If you guys could have a “Freaky Friday” body swap for one day: Hannah what experiences would you want to have in Shane’s body? And Shane, what experiences would you want in Hannah’s?
I love the way you two interact together. You can tell that you are best friends. People that think you are fake must really be shallow. To think that people are so incapable of believing that disabled people can give and get love like anyone else, it’s just sad. I’m glad you are using your voice to stop this narrative. You are blessed to find love, because many people never do.
Hannah I love the look on your face when Shane goes off the deep end in his stories. Love it. Been married for 40 years and give the same looks cuz he is full of crap as well.🤣😁
LOL!! I totally had to rewatch the "surprise" video after Hannah explained what it was. I was SOOO lost, but I was laughing hysterically when Shane described how excited she was to grab the camera.
I did not even know ableism is a thing. I do now though, I looked it up. Since getting to know you Shane (so to speak) I have learned a great deal regarding the disability community. Thank you for opening my eyes. You truly are in educator. I laugh while I learn.
you both have such a wonderful way of making me feel like i’m just sitting with a couple friends when i watch your videos. thank you for the wonderful company and all the laughs 💜
Grub bag question (well, more of a request, actually....). Shane, could you please share what your school experience was like growing up? Were you in an inclusive classroom environment? Did you have a classroom paraeducator? How did your teachers accommodate your disability? What types of extracurricular activities were you involved in outside of school? Thanks!!
Question for Shane: I have been living with an “invisible disability”( fibromyalgia) for 9 years and I although I still struggle a bit with mentally accepting it, my main day-to-day battle is getting others to understand I’m not faking or exaggerating my issues. I think my question is…Do you think the general public treats both visible and invisible disabilities with equal judgement? Ps… I love love love seeing how you two have grown as a couple and shared your journey. If you ever travel 8 hrs straight north to Canada I would love to share the best icecream and local beer places. 💙
That's so interesting how Shane speaks about his past internalised ableism. It made me think of having a lot of internalised misogyny growing up, such as the 'I'm not like other girls' trope (as Shane said he wanted to be.. Not like 'other disabled people.') I would criticise myself and other women constantly. When you realise it's the deep (learned!) insecurities within you that are causing it, its a revelation. When you can eventually choose compassion, to connect with yourself again and others like you. Contributing to positive change > contributing to the problem. I love the honesty, thanks for that 🙌
Question: As a health care provider, what can I do to reduce the abelism in the health care field? I think many hospitals and health care providers have an abelist point of view that interferes with patients having the best experience with doctors
I have many disabilities so from my experience clear masks masks make it hard to lip read and also harder to understand body language. People tend to listen and talk to the people I’m with more than me and I really want to feel like it’s my decision and my voice they want to hear. Having rooms that are easier for wheelchairs so it’s not super crowded or super hard to get in/out. A lot of it is really communication I have medical ptsd as well as from other things so just being kind and patient and willing to explain things in a way that’s understood and really listing to concerns I’m sure will take you far thank you for trying to make health care more accessible.
I wish more doctors would ask this. In essence the answer is treat people with disabilities as people first. See them as real people!! And advocate please for wheelchair accessible designs in hospital and doctor settings.
Monday Grub Bag just keeps getting better and better! 💜💜 I really appreciated Hannah's explanation of her short film, gonna go rewatch to pick up on those highlights. 😁
Before my mom just passed. I made it as fun as possible going out many times a week before covid . When my mom transitioned to a walker then chair I immediately noticed how hard it was to find where the ramp areas were for basic side walks at our local grocery stores and outside shops. Never realized it untill basic mobility could not involve a small step. Would really enjoy more ongoing updates and awareness in having things more accessible and what you are doing. Also what others could do to have changes made. I think it's a big area being missed that would be of great service

Two part question. Shane, what is the best advice or saying you could give someone who is beginning to feel dejected or feeling like they just don't matter any more. 2nd. question for Hanna. What do you say to Shane to snap him back into reality whenever he is feeling down on himself or starting to have doubts. Love your videos.

11:36 Yay you answered my question! Thank you! I figured you might not as some people were getting negative in the responses, but you did and I'm so happy. Very fun to hear that you do learn the names/thumbnails of some people and have conversations about it, I always thought I would in your shoes but I've never been there so it's interesting to hear your perspective on it. I definitely talk to people in my life about the channels that I regularly watch, and to know that it happens on the other side too is fun because it makes it more of a community and a two-way street :) Thank you for answering my question, and for this series. Q&A were really popular back in the day and I personally enjoy them so it's fun to see a revival, and I think it fits your channel and the work you do especially well so it's a great choice I think.
You are both hilarious (but I can appreciate Hannah's excitement over the turtle). I saw a bear the other day and wanted to get pictures of it when I was brought back to the reality of potential death. Love your video's.
@@mincedmash796 no, not like that, at all. But there's likely no use talking to you about it. It seems apparent by your callous thinking and speaking that you could never love anyone who didn't fit within your physical biases. Hopefully, you never find yourself disabled and unlovable.
Questions for next Monday Grub-bag: How have you made your new wheelchair more comfortable and usable? I was under the impression you would have to go to many expensive fitting appointments to make it work better for you but that hasn't been mentioned. Obviously things happen in your life that you don't talk about on the internet and that's totally understandable, so if this is one of those things, that's fine. Just curious what changes you made to make it work better? As there was a question about ableism, I remembered the first time I watched a video of yours and thinking that Shane was mentally disabled just because he was in a wheelchair which seems like such a dumb thing to think! Of course after three minutes of watching your video I realized how wrong I was but that’s just a sad thing in general, this embedded ableism or the lack of reflecting on my thoughts on disability. Luckily this was one year ago and since then your videos changed my perspective on disability massively which makes me very happy! One of the first things I learned from you was to remember for example talking to the person in the wheelchair themselves and not to the accompanying person, which seems like such a obvious thing now for me to do… but yeah, society taught us otherwise and I really hope that many other people will find your channel and change their minds… it’s about damn time! Anyways, thanks for the entertaining video (as always). Lots of love from Germany
The love you two share is sooo sweet! Thank you for sharing your life. It's nice to have people who understand that true love is precious. You are a cross between adorable and dorky . . . adorkable. I'm with you Shane on the UFO's and gov't. I too use a wheelchair and I appreciated the part about not wearing shoes, I am one of those people. I can walk, but I have Erythromelalgia (EM - man on fire) which makes my feet feel like they have been walking on hot coals, it is especially painful if I wear shoes or socks. I've not owned socks for 20 years and I have a pair of shoes that are covered in this dust under the bed, just in case the EM miraculously goes away.
I have so much respect and love you guys so much. I appreciate your honesty and how directly you answer and Shane really should do standup comedy because he's hilarious ♥️
You guys love each other as much as my husband and I love each other. My husband and I have been married this year on Halloween for 24 years and love each other more and more each day if that is even possible. I loved all of your answers. I love you guys so much!!!!
Awesome short clip Hannah. I thought it was a dang snake trying to wrap itself around a big turtle carrying a little turtle....LOL. I really need to get my eyes checked!
Question for Hannah: You have obviously been able to come to a realization that a man like Shane can be a man for you. But your ability to see potential in him is a minority ability. So Hannah, what could you tell walking people about seeing potential romantic opportunities with people who have physical disabilities? Any thoughts you can share to help walking people expand their horizons to include people with disabilities as potential partners? By and large in life, walking people struggle to see any potential with people with disabilities, besides platonic friendships.
Interesting question! Well said. I agree that it is a minority ability though people with disabilities are worthy of love so it could be good to learn ways to open our minds and expand our thinking out of what society might have conditioned us to feel. Watching Hannah and Shane helped me to personally realize that for me I'm just either attracted to someone or I'm not. A person's disability might have something to do with why I feel unattracted to them but then I might also find someone with a similar disability attractive. It's like attraction for me is kind of unexplainable and impossible to put into a box so I'm open to anyone but that doesn't mean I'm attracted to anyone. Hard to explain but my main point is watching Hannah and Shane helped me to open my mind and see that it's not really disability vs non disability that makes me attracted to someone but it's more just whether or not I'm attracted to that person as a whole. I'm interested to hear Hannah's answer on this!
I think that’s part of the reason they started and kept making youtube videos. They want people to expand their horizons, to let them see that people with disabilities are just normal people. We as viewers see the value in both Hannah ‘and’ Shane. They both have great qualities. Personal attraction can’t really be swayed but seeing disabled people as human certainly helps.
You two crack me up…thank you for always bringing a smile to my face. You have such love for one another and it’s beautiful to watch. Thank you thank you😘
I appreciate you guys, I have been made more aware of my surroundings and with that I have been able to be okay with asking for accomadations (sp?) When needed, and more mindful of others that may need it.
OMG! I love this! When my son was in school, I always made sure that he kept up with the "fashion" that his peers were wearing. I made him suffer through hair styling (okay, like all kids get to do, my son didn't get to miss that "just because he has a disability"!), and fancy expensive athletic shoes (we live in SF Bay Area, Silicone Valley to be more specific, and fashion isn't cheap here either) over his knee high orthotics. By the time he was in high school, he was just so into comfort, it literally took his one-to-one aide to ask me why I didn't let him wear pants with elastic waste that would be easier for changing him and allow his stomach to not be so confined. Before his fusion, he had scoliosis and it never occurred to me that he would be more comfortable, like medically comfortable, in something else. Now, he's 34 and is 100% about comfort, could care less about what society thinks of it, and unless we're going to something special, his uniform of the day is sweats, or crazy leggings, t-shirts, and slip on shoes (winter is Uggs all the way). It's all about balance I guess.
Living next to a pond is paying dividends for Hannah! I like the thought of Hannah spending all of her free time standing at a window in the house looking for wildlife every day.
I found you one night while I was checking out TH-cam. I have been busy trying to catch up on all your videos. Fell in love!!!! All my family members now know of you!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks for the suggestion to re-watch the "movie" for those highlights Hannah! I did re-watch it and only then did I see the little painted turtle on the back of the snapper. I wonder if they were mating????
I absolutely LOVE that you both compromise in your beautiful and blossoming relationship! When I spent nights at my fiance's house, we were both night owls, but if I got too tired and he wanted to stay up longer, I would let him know to wake me up when he is ready to go to bed.

Having an invisible disability is a double edged sword: Disabled people don’t see us as disabled, Able-bodied don’t see don’t see us as ‘disabled’ (I’ve been challenged in parking lots about my place card that I am using someone else’s disabled place card). What advice would you give to an interabled couple with an INVISIBLE disability? We seem to not fit into any world.
😂 You guys never fail to make me smile & laugh. Swimming, Walking & Pilates are prob the best forms of exercise you can do because they are so low impact and good mix of cardio + weight bearing. Plus you are super active during the day anyway with cooking, cleaning, caring responsibilities, etc. Whatever you are doing it's working because you have an incredible physique and are healthy and happy. So keep doing it! :)
I loved the snapping turtle surprise! I stopped traffic at an intersection to help a huge snapping turtle get accross the road. I was totally scared but didn't want it to get hit by a car. He peed on me when I picked him up. I got back in my car made a right turn at the light and promptly ran over a chipmunk. I cried for miles. Have you ever saved the life of another being?
You guys crack me up. As a retired teacher of students with disabilities, what hope do you see for real reform in exceptional education? Great channel. Love everything about your videos. Great ending today!
I want to tell you I’ve watched that surprise video over and over and I can’t see the invisible snapping turtle having a fight. I think you two should use that video as some sort of monster in a scary video and air a little bit every Monday…..it would draw people into the mystery and you might earn an Emmy…I’m serious

Thanks for the grub bag! 10/10 snapping turtle video, Hannah! Have a good week, guys
The abject look of disgust on Hannah's face when she said "run" was perfect.
These are really good questions and answers. I had to keep rewinding to watch because your questions sparked conversations with the family.👍
"I would want to be mars, the whole thing." I cackled. I haven't been watching you guys for a bit so that I could binge watch. :)
Got here early! Never been this early though! Thank you for Monday Grub Bag! Love you both!
Great question
agree.i have hidden disabilities.
deaf,asthmatic.
5 love languages by Dr Chapman might help with the why and how love can and does exist, develop, grow between 2 people. I'm serious.
The look on Hannah's face when she said "Run?!" was a mood that reached to my soul
Thank goodness, finally..the snapping turtle footage I've been waiting for! Thank you.
Living next to a pond is paying dividends for Hannah!
I like the thought of Hannah spending all of her free time standing at a window in the house looking for wildlife every day.
I did in fact rewatch the turtle video after your description Hannah, loved it even more the second time around!
I’m so happy I came across you two on the internets. I love you guys.
I love the soundtrack to your short film! Sounds like stuff I make/listen to.
I absolutely LOVE that you both compromise in your beautiful and blossoming relationship!
When I spent nights at my fiance's house, we were both night owls, but if I got too tired and he wanted to stay up longer, I would let him know to wake me up when he is ready to go to bed.
Here’s my question for one of the Monday Q&A: Hannah I’ve heard you sing in a few videos and you have a beautiful voice! Did you ever have singing lessons? :)
l LOVE Monday GrubBag!! Yous guys are awesone ;and I adore you two as a couple so much! Thank You for sharing your lives with us❤😊 holy crap I thought that was a baby on the big one .... so freaking awesome👌🏽
I’ve looked forward to this series all week!! Thanks for sharing! Hannah, your short film was exquisite;) I can dig it!!!
As the pond turns... turtle drama on the pond this week...stay tuned for what happens next!! LOVE IT Hannah
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shane "a toilet"
Hannah "Oh Shane. Oh my god. That is gross. You wouldn't like that." Lol the way you said it so calm but like defeated/annoyed kinda sounding. You crack me up sometimes when you respond to his crazy answers.
Happy Birthday Shane 🥂
When I hear you two describe your relationship I am blown away! I know it’s not perfect, but it is a lovely example for all of your viewers. What is your advice for those of us looking for love?
You guys are hands down my favorite TH-camrs out there. I love your positive attitudes ❤️ Q: Hannah, would you ever dye your hair? If so what color?
Omg I found your channel yesterday and I can’t stop watching you guys. You are so cute, You embrace life through laughter and it’s infectious. I have never laughed so much with my earbuds on my hubby pokes me at 2am… not a vlog to fall asleep to 🤣
I swear you guys are so funny, your humor feeds off each other…I love ya’ll!
I love this question as I also have an invisible disability. I would love to her what they have to say
Good to see you are alive Shane. Can’t wait to join your new blog. Have you ever thought about partnering with audible to have an audio version of it?
I love you two so much your chemistry is incredible, Shane really keeps Hannah laughing I fucking love it
This was a cute video. Shane, you’re funny & a great communicator. Chloe questions were perfect. 😂
I totally enjoy listening and watching you two. Love your sense of humor. Xo
I'm so please you said what the surprise was because my poor British brain did not understand what animal I was seeing.
Your film was awesome Hannah!
Nice to see you two again. You always make me laugh at your antics.
You guys crack me up. As a retired teacher of students with disabilities, what hope do you see for real reform in exceptional education? Great channel. Love everything about your videos. Great ending today!
I’m just loving this series! It’s fun to have a mix of real and silly questions!
I want to tell you I’ve watched that surprise video over and over and I can’t see the invisible snapping turtle having a fight. I think you two should use that video as some sort of monster in a scary video and air a little bit every Monday…..it would draw people into the mystery and you might earn an Emmy…I’m serious
I love how open y’all are!
OMG you guys are awesome!!! Thank you very much for your positive videos and for always making me leave with a smile on my face!
Two Questions!
1) Hannah you keep talking about liking snacks. How do you stay so thin??
2) Shane, are you still taking treatments to help your muscles like you spoke about sometime ago? You talk so clearly so I was wondering if you are still taking them
You two always make me laugh 😂. Will Hannah’s film be featured at Cann?
