Really enjoyed your video, thanks, Chris. Loved hearing the stories behind the stamps, and the bonus at the end was a real surprise! I think I've got used Canadian press and St Lawrence River stamps, so I particularly liked to hear about those stories. So nice to see the photo illustrations too. What a cute jay! :)

Hi. I know what you mean, getting used to stamps. Like I thought 'ah, a Canadian Christmas stamp' (Praying Hands of Durer). There is always more to learn. And too often I just look at stamps and not question or wonder what they're about.
Thanks for the compliment and comment!

Chris, Well done. Very well researched. Looking forward to the next video of Canadian stamps.

Hi Daniel. Thanks for the compliment. Next is in the making. The initial idea was to have this video and the next as one, but it would run over 30 minutes, which is too long in my opinion.

Thanks for posting this video ,not familiar with David Usher so will check him out. I was 8 when the St. Lawrence Seaway opened and it was a big deal in Ontario. Our father brought home a block of four of the stamp for each of the kids stamp albums

Hi. That is a nice memory that your father brought you guys that! And I can imagine the opening of the seaway being a big deal. It was certainly interesting to learn about it.

I like to hear more about the stamps. One learn so much and appreciate each stamp even more. Whether it is a better format than showing more stamps I am not sure, Chris. I personally, though, enjoy this format and also enjoyed your video. I liked all the previous videos as well, though. 🙂 Thanks for an interesting video!!! I loved the jay bird stamp.

Hi Charnie. Thanks for your comment. I guess this format might not be for everyone. But the other isn't either. I prefer to look at videos with a bit more info. There are stamp channels only making slideshows and sometimes even with clickbaity titles like 'most rare stamps'. To each their own, but that content is in my opinion now helping our philatelic community on TH-cam.

Nice job. There is a companion stamp from the US for that st Laurence seaway stamp. I hadn’t realized there was a Canadian version.

One thing to do when you check them for placing them in a different way album format is to double check the tagging varieties. The precanels and the nice cancels on piece is another way to collect Canada and not have to move to an album type format.

Hi John. I still have a lot of work on my Canada collection, to organise it in a way that is more presentable and the way I like it. It is very rough yet. And I know of the variations. I hope you mean that with your comment, as I partly understand what you are trying to say. (could be because English is not my mother-tongue). Thanks for your comment!

I bought a collection at auction a year and half ago and still organizing it. I had a Scott specialized album so I also searched out supplements to further my collection pages to 2001. The collection I got had a lot of booklet panes and blocks of 4 with selvedge. Have a lot of Newfoundland both mint and used to go through . trading with a collector in Canada for some of the newer issues. I got a unitrade catalogue to help with the phosphor band prints which was what I meant on the variations. Also there are variations which some people collect and some do not in that there maybe a booklet stamp, sheet stamp and a coil of same issues.
