I dig the sightline illustration you inserted. Powertoys has been a godsend for my transition from multi-monitor to ultrawide, but unfortunately applications like Unreal only have their primary window respect the snapping, but not any secondary windows they may spawn. I also encountered the same inconsistent wake-up behavior with the AOC, sometimes with my login prompt showing up sideways on my second portrait monitor. And like you, a dance with power cycling returns the ultrawide to being recognized as the primary. Right now I’m eyeballing the Alienware QD-OLED for my personal setup. It’s only 21:9 instead of 32:9, but that’s probably ultimately better for gaming purposes, not only for a reduction in pixels that need to be driven but also to keep UI elements within the center field of view for games who anchor them to corners instead of the center of the screen.
Hey, yes I'm still using it daily and like it a lot. I think for productivity use it need to be paired with PowerToys, but for things like gaming and video editing it's absolutely amazing.
good video! I have a question and I hope you can help me, I want to buy one of these monitors for productivity due to its size and image quality, specifically I want to buy the mini led model, but I have seen very bad reviews of the last 2 g9, both the one you have and the one mini led. Do you really recommend these monitors? Haven't they given you any problems?
Great question. The only problems I have experienced so far is the issue on wake. Recently that issue has gone away entirely, which leads me to believe it was a driver issue in Windows 11. I use this daily with Power Toys and love it for work, video editing, and gaming.
@@gnshoot that's a steep price for any monitor from my perspective. Like I said in the video I waited until it was on sale and then had a coupon code, plus an employee discount. It shaved over $700 off the price. I would personally wait until a sale, but it's all personal preference.

Thanks man. Love using PowerToys now. Much preferred to Windows built-in snapping.
Hi. Could you please give an update, are you still happy with this monitor? I consider to buy like that soon

I was wondering if the Odyssey was worth buying for productivity. Thank you for the honest review. 😇
Not the best use case, but the other benefits make me deal with the minor inconveniences. If I was in a finance role, I would buy it immediately.

@@StephenHelwigTalksTech The mini led version in my country costs me approximately $1750. Do you think this monitor justifies the price?

Are you still using this monitor today?
Every single day.
8:34 now this tell how large it is.
Exactly. The scale is hard to capture on video, but when you use this thing in person it's absolutely massive.
Friend, is everything working fine on it?
So far so good. Even the issue of it not coming back on has been resolved. Must have been some kind of firmware update.
