@@cagecunningham6316 I'd argue Jeskai is the best fit. Red for the creation of presents and the festivities, white for the communal good will and the fact that he judges everyone on moral grounds to determine the appropriate items to give, blue for the borderline omniscient knowledge of how people have behaved and because there is clearly some sort of time walk shenanigans going on for the deliveries.
Cyan Light My train of thought agreed with the White in W/R and then the next color I thought was blue... so I think you described it perfectly. +1 for winning the Magic Holidays
I would say he'd be either Naya or Ink-Treader, white for the aforementioned reason, green for the Christmas tree and Holly Wreath, red for the festivities and wine that both flow freely in December, with blue being for his omniscience and knowing what everyone wants
from most legit to least legit (imho):
Red because of the party aspect (not party hard enough to be Rakdos colors), also because the outfit is already red
White because of the moral judgment
Blue because it is a flying creature that probably get another evasion ability from how he goes into chimneys
Green and Black because he makes food tokens?
Llanowar Elves has been an all time favourite of my brother. I’ve been playing against that card for almost 25 years now 😱

My Christmas day here in Australia was characterised by it being way too hot.
Normally I'd shill my top 10. But since this is a Christmas video, I feel like instead wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. This year has not treated me particularly well, but I'm hopefully that the new decade brings prosperity and joy to everyone.

2.) I remember pulling a couple of Deathrite Shamans when I first started playing MTG (in the RTR block, funnily enough) and wondering what was so good about the card. It wasn't worth anything money wise, and I just did not understand how powerful exiling stuff from a graveyard was. Good card, and yet my prejudice must still carry over because I'm still confused about it being the top elf out of literally over 400 others in terms of points. Time to use it in Pioneer I guess. 🤷♂️
It won't be good enough in Pioneer. Fetches are banned which is kinda backbreaking for it.
Reclamation Sage's one toughness puts it at a big disadvantage. If you want to pump it later that one toughness really rears it's head.

I always play with Elvish Berserker when I play green, great card that's good at any point in the game.
Elvish Berserker is not good at any point in the game. It is good at no points of the game!
Elves make mana which makes toys come out faster so they are doing their job.
I like nissa as she's a fun commander card since she's a planeswalker that is a commander.
I remember you doing this one before. Was this an update/remake?

Nizzahon, at your number 2 slot, you put Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic, but not Fyndhorn Elf - another functionaly identical card. Does that mean that the Fyndhorn Elf has NEVER showed up in ANY tournament deck, or just so few that it has fewer points than even your number 10?
It has points, but not enough to make the list.
Viridian Shaman's a great card. 3 for a 2/2 creature and an artifact destruction card is so powerful it's hard to believe they printed it.
Deathrite shaman is the bomb. It's so crazy I love this card keep up the great videos

Santa's elves are more like gnomes to be fair.
But yes in Scandinavia you would translate them with gnomes. They look about the same though.
@@dier440 We say he has "nisser" which basically translate into gnomes. Google the house gnome/house nisse, it's great fun.

Elvish berserker is my favorite card, I love elves :)
They keep teasing us with cards that look like they'd fit in the elf deck....but don't really change much. Waiting for our Elf God

My guess would be people whose pet elf cards didn't make the list.
I think many other elves with far more usefull skills for tribal pure elf deck, like Elvish archdruid, Joraga war caller, Ezuri (Renegade leader), wellwisher, elvish champion, heritage druid, WR vanquisher or tatalia batallion.
There new amazing elves in the last editions.

I thought you were showing elvish mystic just because it is functionally identical to llanowar elves, not because of how many points it had.
At first I was like how are Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic only in second place, and then I saw the next card.... DUH... why didn't they just make the cost of Deathrite Shaman one G instead of one G/B... It probably would still be bannable, but at least it wouldn't be played in every single deck ever.
Elves are a big tribe and look fun. But I have a slight stigma against them

@@carljohnson5121 They can get crazy pretty fast, yeah. I can understand why that'd be frustrating. But I do recommend trying them out; Elf tribal isn't my thing either but you might enjoy them if you're on the giving end of their explosiveness.

Priest deck with pipers and cradles back in the day allowed for massive creatures on turn 3 and 4 and mana reserves for asshole moves like skyshroud elfs and fireball for 10 to 20 lol

Priest of titainia was broken back when and no pipers? Cmon now turn 4 10/10 or literally any other creature you wa na run for 1 mana, how is piper not in this list
Not enough points. It hasn't seen a lot of tournament play.
Elvish Piper has 1 point and is frankly not a good card. A 4 mana 1/1 that needs a turn to set up just gets destroyed in most cases. There are way better ways to cheat things into play in every format it is legal in.
Priest of Titania has 16 points. It was played a decent amount 1999-2000, but has only 2 points since then.

Such a great topic...but an unfortunate reminder that you cover tournament stats.
As a commander player, this is NOT a top 10 elves list that I can debate and assess.
Most of these are highly playable in EDH.
All cards are playable in commander, but this doesn't resemble what would be a top 10 Elves in commander.
@@orgazmo686971 but that's a subjective list. These lists are interesting but are still not a full a good representation of what's the "best"
I don't know what to tell you, other than you can find tons of EDH content other places.
I still like your content, but the conversation doesn't extend to what else is good or can be made good.
These are the cards that have shown play in competitive leagues for the given formats. If you say that the number #1 elf has 150 points...There's no room to debate and assess other cards.
