    Thanks for the first look at this (roughly) sub-250gm EPP warbird, Steve. Barring any subsequent discovery of major deficiencies it would seem to be (hopefully) the start of a series that we Beginners and Old Farts have been crying out for! That is - sub-250gms, brushless, multi-cell battery capable, non-proprietary props/motors, fully switchable 6G/3D/Manual stability, servos OFF the flight board AND (though I believe that your assessment of its use was in error) a satellite receiver socket for S-bus receivers so you can use your own hobby-grade transmitter!
    This should be much better (stock) than the XK A280 P-51 since it has a better motor/prop combo and (with a 690mm wingspan compared to 550mm at the same weight) a far better wing loading.
    The references to possible future GPS capability probably should be taken with a grain of salt since the schematic picture of flight board you showed (from the destruction manual?) does not show any reference to a UART connection port for a GPS unit to plug into.
    It would also have been helpful if you had tried to use the "trick button" auto roll/loop functions in ALL the 3 Stabilization Modes. Just to confirm/deny their operation in comparison to the Volantex V761 Mini Warbirds where the "tricks" function in BOTH their Stabilized Modes.
    For most Beginners/Old Farts the landing gear and drop tanks should be reserved for display duties and some springy zip-tie or line trimmer skids added to act as shockies for the usual Kamikaze landings. BUT (as shown here) those flexible drone-style props are a HUGE improvement on the brittle easily deformed/broken proprietary stock crap on the XK opposition.

    For a small cheaper RTF this thing seems like a banger. Not only does the radio have good coverage, it doesn't look overly cheap. It's like they carved up some fpv's that they couldn't sell so they made a bunch of planes. Looks like tons of power too. I might get it.

    Is this a Sub 250gram model? It looks a bit larger than the UMX offerings from another company. That is a good thing though. I have UMX models that could have been made larger if that company tried to get a little closer to 250 grams. I doubt the 250 gram weight was even on their mind. Also do you know if this can be bound to Radiomaster 16s 4 in 1 module and what protocol would I use? It seems big enough that it should be no problem installing my own RX if I desired to do so. Thanks for reviewing something I had no idea existed. Now I am interested. The KI 84 Frank is not modeled very often compared to the Zero and other war birds. To me it seems Japanese war birds in general are not modeled as often as other countries.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      Weight is 256 grams with battery and landing gear. This means it is simple to get it under 250 grams by using a smaller size battery or removing the gear.

    Can one do a full loop with some sort off stabilising? This has not been possible on similar models. Since these foam planes fly like a sheet of paper in the wind they often are extremely unstable without help of a gyro, and the gyro function doesnt let you do rolls or loops. After some flights this becomes very annoying and you realize you need another plane to keep advancing.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      It is possible to use the SBUS function. First you need to have an SBUS receiver, and then plug it into the SBUS expansion port of the aircraft. Then use your futaba remote control to complete the corresponding channel settings and you are ready to fly! It should be noted that using the futaba remote control, there is no way to perform one-click stunts. For example, automatic rolling, you can only perform these actions manually. Thanks!

    • @theoztreecrasher2647
      @theoztreecrasher2647 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@moflyairThe poster was asking about the "S-bus GPS unit" mentioned in the video. This is a furphy! They are 2 completely separate output points on the board. A good photo of the board is now available on the RCGroups thread on this plane - check it out. The GPS outlet has no socket added yet.
      Also the S-bus socket does not need to be fed specifically with a Futaba S-FHSS receiver - any protocol with an S-bus output will do. I prefer Flysky, Radiomaster or FRSky since Futaba S-FHSS is an odd one that uses a REVERSED throttle output! Can catch you out!
      As to "no one-click stunts" did you check out how the channels above the first 4 might be set to activate them (and gyro mode switching) as shown in the information under the various protocols listed in Pascal's Multi Protocol Module firmware lists?
      I'm presuming that you have this plane already. How are you finding it to perform? 😉😊

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, in Canada, and in most countries, the governments set a weight limit for unmanned remotely controlled vehicles. So this means in Canada the rules for RC Planes, RC Helicopters, FPV Drones, GPS Drones are all the same. This plane weighs 256 grams due to the battery, so this means if you want to place it under 250 grams, you simply use a slightly smaller battery.

    information nice model, except where it's not.
    3:44 it is the opposite of smart to fly a model with pretend stuff hanging under the wing.! the manufacturer has (stoopidly) failed to correctly locate the mass of wing-located servos; that mass should be located just forward-of the thirty percent of chord line. [ there's ALWAYS something not done correctly. ] because a too-flexible prop has been used, the power to thrust curve is not linear. this is so because a flexible prop has a tendency to partially un-load at higher rpms; and during times of acceleration.!!! d

      Yikes… that was a very strange post for a plane that flies so very well.
