How to Stop a Panic Attack (Episode about Anxiety Attacks) - Teal Swan

  • In this episode, Teal explains that a panic attack is the result of a fearful thought, which we are usually unaware of having thought. The thought generates the emotion of fear. But it generates a level of fear which seems "out of context" for what is currently going on in the environment, which in turn, makes you feel crazy.
The fear of loosing control and being crazy adds to the fear, giving rise to a full blown panic attack. The panic causes a cascade of "fight or flight" chemicals to flood the body leading to an array of debilitating symptoms and sensations.
Teal outlines the steps to stopping a panic attack when you find yourself having one. It is possible to stop a panic attack, naturally and learn very valuable information from them about what is right and wrong for you personally!

i love her because she's gone through something i can relate to and she's not all "happy happy joy joy" , she's real she's relatable. it can b hard to follow spiritual people who i feel haven't gone through any life threatening physical/emotional trauma. good bless her.

I can relate with your comment.
There are people in spiritual communities that never had to go through what we've been through, that's why I think they are prone to positivity and happy-go-lucky lifestyle. I don't criticize them but I recognize that not everyone will relate with those kind of spiritual groups and its practice. Teal is raw in her approach and realistic without being pessimistic. Her work gives me hope and a great sense of self-accountability, which is powerful and empowered.

Few years back this video helped me with weird anxiety I had for months. Within 10 minutes I was healed. Here's what I did: after the video, I turned off my PC and sat on my bed. Then I started to analyze the "darkness" that was the anxiety itself. Instead of trying to not think about it, I welcomed it and analyzed, went deeper and deeper with each new piece of knowledge. I swear, I got to the bottom of the layers and my anxiety was gone for next few years - all withing about 10 minutes. Don't force it, ANALYZE IT and ask questions. Thanks Teal and I hope my story will help someone.

Thank you for your comment. I just did the same and at the bottom of it I found that a part of me believed that I didn't deserve to be happy. As if I was sabotaging my happiness. I now remember that I am loved and that I deserve to be happy. Everyone does. I hope you have a blessed day!

One of my variations of a panic attack was that I would start getting nauseous in the grocery store and start feeling lightheaded. One day I decided to just fully experience the feeling because I realized it must be a panic attack and not some physical ailment that was going to kill me. So I stood there in the soup aisle and just felt my nauseousness. It was like a wave flowing over and through me. I remained allowing and it began to dissipate within about 10 seconds. I was amazed! I now had solid evidence that releasing resistance DOES work! So now I do that anytime it happens and it happens less often these days. Last week in the spice aisle, it started again but I immediately went into the feeling and allowed it and comforted it and it went away quickly and I was fine after that. It's very empowering to experience that. Now, the next time, I need to ask it what it wants me to know. I think I already know but I want to ask it to be sure. Thank you, Teal.

panic attacts while flying, driving etc. really have nothing to do with crashing or the fear of flying, it has to do with not being in control and not being able to get out of the situation if you want to...............you cannot leave a plane if you're in a panic while flying, or jump out of a vehicle. It's not the situaltion, but rather the control.

Finding the thinking that caused it at the moment is the problem for me. It seems like ( out of the blue ) my body just starts to gang up on me. My nose gets blocked forcing me to breath erratically and then maudlin starts. I just found Teal Scott today and already she is empowering me.

its important to not as-well that people who experience panic attacks are actually advanced human beings, remember neo when he was freed form the matrix? his journey to find his true self? sliding down that hole (rabbit hole) to discover himself. these attacks are pre cursors to revealing of the true power within the self for those who are ready

I suffered for years from panic attacks. One day, instead of trying to make it stop, I invited it to take me over (which I thought might kill me, but decided so be it then). I basically said C'mon MORE MORE & tried to make it bigger....and it stopped immediately! That was nearly 20 years ago & since then I think I've had a tiny tingle of anxiety exactly 2 times, which I welcomed in the same way so it lasted like 1 second. Now I can have my blood sugar any which way, OD on caffeine, be massively sleep-deprived, and I may feel every kind of crappy but NEVER feel fear. I've used this same principle I call "surrender" a lot in my life since that experience, and have found it to be the antidote to all forms of suffering.

My panic attacks do not come from a thought. They come out of nowhere. They wake me from a sound sleep some times.

Thank you, Teal! Really benefited from your insight! I'm new at having panic attacks (up to two per day). I know the reason I'm having these attacks, a medical condition I want the answers to NOW!! My impatience has lead to fear and then to panic. But, some of the things I find helpful besides deep breathing is making my environment humorous! I try, as fearful as I am and thoughts I'm going to die, make myself laugh!! This may not work for everyone. But, I find that the more humorous my environment (comedy shows from TH-cam) the less I take my attack as SO BLASTED SERIOUS! No, it WILL pass!! Soft music helps also with deep breathing!

Excellent advice! In the midst of very debilitating panic attacks a wise woman told me this same thing - she sat with me & asked if I could make it happen - panic. I didn't want to think about it. She encouraged me to have one, told me not to try and stop it, just let it happen, release resistance, welcome it - she said I would be fine and she would be right there. I trusted her enough to do it and what I learned was exactly as Teal describes, "cured" by welcoming it rather than fearing it.

I am not sure what your training is for this, but you are "right on" in every area here. I had horrible panics, and I moved passed them by using your steps. This was many years ago, and it took me quite a period of time to find all this information.
Thanks for sharing this with those poor individuals who deal with this daily!!!

When I have a panic attack it is both the terribly intense emotion, but also an overflow of negative thoughts attacking. And when it happens, I feel like it's just like I'm taken over and it spirals out of control and I cannot even think. It's intense

I'm thankful for the experience for it helped shine light on the dark corners in my soul that's holding me back from my greatest potential.
    Thanks Teal for the video.

I've been suffering with panic attacks and anxiety since I was a teen. I'm in my mid 20s now. I was finally diagnosed with GAD about a year ago. They prescribed me Xanax told me to get a therapist and that was all. I suffer every day. I feel like I'm always sick. Like something is always wrong with me. I've been in and out of the emergency room, they've done xrays, blood test, heart test...and have found nothing. I convince myself that they're wrong and nor doing something right because they're missing something. I drive myself crazy every day just worrying about how the day is going to go. I stay in my room because I'm too afraid to do anything. I'm terrified of being alone. I'm afraid I'll have a panic attack alone or something will happen to me and no one will be there. I think I'm making myself sick now with all the worry. My blood pressure is shooting up because I literally don't know how to calm down. There's not a day I feel calm or relaxed. Not a day. I'm always on edge. I'm always freaking out about something. Living on my own doesn't help. I had a panic attack the other night and now I'm afraid to be alone again. Because I know it'll happen again. I feel like I'm crazy and I see the world differently from everyone else. Everything always seems surreal...like I'm always in a dream like state..I forgot how to live...I just want to feel normal.

Monica Marie I almost felt like I wrote this post while reading it, its just like me. I hope you're better now and I hope I and everyone else gets better soon. I don't think pills like xanax or SSRI medications are the way to get better, just sicker.

    • @TheRumble101
      @TheRumble101 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Monica Marie - I have had this disorder for 43 yrs- and when I was reading your post- I swear to you,I felt like I was reading my life at your age. The Money I spent- the doctors I seen- emergency rooms- uggg- felt like I was in hell. Every thing you said-I have been through- and still am. I was on no medication at your age- and was hoping to get over it myself. I tried methods the psychartrist would give me- did not work. They talk about relax, breathe, etc- and I am like WHAT- I can not even think right now. I get so focused on that feeling that it intensifies. I want someone with me- but I don't want them to talk. Everything they say is not helping and only makes t worse.
I know its been 6 months since you posted this- how are things now? I have been waking up every morning with a panic attack- and what makes it more miserable is I have to be at work at 5am and I still am in panic mode when I leave. If a doctor told me that they could get rid of these attacks for the rest of your life- be panic free- but we need to take your arm off- with no hesitation- I would have them take my arm. That is how bad mine are.

Sammi-I am a Spiritual Person- and everything you said -is also my belief.I have 3 of the 4 crystals you have. I will try it- really hope it works for me.
But still would give my right arm to be rid of panic attacks 4ever.
