I own this exact same model and the very first thing you need to do is put lock washers on all the fasteners for the sawblade. At its maximum length it indeed is very awkward to handle but with a little technique it can be done with just a stepping stool and not that big tall ladder. Cutting the highest branches close to 30 feet off the ground on a big ladder like that, is extremely dangerous as those branches are gonna fall they’re gonna hit your ladder they’re gonna knock you off and you’re gonna wreck your saw. I have successfully use this for two seasons now but it is definitely most effective at less than the 20 foot length leaving off the last two or three poles. But I have cut several branches that were at least 32 feet high off the ground once again with all sections attached using just a common household stepladder. But I would advise it’s definitely not for everyone you really do need to be disciplined to use it at its maximum length so if you buy this it is great like I said under 20 feet or so. And of course make sure to spray the saw blade with WD-40 every branch or so. Also nine times out of 10 your pole saw is gonna hit the ground so you wanna make sure you let go of it completely and that it won’t hit anything around you and the pole will not suffer excess stress that might lead to breakage mine is still going strong with no issues

GREAT advice - Thanks! You are certainly correct about anticipating the trajectory of the saw (and of course the LIMB!) when they fall. Awareness of surroundings and Patience are the keys to success, as well as keeping the pole and saw in good condition. Hey, I'll bet you have noticed the "silver lining" of that noodle-like flex in the pole: Over long distances from the side, it really helps the blade's teeth arc across the TOP of the cut if you lift just a bit, thus reducing getting pinched and stuck! NEVER bear down, right? AND, How to get unstuck from a high limb??? I would appreciate any tips, please! Thank you.
It’s not the fault of the saw that cutting high up branches is dangerous. This product is reasonable value and works to some extent. If it was made of thicker material you would say it is too heavy. Really cutting branches so high up, compromises have to be made. There are not many solutions really.
Tree trimmer service is very costly in the hundreds. The $90 is not bad. Handle item with care. It might be a slow job, but maybe a little at a time for a few weeks. Good exercise.
Advice/tip: to lever the full-length pole into vertical position just put a heavy breeze-block on the ground about a metre or two ahead of the 'target' high branches above - then like a pole-vaulter place the base of the long pole against the breeze block and you can then push the pole against the breeze-block to lever it up into the air to a vertical position and a little further to rest on the target branch. I use this trick with very tall heavy ladders too - but with not just one but 2-3 breeze-blocks placed in front of the ladder's base..

Glad you are ok. I would not like to have one of those because it would break soon after using and it looks too dangerous. Appreciate that you showed us how it is or supposed to work but it is not good or safe I think. Thank you and am glad you were not harmed wbile using it.

Yea I got the same one it's for actual professional use not sitting underneath a branch you are cutting on a ladder that's just common sense it's also not intended for the use of what you was using it for 😂 your trying to trim a whole tree that requires a chainsaw and complain it sucks
You get real nice extension telescopic poles, as well as telescopic pole chainsaws - just got the makita one that extends to 14ft - amazing piece of kit.

I bought this this pole saw just to cut one dangerous 50 feet 10 inches branch from a dead ash tree (they lose their branches first to become standing snag for years), this is obviously not a pro tool but it's very little money to make your backward safe.
OK...good enough Demo and helpful there. However, I am a bit bewildered as to why you felt the need to buy this saw to cut down that little branch that was in no way hurting anything and just hanging out over an open yard. It looks like the only LIVE Limb left on this poor tree and if you wanted the whole tree gone, there are many easier ways to take it down.
So what was it about this limb that made you want to cut it down?
Notice the pile of debris on the curb. This also his second pole saw. My guess is he has been working at it for a while and eventually will take the whole tree down.
Maybe he just doesn't want it there anymore? Maybe his other half keeps him in the dog house until he cuts it down? Maybe we should ask him if he owns the house or rents it. If he rents it, did he ask permission from the land lord and the city council? Maybe people should mind their own bloody business!
Not that dangerous though. It is just not easy to use.
Believe me it is dangerous because it is poorly made.

I find it very sad that you put your self at such a risk 😕 I'm glad your returning it .because you really shouldn't be using long arms 1st of all the ideas of a long arm is so you don't need a ladder
Also you should be placing a under cut first before your top cut .you had no helmet or decent p.p.e
The brush you dropped was so close to your lader. Ideally and I'm not trying g to be an ass you should rename it as how not to use a pole saw .I wish you no harm but please leave it to the professionals so you don't get hurt please take care .

A few minutes of researching even the “simplest” of jobs can ensure safe and satisfying desired results. Knowing how to prune large branches (undercuts on pressure side; taking out in sections) is important.

i think this is an excellent tool if used right. hiring a professional is not why people are watching this video, they are proably diy people who want to try at thier own risk. there is always a risk reward, heck hire a professional to tighten a screw, or try it your self at your own risk. i guess that is why they sell this tool probably.
You would have been better off with a rope saw and rope its easier safer and cheaper. I have cut many branches that are very high I have a huge tree on my front yard.
I did make a video how I tried to cut branches of the same tree with rope saw and it actually stuck multiple times. If the tree branch grows horizontally - you are right, the best way to use a rope saw. But if the tree branch grows vertically - it is almost impossible to do with a rope saw.

Just drop that ugly dead tree just saying ..however the threads on the poles seem be better idea wish they did that on my pro pole trimmers they make them clip in .not best design. Seems threads would be better ..get a 21 ft silky notch pole saw. Or just cutt tree down and save 500.00

Thats a pruning tool not ment for that get a climbing gear and top saw and trim the trees or hire tree company lol amazon tools and tree work and ladder 🪜 x 🎉😂❤
