The worse part for me being disabled is that it slows me down walking as I wear a full leg brace of all 10lbs it weighs and my arm dangles when I walk. I suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at age 20 which resulted in a stroke. At 65 yrs I’ve gotten over it. I had 2 children after the stroke. Changed diapers faster w/one hand then someone with 2. I can do everything thing w/1 hand so I’ve adapted! I’ve got a lot of empathy that I probably wouldn’t have had I not had the stroke. I wasn’t suppose to live but I’m SO grateful I did. I live life to the fullest now! Love your channel you inspire me!
Love this! I don’t think anyone wants a disability for good reason but I do feel people with disabilities have far greater understandings and abilities that able bodied people simply don’t. I appreciate you sharing your experience as it has confirmed my wonderings.

Love y’all! If you are comfortable sharing more about your fertility journey, I imagine the decision to live with your folks was one in which they will be excited to enjoy grand parenting but also having their own space with a little one around. My folks and I did the same thing 18 years ago. I was so lucky and grateful to have them in my home with my baby boy. Have you and your folks talked about expectations for grand parenting roles being in the same household? Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us!
I thought Hannah was going to say the best perk was the abilitity to carry so many bags on Shane's chair. I loved that clip in whatever video it was where there were like 12 bags hanging off of Shane's chair. 😂 I am loving the Monday Grubbag series.

Shane’s life has great value because he makes people laugh, he has written for a TV show, he is making the world a better place with his (Hannah’s too) work to bring awareness of accessibility issues to the public. More importantly he and Hannah show us all how to live a happy life and what a great couple is.

Question for next time: Hannah, what advice would you give a woman about marry a disabled man? And Shane, what advice would you give a man about to marry a non-disabled woman?
I had a very small intro into the disability world when my 4 year old son was on high dose cancer treatments. He was in a wheelchair for about a year. The worst part of him being disabled was obviously the heath issues. The best was the people we met. In that short time we encountered so many wonderful, kind, intelligent, capable, caring and talented humans. I know this might make people uneasy but the contrast between the quality people in the disabled community vs the able bodied community was quite shocking. Nearly every single person in the disability community was generous, kind and incredibly self aware and motivated. It’s a strong contrast to general public who take for granted so many things because they simply haven’t had to worry about health issues or even their own mortality. It’s a perspective that I think many people with disabilities are blessed with as it changes the they appreciate the world and life in general. Watching my son navigate that time in his life has grounded me in a way that I probably never would have experienced otherwise.
I think that’s why so many people say horrible things like “I’d rather die than be disabled” because it has been hammered into their head that their physical appearance and abilities are the most important things in life and that you can’t be happy without that. Being disabled forces you to look within yourself to find happiness and it seems many disabled people find true sources of happiness more easily and don’t take as much for granted.

I haven't finished the video but so far my favorite question is how has your relationship grown. Like you try to be so perfect in the beginning. You have that shield up. Monday grub bag question: I've always wondered to what extent youtubers learn the names of people commenting. Do you have any followers that you've memorized the names of because you've seen it a lot? :) Or perhaps a thumbnail rather than the name.
I find some other youtubers I watch notice me. JP Videos When I first was watching him I was using my son's profile [ Ugh MOM! ] So I signed all my comments - Steph Luke's mom
Ok, I have never sent a comment to your Chanel and I simply can’t remain silent any longer. This is how I feel now at 72 and I felt since I learned that there ARE wicked ppl in our world. We are ALL disabled every single one of us. Some you can see others not so much and still others who troll have the most obvious disability. I’ll let you think on that one. I get what you two are and it too is obvious, at least to ppl who have experienced love. I see the love and I get it. You both are beautiful equally with your spirits balanced in love. Oh what a gift you two. Don’t let anyone take your light because they so badly need some. Ok I will get off soap box now. And yes I became disabled and myself for awhile until I made peace with my disabilities.
There are products to help with chlorine damage. You can also wear a swimming cap that seals well. I personally like chlorine in my hair, makes them lighter, like they used to be when I was younger 😉 Doesn't seem to do any damage if washed out after a swim, maybe because I never dyed or otherwise chemically treated my hair 🤷🏼♀️

If I were Hannah, I would say that the best part of Shane's disability is the fact that it's what brought them together, when she saw that documentary! Much love to you both! 💞
I can attest to that Shane I have CP as well and I was married to an able bodied woman she past away from breast cancer almost 6 yrs now and I would love to find love like you found your Queen Hanna God bless ya both always
I’m so happy your outlook is so great Shane! I wish I had that for myself. I have had polymyositis since I was 12 and am now 45. It’s been a long life of doctors and unanswered questions and getting weaker and weaker. My body hurts My husband left me. I have no kids. I keep falling and breaking bones. And my body hurts. I am tired, and I would personally rather not be here anymore. I’m tired. I don’t know how you have the attitude you do, but after my husband left, my mom died, broken bones and nursing homes (Hey that rhymes. I’m totally a country song right now. Lol) I have been homebound for 4 years… but my brother is getting me a van! I’m grateful I have a home, my family support, my critters, and one good friend. Also TH-camrs like you guys. You both love food and Shane loves beer so much has you guys ever considered starting a brewery shop, restaurant and pub, giving fans a place to visit and enjoy while also contributing to you as a local own establishment?
Grubbag question: did Shane ever have any surgeries to help with mobility (as in moving arms, legs, feet, fingers, joints, etc.) growing up? And would any surgeries help with that now as an adult?
MONDAY QUESTION: Would you rather fight one human sized ant, or 15 cat sized gorillas? No weapons. Befriending is a possibility, but must argue your method.
I think you're pretty inspiring, life & it's qualities is how we make it. You've done some crazy cool stuff & continue doing it which brings a lot of joy with humor as well as proof a disAbled life is still a good life, showing that is more valuable than you know, you touch so many people.
@RainbowSpringI think your attitude sucks and remember a person can become disabled at anytime during their life. (disease and accident) since you don't know what your future holds it wouldn't kill you to have compassion. You will probably find yourself sitting ALONE if a disability were to occur in your lifetime. Karma! Besides that what do YOU do for a living that men are touching you all the time? Hannah doesn't seem to be that kind of girl.
What if any assistive technologies do you use on phones and computers and how do they help you. What if any assistive technologies would you like to see that do not exist today?
I can be in the crabbiest mood (parenting is hard!) and listening to your videos will have me cracking up almost immediately. Mondays no longer suck so bad!
I've been watching you guys long enough to know that when you split your lives with her parents it would work. The secret sauce is in your personalities. There was no doubt you guys would be able to negotiate that successfully. And that speaks to the kind of people you are and the reason your channel is so successful. You're just adorable both of you.
You both look extremely happy & in love. Enjoy life. You cannot fix stupid or fight trolls. They're unhappy troglodites with empty lives. Much love to you both!
You can't fix them but you can report them. They will be banned after enough negative reports. They ask for the type of offense when you report and I use the harassment or bullying option because that's what it is. Of course they create a new account after being banned...but it still shows them we won't put up with their slime anymore.
You both truly are the best. You have such amazing love and devotion to one another and I love that. I’ve watched your channel for as long as I can remember and it brings me great joy to watching your videos. I’m from St. Paul, MN and thrilled to have a connection with you both. Keep up the great work!😃
Monday Grubbag questions: How does Shane eat on his own? (I know you’ve said he can but I don’t think you’ve ever shown him eating.) Also, is there any part of Shane’s body he can’t move at all? I love u guys so much 🙂
Oh come on, they showed his feeding robot at least twice. He cannot eat completely independently, can't prepare his own food. Someone has to either feed him or cut his food and place into the robot and set the robotic plate in an appropriate place. Shane cannot move his arms, he can only move his hands a little.
@@PrismaticPixie he can eat normal food, it just has to be cut up into small bites (he can't open his mouth too wide) and brought to his mouth (by either his obi or someone).
Any couple would be fortunate to obtain the level of love and devotion of one another that you two share! To watch your interaction with each other is truly a joy to behold! Hannah, as a child, what was your ambition as far as occupation? What is your degree in? Shane, same questions. Thanks
Squirmy and grubs, as an extreme introvert, watching you all makes me feel like I have friends who I can chat to any time, without actually talking if you know what I mean 😅 thank you for sharing your world with us!
I absolutely love your responses Shane, I actually belly laugh when I watch yalls videos lol, you have such a great personality and laugh for being someone so sad. 😉 Anyone that has been watching you guys for any amount of time can see what a strong connection you 2 have. Happy birthday Shane and here's to many many more 🍻
I’m living with myasthenia gravis, charcot marie tooth disease, degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis. Living with multiple disabilities is hard. People without disabilities are usually the most judgmental. I’m so glad you and others have found people to love you. Your videos make me hopeful. They make laugh and joyful.
I LOVE you two so very much!! You both are the coolest people I've ever know! Thank you for all you do! So my question is: if you guys were gonna write a funny, silly children's " Squirmy and Grubs" book , which cartoon character would most be like each your own personality that you would portray in the book, and what adventure would your cartoon characters do?
I just can't help but say this, Hannah is such a sweet person, and this is not lauding her for choosing to be with a disabled person or anything of that sort. She's just so humble and sweet and lovely that I keep having a crush on her with every new video. Of course Shane is a great guy too, funny and smart and cool! I'm so jealous of what they have😄❤️
You guys are so amazing! Don't worry about what people are saying. They must be miserable in their own lives they project it to yours. Love that you are living your truth and living life to the fullest and unapologetically. Love you both from Tonga in the South Pacific ❤
Serious question- I always have dark “bags” under my eyes. What is Shane’s secret to such a fresh looking complexion and such handsome smooth and pale under eyes???
Sleep is definitely an important factor. I usually never have bags under my eyes. But every once in awhile when I have a terrible night of sleep or if I take a quick nap during the day, I almost always wake up with bags under my eyes. I know you want them to answer and I hope you don't mind my advice. I think there's lots of other causes too but I don't know what they are.
@@maayan1832 I thought it was makeup to cover up dark circles tbh but I think they mentioned it in a video once and said it wasn't. Now I want to look up if there's a reason or cause to white circles under the eye
Same here about the dark under my eyes. You live your life with people saying to you, "Who BEAT YOU up!??" And "Did ya get into a FIGHT!?" Or "Did your BOYFRIEND beat you up!?" There's no end. When you get prescription glasses though the full framed ones deter the onlooking eye from the stupid cursed dark bags. I'd love to know a cure! Not into time consuming glamor, pop culture methods here like slapping cucumbers or muddy avocado on my eyes though- no time for all that nonsense.
@@lc4life369 One time somewhere I read online that it's genetic. Though not to confuse bags with general dark underneath the thin skin below the eyes. Bags are biological and medical, but dark is more genetic I think.
I have only recently discovered you two. You are lovely individuals and make a charming, amusing couple. I just ordered Shane’s first book! I have had many questions while watching your videos and wonder if you see new comments/questions on those old ones.
That is the best commencement speech I’ve ever heard and after HAVING to go to so many graduations over the years, I can guarantee that if Shane were the speaker and said something like that, I would willingly be there.
Yesss I asked the same question this time and last time but haven't gotten it answered. Mine is a little more specific tho. I asked what both of there favorite shows were from as far back as they can remember until now. (like from a toddler until now) and do they have a favorite show in common now. I hope one of our questions get picked
Monday Grubbag Question: my 10 year old daughter has a physical disability. She is a very happy little lady that lives life with her disability proudly but every now and then gets down on herself. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for these moments? I love you two and your relationship so much! This video had me cracking up laughing!
As a perpetually single disabled woman whose (also single) mom jokes about living with me forever, it's actually comforting that it can be done. Totally agree that the worst part of being disabled is the ableism, victim-blame and the fact that if yours is invisible, it's either completely denied, or blamed on a character flaw. And I can't believe that Mermaid Princess Hannah doesn't come with rainbow sprinkles!
You can see why and how easy is was for Hannah to fall in love with Shane what a fantastic, Funny, brilliant guy and also the same why Shane fell in love with Hannah. You both share such a deep connection and real true love 🥰 it’s so lovely to see. Sending you best wishes always 😊

I haven't finished the video but so far my favorite question is how has your relationship grown. Like you try to be so perfect in the beginning. You have that shield up. Buy as you spend more time with your significant other you start to relax and be more your true self. And your partner does too. Communication. Authenticity. Love. This video made me laugh and smile. Thank you. Keep up the good work!
Question: If you could only pick 4 characters from The office to do a reunion episode who would you pick?
I love Hannah’s reactions to Shane’s silliness. You two are amazing xx
Question: if money or disability wasn’t an issue what hobbies would each of you like to have or participate in?
Thank you for sharing your life stories with all of us! It is amazing how much people just assume about the two of you and your lives. I look forward to your videos and hope we can all enjoy them for many years to come.
Monday grub bag question: I've always wondered to what extent youtubers learn the names of people commenting. Do you have any followers that you've memorized the names of because you've seen it a lot? :) Or perhaps a thumbnail rather than the name.
great q
Or maybe have sent them gifts or meet them in person.
I find some other youtubers I watch notice me.
JP Videos
When I first was watching him I was using my son's profile
[ Ugh MOM! ]
So I signed all my comments - Steph Luke's mom
Hanna has said they don’t read the comments, so I am guessing no.
@@mars4697 they just said they read them to get the questions for Monday's.
Lost
Trolls have the most obvious disability.
Best comment ever.
Hannah do you have any advice for protecting your hair from chlorine? Any product tips? Thank you!
There are products to help with chlorine damage. You can also wear a swimming cap that seals well.
I personally like chlorine in my hair, makes them lighter, like they used to be when I was younger 😉
Doesn't seem to do any damage if washed out after a swim, maybe because I never dyed or otherwise chemically treated my hair 🤷🏼♀️
Amie, you should take heed of the reply. Hannah is not the only person in the world that knows her stuff about swimming! 🙂
@@d-meth cool I’ll check them out. Appreciate your response
@@amie6243 check out trihard products, aqua guard, etc
Also check out swimmers websites for tips and recommendations.
You'll find something that works for you 🙂
I’m a nurse working stressful 12 hour shifts while 35 weeks pregnant. I spent my one 30 minute lunch break watching your videos (which I often do!) and I’ve laughed out loud so many times. Thank you!
Grubbag question: Hannah, do you have a workout routine now as a former college athlete? If so what is it?
yaaay, I was looking for a new squirmy and grubs vid! Makin' my Monday better!
You are both rock stars. You exhibit love, strength and an amazing humor that really is inspirational.
If I were Hannah, I would say that the best part of Shane's disability is the fact that it's what brought them together, when she saw that documentary! Much love to you both! 💞
I can attest to that Shane I have CP as well and I was married to an able bodied woman she past away from breast cancer almost 6 yrs now and I would love to find love like you found your Queen Hanna God bless ya both always
sorry for your loss 🙏
@@lynettesanchez9315 Thats sweet ty love
I wish wish we had TH-cam 33 years ago! You help people like me feel not so quite alone. Akkk 33 years ago. And I’m old! Lol
“He’s tiny he must be sad” omg you’re hilarious. Keep up Monday grubs !!
My son is 23 with Duchenne. It's really inspiring watching ya'll and seeing the different possibilities for his future! Love you guys! ❤️
It is refreshing to see a couple so in love , laughing at The idiocies of a small-minded society.
Shane's laugh is contagious and his expressions he could do a committee act
Monday grub bag question: has there been any country that you've wanted to travel to that would be impractical due to their lack of accessibility?
Haha i lost it at shanes no hesitation “im ready” and goes straight into the speech
MONDAY QUESTION: Would you rather fight one human sized ant, or 15 cat sized gorillas? No weapons. Befriending is a possibility, but must argue your method.
Ugh I really would rather befriend the gorillas. I hate how ants look up close
Lol! Shane asked for fun questions, this is a good one.
I think you're pretty inspiring, life & it's qualities is how we make it. You've done some crazy cool stuff & continue doing it which brings a lot of joy with humor as well as proof a disAbled life is still a good life, showing that is more valuable than you know, you touch so many people.
Monday Grub Bag Question: If you were to submit a new chip flavor to Lays for their chip contest, what flavor would each of you choose?
You know Shane’s is gonna be beer flavored lol
I'm really enjoying these Monday Grub Bag videos! You two are incredibly great together and it's fun learning new things about your lives.
Monday question: What did Hannah major in at college and does she ever intend to pursue this as a career?
In the description of the video they have bios
@RainbowSpringI think your attitude sucks and remember a person can become disabled at anytime during their life. (disease and accident) since you don't know what your future holds it wouldn't kill you to have compassion. You will probably find yourself sitting ALONE if a disability were to occur in your lifetime. Karma! Besides that what do YOU do for a living that men are touching you all the time?
Hannah doesn't seem to be that kind of girl.
Sociology and Anthropology
This is your best Monday Grub Bag. Great questions and answers.
You two are great together... Screw the people that are negative. Just ignore them, I know it's hard but try not to waste your time on them.
You both look extremely happy & in love. Enjoy life. You cannot fix stupid or fight trolls. They're unhappy troglodites with empty lives. Much love to you both!
"Unhappy troglodites" 😊😁 one of the most poetic insults I've ever heard.
Keep up the great work!😃
Monday Grubbag questions:
How does Shane eat on his own? (I know you’ve said he can but I don’t think you’ve ever shown him eating.)
Also, is there any part of Shane’s body he can’t move at all? I love u guys so much 🙂
I’m interested in this as well. Like does he eat regular food or does it have to be a softer consistency etc.?
He’s got that robot arm
Oh come on, they showed his feeding robot at least twice.
He cannot eat completely independently, can't prepare his own food. Someone has to either feed him or cut his food and place into the robot and set the robotic plate in an appropriate place.
Shane cannot move his arms, he can only move his hands a little.
@@PrismaticPixie he can eat normal food, it just has to be cut up into small bites (he can't open his mouth too wide) and brought to his mouth (by either his obi or someone).
@@giantfatberg he also has an obi, a feeding robot
I laughed out loud at Shane's commencement speech. You are hilarious, Shane! Where did you get that great sense of humor??
Loving having more content lately 😌
MG question: if a beer was named after Shane what would the name be and what type of beer 🍺 would it be?
That's a good one!
Well wouldn't the obvious be Shane beer.? And either you know who he is or not. No biggie
I'm so jealous of what they have😄❤️
What animal best personifies your personality and self image?
I have wondered the same thing, 😆 Shane has the opposite of dark under eyes, he has white under eyes 👀
Absolutely loved this variety of questions hahahah such a good mix of “real life questions” and nonsensical ones! Haha
Oh they should definitely keep throwing in the nonsensical ones, agreed!
@@mincedmash796 hahaha I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing 🤣🤣
That is the best commencement speech I’ve ever heard and after HAVING to go to so many graduations over the years, I can guarantee that if Shane were the speaker and said something like that, I would willingly be there.
Grubbag question: what television children’s show was your favorite?
Yesss I asked the same question this time and last time but haven't gotten it answered. Mine is a little more specific tho. I asked what both of there favorite shows were from as far back as they can remember until now. (like from a toddler until now) and do they have a favorite show in common now. I hope one of our questions get picked
@@lc4life369 I spammed the comment section with an arrangement of questions last week. And they answered my alarm question. Lol.
Love this question!
Such a day brightener!! You are so fun together - Shane, you are hilarious! One of the best things about Mondays. :)
What does Shane do when Hannah wants to go to bed early?
"Let's pat ourselves on the back! Can you... do it..." 😄 You two crack me up. Hooray Monday Grub Bag!!
Why do you not use a staff for your daily self care?
You can see why and how easy is was for Hannah to fall in love with Shane what a fantastic, Funny, brilliant guy and also the same why Shane fell in love with Hannah. You both share such a deep connection and real true love 🥰 it’s so lovely to see. Sending you best wishes always 😊
