You could just put that fuselage back together. But just have them send you another fuselage. It would be easier, but you could fix that 1 in an hour with BSI foam cure, not the CA.
doing an inverte that far and in a turn is the worst idea someone can have, acro should be always performed in front of the pilot. also seemed a little to slow, may some more throttle from the beginning could have save it. luckily seems to be an easy fix for a great flying airplane
Great presentation style Jay. Very entertaining video. Looks like this Alpha jet has very high wing loading with that big of a battery. Need to keep it going pretty fast to prevent stalling. That inverted turn was too slow to begin with and as soon as you pushed the elevator, the plane stalled.
I like it very much. It's a trainer mostly, but a real jet. Quite peaceful but agile. The current machine of La Patrouille de France. Such a graceful aircraft for this tricks. If you look for more agressive but with a similar geometry (and same gear principle) have a look at the Mirage F1, very nasty bird.. Thank you for the video, you have great skills, the model looks so realistic. Also you have access to a nice runway and awesome landscape.
Thank you Brother !!! My Wife's a little more forgiving of me learning to fly because of this video. I'm not going to fly any until I learn from RF on my computer. She was saying what a great pilot you were, and then tragic ending ! So she says "well I guess even the best pilots crash."
I've destroyed one as well... This little guy demands respect as stalls are a bit snappy. Just don't get slow (not all jets are meant for the "high-alpha" game). Recommendations/things to look for: 1) I'm not a fan of the WAAAY too long battery leads from the ESC, so I trimmed mine down by a good 6 inches. I use the EXACT same battery (charged to HV/4.35) as you used and when removing it (on the day the jet met its demise) I noticed the leads/connectors were HOT, as in uncomfortable to hold for more than a couple of seconds, and this was using EC5 to EC5 (I don't recommend the EC5 to XT90 as they are NOT an exact fit and can lead to disaster... there's threads on RCG that discuss this exact issue). The caps on the ESC were cooking (and I have slight burnt foam where they were in contact with the canopy to prove it). I have another Alpha NIB but am considering adding a beefier ESC and start with batts charged to 4.20 to check heat before going muy loco at 4.35 again, even though all my other EDFs seem content with 4.35 power... 2) Main landing gear, while great in function, seem to be a bit tight on their tolerances, so watch for binding that starts to keep the gear from smoothly rotating 90 degrees on retraction. I tried lube, but didn't make enough difference to fix, so I pulled them apart and sanded things and the gear was happy again. YMMV. 3) I heard you mention "I didn't cycle the gear" when you had the gear stay down after takeoff #2. I have the same PITA issue; i.e. the gear servos don't "wake up" on initial power up until you cycle the gear switch once. So I did mine on the ground so things worked properly in flight. Odd and a little annoying, just like the Nav lights strobing instead on the positions lights! 4) Recommend getting rid of DRAG BEFOR LIFT (raise gear THEN flaps, esp. on a high load wing like this guy). Great job on the video, BTW. Well done. Despite all these quirks, I like this little demon and look forward to #2 at some point. Just offering some experience to hopefully help you succeed on your next one!
Good job flying! Pilot error always happens sometimes. Getting ready to fly the new E-flite viper. Its going to be my first EDF. You should check it out!
You might want to get your caliper out and measure the diameter and spacing of the pins on an EC5 and an XT90. They're not the same diameter nor are they the same distance apart, so they don't make 360° contact. Yes, they plug together, but the pins only touch on one side.
Hey Jay, I think your being a little tough on yourself. Remember what I told ya about this bird it's just has some weird quirks'! What you filmed and took home was like an instant replay of mine. Like I said I never seen my bank account drain that fast since the last trip to the mall with my wonderful wife. :) Piece brother..
Hey man, all good Nice video, too bad the crash... respect✌️ On maiden flights I always use gyro... you never know 🤷♂️ In this case maybe you could save the plane if you had the time to reach safe button Thanks for the videos 🙂✌️
You are very good at flying. and know the airplane's limits If I fly just a little bit more The machine will lose control and think that it has fallen and will not be able to recover in time. This airplane is not suitable for beginners. Very dangerous if the turns are narrow curve . I think you tried several times before posting this clip. Aron was a little too fast. I've flown over 700 flights on this model and crashed 6 of them. I think it's just as fun to fly as the Curare 60. this plane is the best of 80 mm EDF
Oh noooooo! Such a beauty. I ended up with the T7a but the Alpha is a nice jet and fast as well. Get a new fuse and rebuild it and beat the snot out of it. Lol
@Jays_rcgarage it's such a nice flying jet that has the same port system but not as fast as the Alpha but Flys on rails. The details are very nice, Landing gear is solid as well.
Pilot error? Yup. However, that airframe is not stable while inverted. Anhedral wings are typically unstable in inverted flight. That jet did not like going inverted and even at the top of that loop with power off, it was not enjoying that part of the flught envelope. My suggestion is not to fly that thing upside down with lots of power on to get out of it. Even the full size one has to be flown with lots of power while inverted.
Ok, cloudy sky, dark grey top and bottom paint, first flight taking risks, hmmm. Hint to others if you did'nt know- different color top and bottom, or even some bold stripes/checkering on one side would have saved this plane.
lol only the small foamies. Never the big gas stuff or the turbines. I like the fly these things. If they crash they crash. Gives me room to try more !
@@Jays_rcgarage An occassional crash video keeps it interesting, real and can be more educational to viewers than a calm flight. No body bags or calls to the NTSB required.
Yep looked like how mine was. Unstable and rocking around like it had a wrecking ball hinging from its belly. Orientation is also bad for this plane colour and shape. Get the T7A. Its better.
sms battery is too light, i used HRB 5000mA 100c and slide battery to firewall and change esc to flyfun 120a , this plane want to be fly fastest , unstable in low speed
I'm really sorry Jay. I did not find it funny at all watching four hundred dollars plunge into the ground. I'm sorry bro. It wasn't clear what you said happened, did you get disoriented when you flipped it upside down? Do you think a different paint color skim may have helped? I don't know but this is why I still like to setup a safe and panic mode on my receiver and transmitter because you never know when you need it. Thanks for sharing. I feel your pain my men and at least your wife did not seem too upset, or she had no idea how much it cost.
You could just put that fuselage back together. But just have them send you another fuselage. It would be easier, but you could fix that 1 in an hour with BSI foam cure, not the CA.
Took that like a true champion. No screaming, no crying. I'm proud of you.😁
😂 RIP
Excellent control and flying skill of this impressive Alpha Jet model!! ❤❤❤❤
LMFAO!!! "Ummm, are you kidding?!?!" Best part of the video!!
Rarely happens these days. Was a rough reality lol
Great flying, love the sound! I keep telling myself I don't need this jet but then you guys keep drawing me back in LOL.
Nice flying!! I agree you lost orientation. Great sounding jet. I think you just got too comfortable too fast!
Love the headline. THIS JET WAS AMAZING. 😂😂😂😂
Los of orientation. Its a real thing. Gets me too sometimes. 😊

Excited to get it back in the air, new fuse shipped today.
Losing orientation sucks. That is why I set up a panic switch at least on my jets.

Ayyy Jeff! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

1 more thing... sorry to the "purists", but a gyro REALLY smooths this model out. "Must have" in my book.
Great flight demo sir, I'm sold on this plane.
Great job buddy, we all make mistakes, just another part of the hobby
I love the alpha jet E, actual plane of the Patrouille De France 🇨🇵✈️
It comes in the other Livery as well 🔥
@@Jays_rcgarage next objective of my life, buy this rcplane 🔥
Good job flying! Pilot error always happens sometimes. Getting ready to fly the new E-flite viper. Its going to be my first EDF. You should check it out!
Good luck! 70mm or 90mm ? I’ve owned 2 of the 70’s and flown the 90 a few times.. both are great planes !!
@@Jays_rcgarage its the new orange 70mm
Snap happy .. from inverted stall .. you nearly pulled it out, but it elevator snapped again.
You were flying it so well without the gyro. That plane just bit you. Not as predictable as, say, an F16 lol
oooo my gooood, amaziiiiing this plane👍👍👍
The sound of this thing is amazing
Very cool🤩🤟👍
Wish they’d double the size of these EDF’s
trhanks for showing the retracts.. lol
Cool ending. Nobody ever does that, tell the truth. I appreciate you. You got a fan.

Damn, heartbreaker. That airframe really doesn't like inverted flight as you saw. Sorry to see that bro
Is part 2 out already, I really like edf.
As always I definitely respect your honesty. Not many people can admit their faults right off the bat. Also.. Cheyenne "are you kidding"😂😂
Just ordered the new fuse. lol shell be back in the air. Thanks for petting my dogs 😂

Looks like a nice flying jet!
good luck rebuilding!
😮 Get the glue out, sounds really good I think most of that will buff out. 😅
This can happen, sometimes hard to work out which way is up or down.
Hey man, all good
Nice video, too bad the crash... respect✌️

Nice. However, at 0:44 you're fully clasping the port landing gear hatch!
This is an amazing and great video. I fell in love with this video.
Let’s fly inverted doh ❤️ you must be hobby kings number one customer

Been there done that recently with a spitfire...Esp in twilight it gets impossible to tell top from bottom
RIP to the spitfire, hope it’s fixable !

what I nice looking edf your flying was good and think we all been there hate to see it come down but good video 👍👍
in my opinion the plane looks like a little bit tail heavy......... it was a nice jet....... 👍👍😉😉

That looked like a tip stall waiting to happen from the moment it left the ground - but a nice looking jet
I have never seen someone crash as much as you do bro
lol only the small foamies. Never the big gas stuff or the turbines. I like the fly these things. If they crash they crash. Gives me room to try more !

3mins if your lucky
great bird to fly but very juicy on batteries

Day 2 of asking bro for a beginner friendly plane
Ouch. I feel you though man, I just destroyed my freewing f35 on only the third flight
Ahhhhh! Bummer 🥲
Owwww that crash
Could you fly some minimum rc planes?
I but 2 a while back. I am liking those new little EDF’s so I may try one
Oooh nice! 👍🏻 thanks!
Lousey ski for a grey plane
5900 mah😅 i mean..what wouldve been another measly 100?
If you use 5000mah or 4500mah, your CG will be better
you keep saying low wing... what low wing?
Where do u fly ?
Stanton Road
cool
sms battery is too light, i used HRB 5000mA 100c and slide battery to firewall and change esc to flyfun 120a , this plane want to be fly fastest , unstable in low speed
High wing
Probably nothing to do with the crash but was the recommended balance point on the LE dogteeth? Looked a bit forward to me.
NGL I think you had the plane a little nose heavy with that battery.. Lol
CG felt okay. I may try a 4000 when I get the new fuse
@@Jays_rcgarage That 4000 or even a 4500 would be alot better. only downside is the flight time will be shorter.
You mean tail heavy. The battery was jammed as far back as possible!
You zigged when you should have zagged :)
I like that 🤣
Umm are you kidding me. 😮😮😮
You mean high wing
UM, is right 😂
reducing the power just after take off nearly cost you a model

If you wanna sell me the parts 😍
Looks very unstable. I dont like it.
Looks like it was pretty windy, but either way, not really a good lookin jet.
I think the cg is to black...
3 or 5 cm forward and it will be perfect and more stable
