went out for a tempo run and knocked off 3 minutes 15 seconds off my 10k pb without necessarily trying. I ordered mine on Amazon and thought they were going to be red but they came bright pink, lol. I have a hoodie with pink and rock the superblasts with it. I’ve had compliments on the pink ones, I’m going to buy another pair. I love how I become 5’10’’ in them too, lol. The best shoe.
The outsoles in these don't have the best grip in wet conditions.
No, Superblast is not expensive. It is better than Novablast, and worth the cost. Novablast is cheap and should be more expensive
In my country I can get both the SB and the NB 3 50% off so the NB 4 is actually more expensive than the SB 😂
??? Why compare superblasts when they are no where to find & purchase??? World shortage. Are they making more???

Pretty sure theres a new colourway on the aus website. It looks like crap but it'll still be good, glad i got the OG colourway!
