    Wow, thank you for the shout out. I’m thrilled that you watch. I’m also so glad to see you supporting new channels like Stamp Collecting Mom. I’ve enjoyed watching her enthusiasm. Keep posting, but don’t let the channel drive you. Good luck with your new goals!

      Hi Ken. I always look forward to an episode of you. You are genuine and share a lot of knowledge. Your episodes about the DDR stamps, Germania stamps and The History of Early French Postage Stamps are really high standard videos which I use (and I am sure more people do) as a reference. But I also like your other videos. And thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

    Hi Chris.
    I agree with what your saying, I to have been taking stock of what to collect, narrowing down my collection so it becomes more achievable, you will see in my next video I talk about this and what I'm going to focus on, what I hope to achieve.
    Also time is precious, don't be anxious about putting content out or be hard on yourself. Your doing great.
    Good luck with your collections, I will help you where I can, take care

      Hi Jerry. I think it is good to review, or evaluate what you're doing. Doubting yourself is not. I cannot keep track of 10 areas to collect. So I made choices and it feels better. I move from accumulating to collecting. No offense to other collectors, this is just what feels better to me. The other thing is that I would like to show all these areas of interest through my channel. That is impossible, but with narrowing down what I want to collect, that might be doable. Thank you for the kind words!

    Excellent video Chris, thanks for sharing and including all the links to the other channels content. Looking forward to viewing your videos this year as you decide to with no pressure. Serenity now 😊

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. Yeah, pressure. I am my own worst enemy at times. But only I can change it and I will. I have. Nice to have you on board for the new year. I will include more links to other stamp channels soon.

    Hey Chris, Yeah it's pretty crazy out there with this hobby. I have been collecting for quite awhile now but for me I have only collected 3 countries. That has worked good for me. You can get pretty creative in each country as well. Overprints, occupation, block of 4 collection all kinds of variants. Keep it up and thanks for your videos. Also I collect topical birds and that has been a fun one to get into.

      @chrislovesstamps  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Lee. Agreed, you can go pretty crazy with some or most countries. I collect in a very standard way, not a lot of varieties. I hold that option open for later, I think it will overwhelm you when you are relatively new to the hobby. I can see that collecting birds on stamps is a huge undertaking. There must be a ton of stamps released with birds on them. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Love your identification tags for your stamps. I either cut from the invoice of stamps I buy if the info is complete or write it on a piece of paper.
    Probably in a few years I will do what you have done when I need to reorganize some of my larger world collections (and some older US colelctions - stamps from about the late 1990's usually have the date onthem and you only need to check if they are commemorative or definitives)

    • @chrislovesstamps
      @chrislovesstamps  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Chris. From the invoice is a good idea also. I think the identification tags (love that word by the way, better than 'labels' as I used to call them) in this video are too big. I have moved to smaller ones and am not showing catalogue value anymore. It is a lot of work, but 'just' showing year and catalogue value helps speeding it a bit up. I might do a video at some point showing this, instead of showing it when it is done. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Moet even kijken of mijn werk laptop het editen toestaat.

    Hi Chris! I find it extremely difficult to focus and narrow / lessen the number of countries and themes/topics I would like to collect. I remain all over the place, but maybe I should not worry too much, since I am still "feeling my way" in philately. Thank you for sharing your plans and goals. I think it shows me again as well that it is important to every now and then stop a bit and evaluate what you are doing and how to go ahead. You are doing very well with your channel and videos, but it is far more time consuming than what one would expect. I am not sure what is the best way: posting always regularly, e.g. once a week, and always on the same day, or as you think, to publish a video when it is finished at the standard you want. For me: I tried to regularly post on the same day every two weeks, but I missed dead lines, and sometimes I want to share something quickly ... thus, I am in that regard also all over the place! 🤪But I try very hard not to get anxious about it and loose all joy with making the videos. I think the best advise is to relax and do what is best for you - the same as in stamp collecting. ... OK, I wrote a lot here, but didn't say much! 😆... Just one more thing, it was interesting to see your Luxembourg collection while you spoke. Very impressive and neat! Stay safe and happy! 🙂

      Hi Charnie. It is hard to limit or lessen the number of countries/areas of interest. But should you? If you feel overwhelmed, then you should perhaps. But like you said, if you feel this is the right way for you to collect, then be the collector you want to be. And yes, stopping and evaluating is good, doubting yourself is not. As to TH-cam. I move away from the standard every Thursday releasing an episode. I have had times where I had 5 episodes made in advance. Risk is that you do not feel as connected to the episode anymore when the episode is released and the viewers commentate on it. It is a bad situation in my opinion. So now I do not want to make episodes in advance, just work on the next and release it when it is done. I think 'forcing' yourself to release an episode every week or something, also has implications: burnout, rush episodes, lack of quality.
      And you wrote a lot, and you said a lot. You gave good advice. Thanks for commenting!

      Hi Jabin. I like that you collect worldwide and limit yourself in the number of stamps. Very unique way of collecting. Are you collecting onkly MNH?

      @@chrislovesstamps Bangladesh mnh as facevalue here mostly ৳10($0.10), old are bit expensive, but still i will try to keep in mint condition. For foreign, both mint and used.

      @@chrislovesstamps i try to avoid agency stamps and illigal stamps. Many printing companies issues stamps by using countries name. And themes of those stamps have no relation with those countries. Like Sierra leone, Chad, Maldives etc.
