Definitely looks weak but he doesn’t eat any of the standard offerings so it’s never a fair analysis of the food for 95% of us
It’s because it was catered out of New York
It would be the catering at JKF not the airline itself, which is why he recommended the flight in reverse - Singapore to NY
Imagine spending big $$$ for Singapore business class, to receive this weak as fk experience
Its better to order a special meal. At least that is usually a lot better as its not the standard meal intended for the flight. For example getting a halal, kosher, etc.

That is not the longest flight, is it??? I thought it would be much longer 😅
Veggie options on a plane are also very hit or miss. Aunt took the same flight a few months ago and raved about the oxtail and lamb she had.
Knowing what other airlines feed you that honestly doesn’t look all that bad.
Fly with Sauid Airlines or Emirates next time. The desserts are absolutely deelish!!
@@rashakhan7693 I can vouch for Saudia having excellent dessert either way. The rest though is a gamble.😆

True
My husband used to work for one of the airline catering companies in the US, the reason the food looks sad is because economy, business, and first get their food from the exact same kitchen. There’s almost no difference.
Why does the kitchen make such horrible food
Also has to do with how much the airline itself wants to spend on food, I’d imagine the food catering is way more expensive in New York being an “outstation” for Singapore Air than it would be if it was stationed out of Singapore, where the airline gets government subsidizes likely for catering to boost local grocery markets as well as just having higher standards of food. Same thing happens on ships both military and civilian. Depending on what port of call is taken determines what food is available to get resupplied with, and typically US is notorious for being expensive for resupply as well as having more poor quality stocks.
So why can't they add seasoning to the boiled veggies. How can you eat rice with boiled veggies? I don't think any country has tradition of eating rice and booled veggies . At least serve some Achar, or chutney or kimchi or anything similar that's available in the pantry
@@Phoenix.219A packet of powdered Hollandaise sauce over the veg & rice would look very nice.
Not enough calories for 19 hours Flight. Hope they can buy/pack their own meals & drinks.

Nothing amazing about white rice and plainly boiled vegetables lol. That sht didn't even look like they added and salt/pepper, much less actual seasoning. SG catering really does put this to shame. This is business class. Also US to Asia flights often cost at least 1K to 2K due to distance. With the flight cost he should have better food at least. Even Quatar Air economy food for long international flights is better than the food shown.

Is it really fair to review the entire catering offering on the flight based on a specialist subset of the menu?
No, which is why I mostly stopped watching the food part of his reviews. Shorts just played this one.
But seriously, most airlines really struggle with their dietary restriction meals and they are not a good indicator of the normal food quality of that airline.
Completely agree!
That was so sad… you need to try Qatar airlines business class food
No it's not fair to judge the entire catering catalog but it does give people who have dietary restrictions an idea what to expect. That may not be relevant to everyone but it's very helpful for those of us who it applies to.
