Allan Daniel Serrano indeed I’m American and I am considered unusual because I don’t like fast food and I like just about every foreign food I try. Americans need to learn to be less picky. I went to a Russian restaurant and the food was delicious.
I really don’t like this kind of videos. Every cuisine of the world is special and with ancient traditions, I don’t like laughing at other culture’s food, if I don’t like something about a new dish I try, is alright but I don’t have to make a fuss about it. Travel more and grow up.
I think you are totally right! I like what I like and that’s the end of it. Don’t have to criticize the food that is not part of your heritage, simple is that.
Why is fussing about food about culture? It's funny when people react. There's a reason "people eating really hot things" is a whole range of videos. Also Americans eating American foods from the 70s. These guys tried everything fairly, hated some things openly and with others, were incredibly complimentary, even though they went in with skepticism. I was wrong about Haggis; I was right about greenland shark.

The Russians interactions with Persia/Iran and the Muslim world in general it's even possible that both dishes started out in Persia or might have been left following one of the occupations of the Russians , both the British and the Russians occupied Iran in world war 2. The truth is that food is one of those bridges that alot of cultures have in common. To Americans, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries all the world provides our favorite foods ,people who don't know us criticize us but damn it we can and do take the best foods from around the world and try them our openness to new things has brought more options for food than almost any country on this planet,in America we have foods from every corner of the world!
So I've been watching a lot of "Americans try..." videos lately and here are a few things I noticed about Americans (this does not apply to everybody but is just based on what I've seen in these kind of videos): 1.they like food with a lot of sugar in it 2.they seem to not really like fish (sushi is an exception), or meats that are not pig, cow or chicken 3.they like cheese, but not all of them, more like, cheese flavoured stuff and one of those melting kind 4.they are very picky about vegetables, what kind and how they are prepared 5.they don't like stuff that's dry or too bready (has a lot of bread in it?) 6.very judgemental of how the food looks/is presented on a plate (this one is honestly the only one that bothers me because alot of them miss out on the experience of trying new food because they are too focused on how it looks) -tbh i don't think any of these are negative things, except no.6, but it does help us foreigners understand better what tipe of food Americans like and don't like.... very fascinating
Oh, for heaven's sake, this mismash is neither scientific nor broadly observational, just some blowhard's grab for attention. I see nothing in the report that is even remotely related to American practice or, worse, at all true.

Why is fussing about food about culture? It's funny when people react. There's a reason "people eating really hot things" is a whole range of videos. Also Americans eating American foods from the 70s. Get OVER it and YOU grow up! People are not going to like other people's food, its THAT simple. Not every culture cooks good for it. Everyone has different taste and taste buds.

The Russians interactions with Persia/Iran and the Muslim world in general it's even possible that both dishes started out in Persia or might have been left following one of the occupations of the Russians , both the British and the Russians occupied Iran in world war 2.

So I've been watching a lot of "Americans try..." videos lately and here are a few things I noticed about Americans (this does not apply to everybody but is just based on what I've seen in these kind of videos):
1.they like food with a lot of sugar in it
2.they seem to not really like fish (sushi is an exception), or meats that are not pig, cow or chicken
3.they like cheese, but not all of them, more like, cheese flavoured stuff and one of those melting kind
4.they are very picky about vegetables, what kind and how they are prepared
5.they don't like stuff that's dry or too bready (has a lot of bread in it?)
6.very judgemental of how the food looks/is presented on a plate (this one is honestly the only one that bothers me because alot of them miss out on the experience of trying new food because they are too focused on how it looks)
-tbh i don't think any of these are negative things, except no.6, but it does help us foreigners understand better what tipe of food Americans like and don't like.... very fascinating
Good observation sir 🤘
We're picky, we live in a country with a metric shitload of food options. We can choose what we like.
Most of this is not true like the fish one i have seen so many people who love fish
Oh, for heaven's sake, this mismash is neither scientific nor broadly observational, just some blowhard's grab for attention. I see nothing in the report that is even remotely related to American practice or, worse, at all true.
