We have an unofficial handheld from Xbox, it's the ROG ALLY its amazing! It even comes with Xbox gamepass! so far GTA5 runs at a good 45-70 fps depending on if your online or not, at higher resolutions. You guys should get one, it's perfect for PS2 emulation! And it also runs every game really well, some even at 120fps!
Regarding Wukong...early PC reviewers were saying that the game would crash after about a half-hour to an hour after gameplay had started until they got the day-one patch early. That type of crashing is consistent with a memory leak. Series S' relatively small memory size would make that sort of bug go bad much faster. Positive side of things, developer addressed it in the day-one patch on PC.
Yup I can say I am one of those PC people. Wukong plays better now for me, but still crashes randomly. I had a PS5 copy & got a refund. Sticking with PC. Too bad nobody wants to talk about this. Instead it’s always “Xbox bad”

I suspect that, much like the delay with Balder's Gate 3, Black Myth Wukong's delay issue will be resolved by sometime November. The only difference between these two situations is that Balder's Gate 3 was not a game for me at all, and therefore I didn't have to wait for that game to release on Xbox, while this time, the game that got delayed is made damn-near *exclusively* for me and thus, a game I have to wait for. How sad. Can't wait to soothe my heartache with Final Fantasy 16 after it drops on PC next month! 😂😂
FYI Wukong was released with that bug and it affects primarily AMD chipsets. Its the reason why the PS5 version runs so bad and also tends to crash. Same with AMD cards on PC. And a memory leak bug is never the fault of the hardware. Why do you think there are only 6 reviews of Black Myth for PS5? The game ist not optimized for AMD at all. They're concealing the issues.
If they really was concealing it they would have done what BG3 did stagger the releases of pc and ps5 so they could fix the issue. Considering the memory min specs for pc is higher then Series S capacity it quite easy see what issue is.

The idea of an Xbox handheld is something that excited me everytime it gets brought up. If it has the power of the ROG Ally but runs the Xbox OS instead of windows, were going to have one of the best handheld consoles ever made. It would literally be able to play our entire Xbox libraries on the console which for me is the most important part. I dont want dumbed down mobile games, i want to start a game on my Series X save my state and pick right back up on my handheld. We are at that point where that possibility is no longer theoretical, it can and will happen. The best part is that Xbox uses AMD for its last 2 generations of consoles, they have a unique opportunity to continue work with theor partner to bring a handheld Xbox to fruition with an AMD chipset thats capable of running modern games as well as emulating older games. Part of what i love most about my Series X is that i can play so many of my Xbox 360 games on it. PLEASE Xbox make this a dream come true from the millions of Xbox gamers who want a handheld Xbox to play our libraries wherever we go! Happy gaming ✌️
PS5 Pro is pointless for me as I barely use the one I currently own, so no thanks. Id rather see a price drop on the current lineup so my friends still stuck on PS4 could upgrade. Id be interested in a PS or Xbox handheld though. I like taking my games with me but other than the Series S, these new consoles aren’t very portable.
After *ANOTHER* PS5 price increase in Japan, I'm beginning to think Sony may not release a PS5 Pro. This generation Sony has proven that no matter what they do, fans have already hitched themselves to the PS brand & will not move off no matter what. They can rest on their laurels & sit comfortably on top, raising prices on games, hardware, services, whatever, and people will not move to the competition. So why put out a $600 - $700 "Pro" model that will cost them even more money to produce? Apparently they're still losing on PS5's at this point & need to raise its price, so no need to dig a bigger hole. MS has no intention of an Xbox Series XX or whatever, they're outselling Xbox while releasing next to no games themselves (or Concord), and are locked in at the top. They may have planned for a Pro being needed, but the market is telling them "we're stuck with you no matter what you do."

I actually play through season 1 trophies but after seeing that there was no improvement in season 2 and the lack of any true progression I moved on to other games worth my time. Concept might have worked if it had more enticing loot system and better pve experience.
I think most of these game companies need to focus on 1 player games and then if the game has a potential to be online multiplayer work on that secondly because this just crazy

Phil Spencer himself said that he wants an Xbox handheld to be able to play games locally. He said he loves with ROG Ally and he believes games are better when ran locally which to me is EXTREMELY important for the upcoming handhelds. The Z1 extreme AMD APU is powerful enough to run most modern games at a respectable frames. If you look at the new AMD strix Halo APUs that features the Radeon 890m iGPU, these are more powerful than certain dedicated graphics cards. They have up to 16 compute units of RDNA 3.5 graphics cores and have a TDP of 15w-54w which means we can genuinely get next gen performance from a low wattage APU. Certain tests have already showed that at 15w it surpasses most iGPU running at much higher TDP's. This is tanks to the Zen 5 CPU combined with more compute units of RDNA 3.5 graphics. If Xbox is able to get something similar into a handheld with a 20w TDP i really feel like we could have a special Xbox handheld that will blow people away. Im definitely excited 😅
What would really help Xbox get a jump in handheld market is to make sure that you can have a gamer friendly cellular plan with the handheld where you don't have to worry about only wifi have lowest plan 150gigs on up
I think its about time we give props to Platform holders for delaying games coming to their platform if they're not up to standard. Not play with words about sales. Everyone rejoiced when Sony pulled Cyberpunk from their marketplace due to tech issues, why do people have a problem when Xbox enforces strict rules to not allow broken games on their store? I dont care how long it takes, I'll wait for the WuKong to be fixed before I invest in it. Good on Xbox for standing their ground.
Handhelds have existed for a long time, so its not like this is some new market. This is not the beginning. Nintendo has made more models of handhelds than stand-alone consoles. I still have my Gameboy Advance SP in great condition. A smartphone is also a portable gaming device and is the biggest threat to the traditional handheld gaming system. 12:16 I think forcing devs to build games for the Series S will help build up that library of games that run on the handheld. That said, the specs of the Series S is a beast in comparison to a handheld today.
Personally, owning the Switch, steam deck and Legion go, the LeGo is my favorite handheld. The controllers are better than joycons, biggest screen and I haven't ran into any problems playing Steam , Gamepass pc and egs games. It gets about as much play time as my home consoles.
I want to like handhelds. I bought Steamdeck and have had it since the September 2022. I barely use it. Couple times in the plane, about 10 times in the car and a little at home and about 15 times at work. I even bought a dock for the TV and hooked up a bluetooth controller but still can't get into it. I also have a PC hooked up to my TV (not ideal) but I like just turning on a console and not having to have an update, messing with game settings or waiting for a PC to boot.
I have all the consoles PS5 for single player story driven exclusives switch for indies and platform games, Xbox for everything else inc live service games.
You see how bad the PS5 version of the game is and ya'll want Xbox to just release the game because of hype even when the game will play like shit on the console. You guys would rather be part of the hype than have a good game. But if it was Xbox releasing a game this broken ya'll would crucify them. Smfh
There's no point on handhelds from Sony or XB, this companies clearly can not maintain 2 different catalogs. Even Nintendo was force to merge their normal and portables catalogs into a single things. XB and PS can barely release games for a single system.

I'm actually staying with my PS5 Slim really I don't feel like upgrading, but it's definitely going to be great for players who have been waiting for the pro for a while. Xbox coming out with its own handheld would definitely intrigued my interest considering I love handheld consoles more than I love traditional home consoles especially since I travel a lot, I'll definitely buy it day one
When there's already plenty of good F2P titles, making a worse game and asking for people to pay for it is just ludicrous. Micro transactions are where the income comes from for those, making your customers to pay for the right to become your customer is not a great business model.
Memory leaks happen on every computer device so it isnt a Series S problem. Sony cant even put out 1st party games for the PS5 and they are even releasing a Pro model. Devs can barely handle the S/X and PS5 adding on 2 more skews is gonna be alot of work for already struggling devs.
Can't or don't need to? Just this year alone they had 6-8 exclusives and at least 2-3 to stlll come to release a 1st party would only cannibalize those games. Making them exclusive meaningless and anger partners.

The handheld marker has changed since the steam deck. There can no longer be a ps vita playing mobile versions of games. We want full fledged games but that will be impossible when they’re already trying to move away from ps4 and Xbox1. So imagine buying a ps vita 2 that can’t play the latest PlayStation games. How would you even market that?
I actually planning to get one of my own in the future. In other words, I'm makin the switch to PC gaming. (On the account of the ninth gen console gaming isn't as fun as the previous that followed 3rd to 6th, even 7th and 8th) It'll be a bit slow, but it'll be worth it.

It must be a major memory leak. That said, I'm curious why resolving the memory leak(s) would take so long. Did the devs not do any profiling of the build along the way. Its likely not any one point in the code but a series of points where they just aren't managing memory properly. Also, isn't there also a timed exclusivity deal with Playstation? I just find it hard to believe that a studio that is so talented to make this game for all consoles need a long time to resolve some memory leaks. Also remember that BG3 wasn't delayed because something like a memory leak. It was due to parity of multiplayer between the Series S and X, which is a bigger technical hurdle.

Handhelds are either a generation behind or are really expensive like the ROG Ally X. I think you are wrong, you are NOT going to get a next gen powerful handheld for the price of the current series S !!!! If it's true that the series S sells way more than the series X (we will see what happens when GTA 6 comes out) then the next xbox generation will have to have a cheap new version of the series S. The handheld is probably going to be a totally separate product line. It will probably be the same power as a current series S with more memory to reduce developer complaints. It will have it's own certification process. The handheld product line will not be linked to the TV console generations.

It is however SE fault for expecting it to exceed remake sales considering it a sequel and people will not play it till finish the first game. remake sold 7 mil copies on ps4/5 and only 1.5mil on pc so it being multiplate really didn't open floodgates on sales of the first game.

Congrats for the developer of Wukong on their game. But I will wait to buy Wukong on a sale on Xbox when it does come out. Their will be two many new games out by the end of the year. So for me it missed its window and I'm willing to wait just like BG3.

I actually play through season 1 trophies but after seeing that there was no improvement in season 2 and the lack of any true progression I moved on to other games worth my time. Concept might have worked if it had more enticing loot system and better pve experience.
I think most of these game companies need to focus on 1 player games and then if the game has a potential to be online multiplayer work on that secondly because this just crazy
2 problem with this size of a team for online game is different then size for single player. 2nd and more importantly investors what quarterly returns a singleplayer game you only have big surge in profits every 4 possibly even 8 years.

Phil Spencer himself said that he wants an Xbox handheld to be able to play games locally. He said he loves with ROG Ally and he believes games are better when ran locally which to me is EXTREMELY important for the upcoming handhelds. The Z1 extreme AMD APU is powerful enough to run most modern games at a respectable frames.
If you look at the new AMD strix Halo APUs that features the Radeon 890m iGPU, these are more powerful than certain dedicated graphics cards. They have up to 16 compute units of RDNA 3.5 graphics cores and have a TDP of 15w-54w which means we can genuinely get next gen performance from a low wattage APU. Certain tests have already showed that at 15w it surpasses most iGPU running at much higher TDP's. This is tanks to the Zen 5 CPU combined with more compute units of RDNA 3.5 graphics.
If Xbox is able to get something similar into a handheld with a 20w TDP i really feel like we could have a special Xbox handheld that will blow people away. Im definitely excited 😅
What would really help Xbox get a jump in handheld market is to make sure that you can have a gamer friendly cellular plan with the handheld where you don't have to worry about only wifi have lowest plan 150gigs on up
They tried in Europe with free streaming, but it were declared illegal as smaller competitors were unable to provide streaming for free.

I think its about time we give props to Platform holders for delaying games coming to their platform if they're not up to standard. Not play with words about sales. Everyone rejoiced when Sony pulled Cyberpunk from their marketplace due to tech issues, why do people have a problem when Xbox enforces strict rules to not allow broken games on their store? Handhelds have existed for a long time, so its not like this is some new market. This is not the beginning. Nintendo has made more models of handhelds than stand-alone consoles. I still have my Gameboy Advance SP in great condition. A smartphone is also a portable gaming device and is the biggest threat to the traditional handheld gaming system.
12:16 I think forcing devs to build games for the Series S will help build up that library of games that run on the handheld. That said, the specs of the Series S is a beast in comparison to a handheld today.
Personally, owning the Switch, steam deck and Legion go, the LeGo is my favorite handheld. The controllers are better than joycons, biggest screen and I haven't ran into any problems playing Steam , Gamepass pc and egs games. It gets about as much play time as my home consoles.
I want to like handhelds. I bought Steamdeck and have had it since the September 2022. I barely use it. Couple times in the plane, about 10 times in the car and a little at home and about 15 times at work. I even bought a dock for the TV and hooked up a bluetooth controller but still can't get into it.
I also have a PC hooked up to my TV (not ideal) but I like just turning on a console and not having to have an update, messing with game settings or waiting for a PC to boot.
A $400-$500 series s powered oled handheld that you could dock would be a game changer for MS

There's no point on handhelds from Sony or XB, this companies clearly can not maintain 2 different catalogs. Even Nintendo was force to merge their normal and portables catalogs into a single things. XB and PS can barely release games for a single system.
Castlevania is Konami, but yes, I couldn’t be happier to be playing it today on Series X, in what has proven to be yet another year where it’s the third parties propping up the platform.
I'm actually staying with my PS5 Slim really I don't feel like upgrading, but it's definitely going to be great for players who have been waiting for the pro for a while. Xbox coming out with its own handheld would definitely intrigued my interest considering I love handheld consoles more than I love traditional home consoles especially since I travel a lot, I'll definitely buy it day one

When there's already plenty of good F2P titles, making a worse game and asking for people to pay for it is just ludicrous. Micro transactions are where the income comes from for those, making your customers to pay for the right to become your customer is not a great business model.

Memory leaks happen on every computer device so it isnt a Series S problem. Sony cant even put out 1st party games for the PS5 and they are even releasing a Pro model. Devs can barely handle the S/X and PS5 adding on 2 more skews is gonna be alot of work for already struggling devs.
Can't or don't need to? Just this year alone they had 6-8 exclusives and at least 2-3 to stlll come to release a 1st party would only cannibalize those games. Making them exclusive meaningless and anger partners.

The handheld marker has changed since the steam deck. There can no longer be a ps vita playing mobile versions of games. We want full fledged games but that will be impossible when they’re already trying to move away from ps4 and Xbox1. So imagine buying a ps vita 2 that can’t play the latest PlayStation games. How would you even market that?

It must be a major memory leak. That said, I'm curious why resolving the memory leak(s) would take so long. Did the devs not do any profiling of the build along the way. Its likely not any one point in the code but a series of points where they just aren't managing memory properly.
Also, isn't there also a timed exclusivity deal with Playstation? I just find it hard to believe that a studio that is so talented to make this game for all consoles need a long time to resolve some memory leaks.
Also remember that BG3 wasn't delayed because something like a memory leak. It was due to parity of multiplayer between the Series S and X, which is a bigger technical hurdle.

Handhelds are either a generation behind or are really expensive like the ROG Ally X. I think you are wrong, you are NOT going to get a next gen powerful handheld for the price of the current series S !!!! If it's true that the series S sells way more than the series X (we will see what happens when GTA 6 comes out) then the next xbox generation will have to have a cheap new version of the series S. The handheld is probably going to be a totally separate product line. It will probably be the same power as a current series S with more memory to reduce developer complaints. It will have it's own certification process. The handheld product line will not be linked to the TV console generations.

It is however SE fault for expecting it to exceed remake sales considering it a sequel and people will not play it till finish the first game. remake sold 7 mil copies on ps4/5 and only 1.5mil on pc so it being multiplate really didn't open floodgates on sales of the first game.
