- I got this plane last minute so instead of a full review, I decided to do some initial impressions on a real maiden. This plane flew great! And I am excited to put the BRAND NEW FMS Cessna 182 1500mm RC Airplane to work and see how it does with some FPV modifications!

As much as I like this C-182, I would REALLY love it if FMS came out with a C-177 Cardinal or even the RG version. FMS has outstanding models. Nice demo of this magnificent model!
Don't forget to mention the 5 dollar plastic gear servos on a 300 dollar plane!
those 5 dolar servos should be fine if you check them before each flight to make sure they spin smoothly
@@eminstinct4114 They usually get stuck AFTER you've been flying for a while. Then you learn about it after you're done crashing. Been there, done that.
That’s a beautiful scale airplane with pretty decent performance. It looks like it will do plenty of aerobatics if you manage your power and fly it on the wing. All in all, a pretty solid offering at $300.00. I would consider this to be a direct competitor to the E-Flite Cherokee.
ive got this model. have had it for 5 years. it does everything a scale and an aerobatic plane can. i installed a stabilisation system and it flies like a dream- rock solid. scale planes with a stab system are a must IMO. pop it into high rates and give it some throttle and itll do inverted snap rolls, tight inverted loops, knife edges- you name it. and thats on 3S. i havent even tried it on 4s. im surprised he said it wont go vert here, mine goes hard vertical on 3S...
you can fly it for 15 minutes if you fly it scale like and barely past half throttle- even less. the flaps are really just a gimmick. you dont need them for takeoff or landing.
You are so right, that is a BEAUTIFUL scale plane and you fly it just as beautiful.
Still rocking the vintage flyzone select scale cessna, and i haven't seen any model as scale as it but this looks like a very nice future upgrade.. i must have a cessna in my hangar!!!

Im loving how it looks and how it flys. Please when you make it FPV put rubber wheels on it, that would be a major change. It's going to be really cool when you have it FPV and you'll be able to see the guys arm moving. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family ✌️ 😊👍🙏🏼
FMS flap servos usually need to be over driven to about 125 in spektrum servo setup, to bring them up level.
Those rock hard tires are always loud.
The 3 blade prop is going to give you that low and slow flight performance most folks are going to want to do with this plane.
It's definitely on my short list. 👍

This new 182 looks great. I have the older Sky Trainer from FMS and I love it. My plane is getting a little worn out. This will make a great replacement.

4 yrs ago I put a FPV Camera on the Pro Boat Tug from Horizon Hobby
when over 400m Distance it helps to line up the Tug to Boat.
That thing is a beauty even better in Red
Yup, those wheels/tires. They might be square. Then the other thing is the engine sound. Not quite a good match to the real thing. But otherwise, really nice.

I bought the 1300mm Dynam C182 and out of the box I noted the nose gear was a failure. It collapsed in the 3rd landing, and it was a smooth one.
I re-built it as a reinforced version and so far so good.
I can attest to that fact. Front gear is crap. I changed mine with a 3D printed, spring loaded shock nose gear. So much better than OEM. The Dynam Skytrainer 182 used the exact same gear. FMS purchased the materials from Dynam. Also, performance greatly increased with 4S packs. Just be careful not to overheat the motor and use a 40 amp sc, which I think came stock with the FMS. Dynam used a 30 amp, which the 4S was overheating. Great flier!
Had this exact plane under the "dynam" label. It was fairly durable, however, the front gear is weak and the metal is quite plyable. Bent the first flight landing on some rough grass. Ended up replacing with a different nose gear.

The wheels are definitely "nails on the chalkboard"...screaming for a small dab of axle grease. Had several of these 'screech-wheeled' planes, so far all quieted down after lubing.

That is a beautiful model. But, man, FMS has gotten a lot of mileage out of that pilot. I think he may be in every FMS plane that I've owned.

Hey jay awesome plane, I’ve barely gotten into Rc planes. First one I got was the Fs sensei trainer but came in for a nose dive landing on some pretty high grass. Since then haven’t gotten another because they’re a little pricey. But I’ve been messing with the 3 channel airbuses and made some pretty cool configurations. Please like if interested and I will release detailed videos on what I did with them for you to show all the fans/aviation freaks.
Everyone wants one but it's a hanger queen I feel like ide want to fly a more fun plane but if it had floats than that adds to the fun

Do spektrum remotes work with FMS RTF planes? Or do you have to switch out receiver?
Im not sure if I want the blue or red? I have the HH Cirrus red and and its a great flyer but id dont know red or blue and I also have the HH rv7 blue..idk??? red looks better in the sky but blue is my fave color???

You can change the wheels out for rubber ones.. Or you can spray Silicone lube on the wheels.. Works for a short time..
No kidding soft tyres. Most people would rather pay a couple of dollars up front if they don't have a kit of spares on hand.
Or you can do what I do as do many others, fly off grass.
Hi Jay, compare to timber and ranger, which one has the most aerobatic capable ?
NEED to Square the FLIGHT Pattern into the final landing Config RIGHT or Left Down wind leg then reduce speed to come into final set flaps IF needed Never on Strong winds !! FLOATS TOO MUCH when applying flaps ALL Cessna scale or Real need some Down elevetator trim to keep app speed tends to NOSE UP !! You're increasing the ROOT of the wing Airfoil curvature .
I love the scale detail, but I’m also a big touch-and-go person, so those wheels make it a no-go for me 😢

You would need a Spektrum receiver. AR620 for basic. Or if you want safe and as3X you need a AR630

FMS has some great beginner planes. The ranger 1220mm and Piper PA-18 RTF both come with everything you need and have gyros for beginners. I recommend both of them. The Ranger in my opinion is a little more beginner friendly!

Yes, I passsd ground school during covid. Don’t want to take flight lessons until I buy a plane and can take them in my own aircraft. Probably do it sooner than later.

Then came the KRAFT Systems radios GOLD Series and expensive ones the Signature series TWO Sticks versions and Single stick versions My DAD was a Dealer of them as was for OS Engines at World Engines Dist in OHIO

I just crashed mine 11 year old cesna 182 1400mm here for like an hour ago, first fligth ever 🤣 broke one of the wingligth and one of the blades for the propel 🥲
