I purchased this one from Costco a few years ago, I just opened it today. Thank you for your clear to the point instructions and explanations. If everyone who has a page did this, it would be great! Good job and thank you! A+
You can use the handle any where on the rope you want to. Pull the rope through the handle till it's where you want to use it. Wrap it a couple of times into the "groove" of the handle. Of course you will have a bundle of "excess rope" bunched up, but, that's how you use the handle at shorter distances.
I own and have been using exactly the same pole pruner for the last two years. My assessment is very similar to yours. I love its powerful pruning blade and mechanism, but like others, when reaching into the tree top, the blade often get caught caught, and sometimes the rope got tangled. With the wobbling tip and the weight of the pole, it is not easy to do a well controlled pruning at certain height. A few times the pole nearly fell over me because my arms got quite sore. Not the best design but quite affordable.
I love the KOBALT - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Kobalt Pole Saw.? - No cable. - I’m using an Oregon Bar and Chain on it . I have been using it for more than 3 years now and love it. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I also have (2) 80-volt 5-ah batteries 18" chain saws they are awesome and an 80 volt leaf blower.
@@LucidProductReviews - No. I never heard of FISKARS until I saw this on youtube. You want to do a comparison video? I don't see the KOBALT 80 Volt 10" Poles saw or 18" Chansaw in a head to head comparison anywhere. Sure would like to hear Pros and Cons comparisons. I just know they work great for me.
Thanks for the recommendation! Also love Kobalt battery-powered tools. Sorry to hear about the hurricane damage to your property! Best wishes with clearing it up and recovering.
Thank you! I had a bear of a time opening this exact pole saw. Next I have to extract anything in plastic as if breaking into Fort Knox, I'll use tin-snips!
According to another video I saw, the pole is "flimsy" on purpose. It's supposed to flex, so (if you do it right) it can use that flex to help the cut of the saw - makes it a lot less of a pain!
Thanks for sharing. We think that the pole is well constructed, just at full length can be a little difficult to handle. The blade flexes and we believe that helps with the cutting.
To cut those plastic packages, use a 12-volt multicutter (not multitool) by Makita or Skil. If you already own a 12V or 18V multitool, try using it with a carpet-cutting blade.
What I had trouble with is when I'm into the tree and I push up into the tree the small leaves get caught in the mechanisms and I can't tell if the blade is opened or closed
Try a hand held can opener (TH-cam it). It works fairly well with most packaging like that. Thanks for the review. I was going to buy an electric saw until I saw this review. Thanks! 🤗
My pruner, the “ spring “ as your video, was broken. Please tell me , in Vancouver , where I can buy a “ new SPRING “ to repair ? Please reply ! Yours truly, Peter .
@@LucidProductReviews It was the top end of pole , the lock button, does not hold, and when it separated, the top of pole was stuck in tree while I held the handel,, needed an extention ladder to retrieve the saw
It's handy to quickly cut a few branches. If you have a lot, you might want to check out an electric pole saw, like the San Joe electric pole saw we reviewed. th-cam.com/video/XcTH_zOF59A/w-d-xo.html Thank you!!
I would not buy this again. The saw is very difficult to get any results with. The limb slicer will cut very small limbs and that's about it. I f you are older like me, using this is tiring . These demos make it look a lot easier than it actually is.
I've had this tool for many years I still don't use it because I don't have large trees in my yard I bought it to service other yards when I was doing handyman work I just recently used it to on a neighbor's yard and I never attached the saw before today and I understand what you mean about the saw what I learned is you need to just use the weight of the saw it will do the work it's a really good song I mean it cuts it just let the weight of the pool and I do the work instead of trying to press down hard and do easy backward back and forth motions using the whole length of the saw and yes trying to wheel the pole that long and try to slice it is quite cumbersome what I did is I took a lesson from the fishermen where they tie themselves to the rod and reel so I essentially clipped with carabiners on my waist I was just using my belt loops because it's not that much and supported on the ground drop the sign and then Easy Motion up and down
An absolute piece of crap.... I literally got one last night... its ideal for a barbie doll... nothing more.... the saw is poorly engineered as well as the attachment bracket... the wing nut constantly come loose, even after tightening it with pliers.. it constantly pops off the tab that holds it in place... because the blade is so weak and bends easily... the rope is sub par... my rope broke 30 min into using it... the pole is thin and bends too easily.. I literally struggled to cut a 1 inch diameter branch with the saw... when my rusted and 10 year old corona pole saw was still cutting 5 inch diameter branches with little to no resistance... DONT waste YOUR MONEY!
We haven't had any issues so far. We mostly use the pruning functionality and only cut very small branches. For anything bigger, we use the electric pole saw.
Bought similar today and enjoyed it, it made quick work of my apple tree. Didn't totally understand the pulley pruner, now I do thanks

I really like my pole saw to trim . Works for me . I didn’t need to put the saw on.
Thanks for your feedback!

I use tin-snips on plastic packaging, amazingly easier and less clunky than a can opener
That could be a good one. Thanks for sharing!

I was able to cut down some thick branches. If I called someone it was have cost a bit. I saved myself some money by getting this.
Awesome! Tree service is not the cheapest and will definitely save money.

Costco isn’t the only retail outlet that has it. Amazon has it too
So does Lowe’s

I'm having difficulty extending the pole. It takes an aggressive degree of force to pull it out. Any ideas?
We didn't have such issues. You might want to get it exchanged.

We have no affiliation with the manufacturer. We purchased this with our own money for our personal use.
was the price american? and was it on sale or regular price ... in canada , it is about 139.99 plus taxes
At the time we purchased (back in 2023), it was USD54.99 ($69.99 with $15 OFF)
We don't have to put the saw on it?
You can detach the saw if you don't want it.
can got this how is order anybady have link
The link is in the description. Thanks
Try a can opener on the packaging
We will give that a try.
where to buy
We purchased ours from Costco.
They sell these at Lowe’s
Thanks for sharing this info.
DON'T FORCE THE SAW. LET THE SAW DO THE WORK. NICE ANS SLOW AND EASY, NO RUSH.
Thanks for the tip! It's tricky when the pole is extended.
I had to use chicken shears to cut open the plastic.
Good one! Thanks for sharing!!
They don't want you sticking the 16 ft pole in your pocket and sneaking out the door with it
...
My pole saw separated leaving the upper blade stock in the tree, the locking devise doesn't seem to work
Thanks for sharing your experience.
We are curious on where exactly it separated from. Did the blade come off by itself or was it the top half of the pole?
@@LucidProductReviews It was the top end of pole , the lock button, does not hold, and when it separated, the top of pole was stuck in tree while I held the handel,, needed an extention ladder to retrieve the saw

I bought mine at Ace Hardware, but it was $70.

I need 1pcs. how doler. u can give me?

to open it I just used my hands and ripped it open
Thanks for sharing! Be careful not to cut yourself!!
I cut them with a scissor. Easy and simple.
This is for the jobs that pruner can't reach.
How much
If you are asking how much $ it was, it was $54.99 ($69.99 with $15 OFF) at Costco.
You're better off just using the saw blade! When using the pruner, the string gets caught on everything!
Thanks for sharing! Have to keep the string taut in your hand or it would get caught on things.
Use a can opener on the plastic packaging
Thanks for the tip!
it looks awkward... i could use the saw though
