I'm a Black man raised in South Central Los angeles.
What many don't know in the 70s we had bands in every block.
I was raised listening to this song.
It has always been one of my absolute favorites.
My older brother would pick me up from school in his Couger, blasting this cut.

"Takin Care Of Buisness" and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was great by this awesome group
"Hey You" is pretty cool too.
"Roll on Down the Highway" is a good one, too.
One BTO track that's often overlooked is "Take It Like A Man".
Additionally, they had a couple of slower, jazzy cuts, "Lookin' Out For #1" and "Blue Collar".
This is my favorite, though.
The song was inspired by a car accident with a truck. Everyone was fine, so a driver said to just "let it ride".
These guys were bad ass. They look like they came on down from a mountain somewhere in the Northern Territory, and just started rockin.

Great song with Fred Turner on vocals.One cool thing about BTO is both Randy Bachman and Fred Turner sang lead on different songs.You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet features Randy on lead vocals.And Robbie Bachman,Randy's brother on drums.Tim Bachman,another brother also played guitar at times.
BTO never gets the respect they deserve. Should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Randy Bachman was also a corner stone if The Guess Who and has many great guitar riffs to his credit.

This is my favorite tune from BTO and really kicks ass but has to be cranked 😎
All the band members have more talent in one finger than a lot of people will ever have in their whole lives. The singer's voice, the harmonies, the drumming, the guitars. Amazing! Sometimes you just have to enjoy the music for the music and not try to decipher the lyrics.
Early 70s Band from Canada. BTO as they were called, was a Band that branched off of "The Guess Who" (American Woman No Sugar). They had a nice run into the late 70s.

Randy wrote The New Mother Nature..Burton wrote No Sugar Tonight. Great bridge to connect the two songs. Most people thought it was one song. In reality it was two short songs bridged together to make one song.
@@ricknblueridge You have that backwards. Randy wrote No Sugar. Burton wrote New Mother Nature. There are live versions of them doing their own song without the other. Check out the Guess Who's post Randy Bachman's version of New Mother Nature. It's like a different song. There's a version of Randy doing No Sugar Tonight with the Ringo Starr All-Starr Band.

BTO was a great band. I saw them in 1975 after the Bachman brothers (Who had left The Guess Who) and Fred Turner formed Bachman Turner Overdrive.
My favorite BTO song is “Not Fragile”, from the album by the same name.

Great band with lots of hits. Saw them on a tour opening for Van Halen in the 80s and they were recording some live tracks. They were so loud I had to go out in the Vending/Restroom area of the coliseum...lol. Side note: Randy Bachman grew up down the street from Lenny Breau, one of the greatest guitarists that's ever walked the planet - I think Lenny taught him some things early on.
Lenny was a huge influence on Randy....Even with the Guess Who, Randy showed his jazz licks...!

@@jordan390a I think Randy still protects Lenny's legacy when it's brought up. No way to measure it, but Lenny may have been the most versatile player to ever pick up a guitar. Could literally play any style.
Oh yeah, did you know that Van Halen picked BTO as their support for that tour because they reckoned that after the audience had sat through a set of BTO's greatest hits, they would be in a good mood and not bash and boo at Van Halen's then new singer Sammy Hagar - had they previously been so inclined? As it turned out, Van Halen had no cause for concern, "5150" becoming an instantly huge album and the band's first #1 in the US, but I still think it's a great story.

Check out Blue Collar - who would think these guys could also do some amazing jazz? How that song isn't a 70's classic, I have no idea; perhaps it deviates too much from their image. Their masterpiece, imo.

Fred Turner was best man at my sister's wedding. Fred and my brother in law played in bands together back in the 60's. He plays bass with BTO, but back then he was an amazing lead guitar player.
He still has that awesome voice all these years later.

This group formed when The Guess Who disbanded and Randy Bachman was one of the main songwriters from The Guess Who.
I don't think they disbanded, Bachman left for whatever reason, saw the Guess who in 76 with Dominic Triano I believe it was their second last concert, was in Hamilton Ontario. Not saying that they weren't apart for a time, if they did I never knew or heard about it.
Check out Brave Belt, the band Randy formed with the first Guess Who singer, Chad Allen. Fred Turner joined after the first album, Chad left, and then they turned into Bachman Turner Overdrive.

Just a great song. BTO was one of my favorite groups. I was 13.
Saw them live in Winterland. Opening band was Styx. Best concert I ever went too. The loudest too.
Seeing that disco ball brought me all the way back to my first concert ever.

These guys were panned by the heavier rock groups and their fans back then

Back in the day, Deejays used to call them "Bachman Turner Overweight". Randy and Fred were big dudes. But when the music is this good you don't have to be traditionally handsome.

Old white guy of 62 from Canada here. BTO is a Canadian band that was HUGE when I was a youngster and a teen. Summers at the lake with BTO (and all the other cool bands of the day) blastin' on the radio.

The lead singer was Fred Turner. When this song was released in 1973 there were three Bachman's in the group. Those three were Randy (the lead guitarist), Robbie (the drummer), and Tim (guitarist, vocals). By the way the other BTO song Y'all reacted to was "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". Now you need to do there second hit that "Let It Ride" was on. That song is called "Taking Care of Business". Two others that you might find real good are "Hey You" and "Roll on Down the Highway". All of these are still heard on Classic Rock Stations here in the U.S. Thank you Asia and BJ for your reaction to this song.

This one takes me back to the summer of '74 and Pop Warner football.
1974- it was in heavy rotation on AM radio.
Randy was one half of the Bachman/Cummings team that fronted The Guess Who.
Great song! It's also in the movie "Invincible" with Mark Wahlberg.
you know they were, not sure if still are but were recently still touring...they have those vids on here somewhere if you were interested in checking them out, they still sound awesome.... and yep, the base player doing lead here still has a strong voice
