TO ANYONE who is considering DIY wiring the brake-light for the sportbar: This is a good video BUT - YOU DO NOT just pull/tug on the wire for the brake-light from the fuse panel (I said that in a previous comment); there is a tool set for disconnecting these type of wires... I did not know the official name of the tool set when I made my previous comment... I found the name of the tool randomly - I was force-fed an ad while watching another unrelated electrical video on youtube... finally a useful youtube ad... the ad was for "terminal ejector kits"... The tool set you need to correctly disengage the factory 3rd brake-light wire from the fuse panel IS: "Terminal Ejector Kit"

The oem part is a new switch on the dash that need programming. If your using aftermarket switch look for a ignition. Wire at the box or under the dash-- you must use a relay.

I have a 2018 ZR2 in the the Graphite Metallic (Granite Blue). I went to the dealer to get a Z71 and saw the ZR2 on the showroom floor and bought it. Best decision I made . All I have done is tint the windows, added a 20" Black Oak light bar in the lower bumper and added Baja S-2 Pro LED's into the grill. When I turn on the light bar, grill lights and sports bar LED's, it's like Yankee Stadium. I like that I can turn on any combination of the 3 lights as needed. I put the LED switches into the small pocket in front of the shifter. I will probably get the Bison grill and put some LED strip lights (low voltage type) just to illuminate the CHEVROLET logo. I did have an issue when the truck was brand new, that my sports bar lights looked like they were good, but when parked next to friends Z71 with his lights on, mine were half as bright. The dealer discovered that the harness wasn't grounded properly. I call my truck the "Pavement Princess" because I'll probably never take it in mud or sand, snow only. Love this truck......until I get my 2021 Z71 Tahoe later on .

@@Donnythelatemodeltech I ended up wiring it myself, successfully... But I must say, YOU DO NOT JUST PULL the wire for the brake light from the fuse panel... there is a tool... the wire has a safety catch/ prongs that hold the wire intact, I don't have the tool but I sharpened some tweezers to get in there and release the prongs... If you examine the wire after removal ( or if you examine the wire on the sportbar harness ) you will see the prongs soldered to the wire for the brake light ...and the fuse panel cover has 6 tabs that must be released simultaneously.. I used screws (jammed into tabs 1 at a time) to make sure all tabs were released... then pulled up to remove fuse panel cover... other than those 2 issues this video is dead on.
