This is so neat to see, Chris. I haven't looked at my Canadian stamps in ages. I guess we take them for granted here. But there are so many stories behind each stamp. It's nice to see them with fresh eyes. PS - Saanichton, BC is a few km north of me here - it's a small municipality on Vancouver Island. :)

Hi Mark. I can understand taking it for granted. I had that with my Netherlands stamps. Felt 'too obvious' to collect them, but then not appreciating what they tell and that there were beautiful ones amongst them. Small world, that Saanichton is so close to you. It was a beautiful cancellation!

    Happy new year.
Some nice stamps there Chris, reminds me to sort out my Canadian stamps.

Hey Jerry! Yep, I have still a lot of them to do. After recording the video I thought I should pre-sort them. Because there is a big chance of more duplicates and a big chance of showing those in the follow-up(s). Decided to sort them first by denomination, that helps. But 1500 is a lot, but a lot of fun also!

Nice mix of years for you. Do check the phosphor prints of the late 50' and the 60's since there are several varieties.

Hi John, I will check them at some point. I really need to continue 'work' on my Canada collection.

Nice lot of stamps you bought, Chris. Most of the stamps are in very good condition, and most are attractive. I have seen a little bit of Canadian stamps before, but these were mostly new for me. I know it takes a lot of editing time, but I personally like it that you show close up photos of the stamps and their info. Thanks for your time and trouble and the video! Kind regards!

Hi Charnie. Yep, beautiful stamps are in that lot. I kinda like the varities too, with the partly perforated stamps. Makes it harder to plan ahead a full album (stockbook though). It takes a lot of time indeed. I have grown very good at it, but editing one minute takes one hour. I cannot really rely on my cameras that much, if they focus enough when I want, so closeups of stamps are a necessity I think.

I have many of the same problems, Chris. I also like the close up detail of stamps and want to show it to viewers, and I am also not always sure where to hold a stamp for best focus. Some of my videos takes a horrible amount of time to edit. I am not sure how much, but I can work two weeks or even more on one video. But it is also fun, because I am still learning many new things along the way - also about editing. 🙂@@chrislovesstamps

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar Chris!

Interesting stamps. I'm not an expert on stamps at all and inherited a collection I'm still going thru and looking at.

You don't have to be an expert. Maybe if you sell, it would be nice if you know someone who can give you an estimate for the collection. But if you plan to keep it, and add to it, then not being an expert is nice in a way also. With time, you learn. And thankfully there is TH-cam with a lot of channels with information. What kind of collection is it?
