The goal is always to sell the small company with the technology to the big company. Big company’s would much rather buy a brand rather than invest the money to research something themselves because they get an external( now internal )client base as well
Many big companies such as smartphones companies like Apple, Samsung, etc. They all sell their own charger for their devices. But, still many people across the world buy another charge outside from those companies. So, it doesn't necessarily means they will go out of business right?
Just checked them their networth is 30mils now and after shark tank they rised like 50 mil of investments and they became global plus partners with some major car brands
I think creating a portable battery bank that you can put either in the front trunk or in the back trunk of the vehicle would be great. this way no one will be without juice for their vehicle. I'm just surprised that no one has developed a foldable solar panel that you can put on the roof of your vehicle so you're vehicle can charge wirelessly while you're working or at home. Then whenever you're ready to go somewhere you can just fold it and put it in your trunk and go.
And they couod have licenced the design to car manufacturers so that every EV made can have the option of a battery charger which may be branded Tesla but they get a share of the ales. A backup for any of them.
I think it’s a great idea with the lease model. They make the money back in a year. They just need more money to scale out bigger. But it also depends on how often cars really run out of battery on the road. Depends how much triple aaa and other towing companies are willing to pay vs just towing the car themselves to an electric charging station. The consumer product is what can bring this company to the moon.
Imagine them leasing it to one company for $150/month, then the company turns around and lease it to another company/consumer for $250/month. Unless there’s some kind of software lock, nothing prevents this from happening.
The best advice ever is in the last 5 seconds of this video. When you raise money you raise an obligation but our media celebrates it as profitability. That is the lesson for all entrepreneurs out there.
This is actually a smart idea. Maybe. Not for the us market but internationally. Tesla and other electric vehicles are being imported as of this moment to various countries and so far there is only a limited amount of charging areas outside of houses. This could play a major role for those areas/countries.
What people dont see is that batteries require lithium. Lithium mines are just as bad if not worse then fossil fuels. Look up lithium mines and youd be shocked.
I drive a petrol car so no petrol anxiety and it takes 3 minutes to refuel and no, electric vehicles are NOT more environmentally friendly, this is just the illusion they sell you in order to make you buy an expensive and limited electric vehicle.
This is a genius idea. My father wanted an electric car but since we live in south Florida, there aren’t many recharge stations especially on the way to Orlando. This is a very reasonable idea and I actually like the leasing aspect to it. Consumers, like my father, will only need this contraption on very long trips making it a very impractical purchase on its own. Very good job guys, the sky is the limit
@@marker7443 its a good idea but the product its self is crap you would have to fill up your back seat to get 60 miles if there were charging stations every where like gas station and just using it to get you couple of miles to the next station like a gas it would be another thing
"Raising money is an obligation not an accomplishment and our media celebrate it like profitability". This is deep and amazing take away for budding entrepreneurs.
The longevity in a portable charger is uncertain if wireless charging is proven to be safe and commercially scalable. But, that will probably take several years or even decades.
I like this show, and most of all this episode. Here Mark shared a lot of insight and knowledge from experience. They should cast this show in school, it is easy to follow and not a burden as studying on books is. I also really appreciated Lori here:" i know little to nothing of the topic, i see potential for customers (that is my core strenght), let's see if someone with more experience, knowledge and money can help me (Mark)". Here Mark alone would have called himself out i think. Damn, it is so interesting to understand the mindset of sussessfull entrepeneurs. Thank you for sharing!
The one thing I see as a problem is the user's stuck on the side of the road in a rainstorm or blizzard. What about making it so it doesn't have to hook directly into the charger port on the outside and have it connect up inside somewhere? That would be a great patent
They will face stiff competition with Tesla. There may be a lithium shortage-- there are conflicting reports. I think hybrids are a better option than fully electric vehicles.
They found the biggest lithium deposit of around 244 million tons in Mexico last year and they are developing a mine right now. I’m not sure if that’s a lot when added to the rest of the worlds in Bolivia and Chile and the US. China and Russia are very interested in it so I’m guessing it’s a lot.
There isn't a lithium shortage. Their is a lithium mining shortage. Earth has tons of Lithium. Its just that the mining companies aren't growing as fast as the battery industry needs them to grow. This is why Tesla signed a huge deal with a Lithium mine in NC to majorly expand their operation and Tesla is starting their own mine in Utah. If the mining industry isn't doing it, Tesla will just do it themselves.
@@jpriley100 I mean I’m not very informed on the subject. I know China makes Tesla batteries and China is helping Mexico with the mine development. I know the US has the second biggest deposit in Nevada. I also know mining lithium is very bad for the environment.
I have to think the industry, which has had a decade to observe with the Prius, etc., has had something to do this same task. One software solution is to change the range of the EV. Instead of stating the remaining range, state say 90% with a 10% residual only to be used to get home. The early VW Beetles had this, a secondary fuel tank.

@@60hertzproductions64 thanks for the explanation, I never thought about that
I mean they could sell to the big companies like Tesla or even apple/Android if they ever go into that.
@@CoolBroNDude Nope.
Daymond going out asap then trying to weasel in on the convo lol
Mad respect for Daymond for begin the V8 guy.
Just checked them their networth is 30mils now and after shark tank they rised like 50 mil of investments and they became global plus partners with some major car brands
I love Lori she is such a trooper giving everyone a chance yet without being a greedy
yes she quickly became my favorite shark
When Mark speaks, you can feel the intelligence and power behind his words.
You bs
THIS WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST DEALS I VE SEEN ! 😎
I bought a watehouse in Rochester, NY, that use to distribute electric cars in 1911.
A portable solar panel would charge really slow
You need to go on shark tank
And they couod have licenced the design to car manufacturers so that every EV made can have the option of a battery charger which may be branded Tesla but they get a share of the ales. A backup for any of them.
Or just integrate the panel into the roof
I think it’s a great idea with the lease model. They make the money back in a year. They just need more money to scale out bigger. But it also depends on how often cars really run out of battery on the road. Depends how much triple aaa and other towing companies are willing to pay vs just towing the car themselves to an electric charging station.
The consumer product is what can bring this company to the moon.
he also said they can repurpose the batteries, which means there is some real value for them there, which i know nothing about.
I like how mark spins "two percent" to "two percent each?" Lmao
Imagine them leasing it to one company for $150/month, then the company turns around and lease it to another company/consumer for $250/month. Unless there’s some kind of software lock, nothing prevents this from happening.
Range anxiety is the only reason people don't buy electric cars, not the fact that a lot of people only make 7.45 an hour.
Barbara: I didn't turn up today, my electric bike ran out of charge, And for that reason, Im out!
They needed Chris Sacca today.. He would have taken it in a blink of an eye.
They can all blink I don’t think that’s the issue here
As long as its based in Palo Alto and he gets to tell everyone he invested in Twitter & Uber.
1:14 that million dollar smile
Barbara: I'm still using BOOMER technology for my cars. For that reason I'M OUT!
The best advice ever is in the last 5 seconds of this video. When you raise money you raise an obligation but our media celebrates it as profitability. That is the lesson for all entrepreneurs out there.
Amazing concept! Can't wait to see it in our local markets
I loved what Mark said at the end of the clip. It is an obligation, not an accomplishment. Bars.
Update: As of Jan 2023, the current worth of this company is at 186 million
2:52 Daymond, you said you were out at the beginning. Let someone else ask the questions.
LOL I love Daymond's tone of voice. Lori got a free ride. lol
Current valuation of Spark charge : $110 Mn
Barbara: You weren't hood enough for Damion, and for that reason I am out.
Who’s Damion?
@@otpyg13 your right it's Daymond
I drive a petrol car so no petrol anxiety and it takes 3 minutes to refuel and no, electric vehicles are NOT more environmentally friendly, this is just the illusion they sell you in order to make you buy an expensive and limited electric vehicle.
True
What a salesman and quick on his feet
This is a genius idea. My father wanted an electric car but since we live in south Florida, there aren’t many recharge stations especially on the way to Orlando. This is a very reasonable idea and I actually like the leasing aspect to it. Consumers, like my father, will only need this contraption on very long trips making it a very impractical purchase on its own. Very good job guys, the sky is the limit
so your father is going to just sit there and wait 5 hours while it charges on his trips?
@@joejacko1587 better than waiting 5 hours for a tow truck. Plus you don’t need to fully charge up
@@marker7443 its a good idea but the product its self is crap
you would have to fill up your back seat to get 60 miles
if there were charging stations every where like gas station and just using it to get you couple of miles to the next station like a gas it would be another thing
better to have a gas generator charging it so it charges faster and doesn't take up as much room
@@joejacko1587 you are right. 1 mile per sixty seconds is terrible. Hopefully the tech evolves in the right direction, everything starts somewhere
"Raising money is an obligation not an accomplishment and our media celebrate it like profitability". This is deep and amazing take away for budding entrepreneurs.
The best emergency charging system is a gasoline powered generator in the trunk of the car.
The longevity in a portable charger is uncertain if wireless charging is proven to be safe and commercially scalable. But, that will probably take several years or even decades.
Even wireless charging this will still be in need if the internet goes out.
What do we do with the old batteries? How much more rare earth material do we have to mine for battery operated cars? How do we charge the chargers?
They said they like to own it and lease it so they can take them back and repurpose them.
I wish they kept going with their conversation at the end. Dropping truth bombs 💣. Their product is amazing definitely a need in the market
ultra fast 1 mile per second so like 5 hours don't the normal ones give a full charge in about an hour
@@joejacko1587 you aren't using this to get a full charge you're using it because you ran out or are about to and need it to get to a charging station
That Dudes Crooked Tie was stressing me tf out 😂
The one thing I see as a problem is the user's stuck on the side of the road in a rainstorm or blizzard. What about making it so it doesn't have to hook directly into the charger port on the outside and have it connect up inside somewhere? That would be a great patent
I agree, but you run into a patent/warranty problem with the car manufacturer. Unless the manufacturer starts making an inside port.
Barbara: It's portable and it charges vehicles so for those reasons I'm out.
@Uncle Nik noted
Josh was excellent on his pitch and answering questions !!
Barbara - I like my muscle cars, for that reason “I’m out!!!!”
This is gonna be really big one day
They will face stiff competition with Tesla.
Lithium was vital in Z Nation.
New battery tech is using graphene now.

people clowning Barbara but watch the last 5 seasons of the show, Daymon is actually the one always out or making RIDICULOUS offers just to have a no.
