    Great video, but 250 for the ipad dash kit is too much

    • @cmendoza1094

      2 dollars? That looks like you could easily vacuum form it yourself. Don't see the point in buying a dash kit

  • @2ndshiftaudio300

    Totally cool vid Mark. But, have you seen the price of this Ipad kit. You have got to be kidding.

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +2ndshiftaudio The injection molding tools for each different version can be as expensive as $20,000 dollars to have machined, thats just the start up cost, then ou have to place a minimum order with the production company . The target audience for this product is pretty small so price will be high. That's why we need to grow fabrication and car audio, more customers and costs will come down. The kit does make the process much faster so you just have to weigh your time against the money.

    • @dre04mach
      @dre04mach 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +CarAudioFabrication While Injection molding is nice, I feel it is a bit overkill for this. Someone with a sligthly fancier (read higher print envelope) 3D printer could easily make that for pennies on the dollar. That aside, what's used behind it to run the ipad? I imagine bluetooth for the audio, any other gizmos? Wireless charging? Wifi backup camera?

    • @CarAudioInc
      @CarAudioInc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      3D printers are printed for pennies on the dollar at your local kinkos.

    Great job Mark, got to wear my CAF t-shirt for the first time a couple of days ago when we had warm weather, love it. BTW you might want to add a primer coat in between your mud and texture coat, sand and then paint that gives you a filler coat for any minute flaws in the plastic filler. Check out my video of my iPad Mini install.

    I love your videos and have learned a lot. Thank you. Was this for a 2010-2014 Mustang? I am trying to figure out how to put a new stereo in without it costing me $800 bucks. The after market piece for those cars is 300 and a decent deck is another $500. If this was for a Mustang, 2014 Thats awesome.

    do you know if sound man makes a kit for LG tablets.

    • @frankthetankricard
      @frankthetankricard 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Keith Harris They have just the one for the Nexus 7. Also made a limited number of (mdf) kits for android tablets but I seem to recall that they sold out pretty fast. You can actually make one yourself, check their video titled "Subaru Forester iPad install , and NEW Android Dash Kits". If you're not into diy stuff, you could even get someone to make a kit for you locally, it's pretty straight forward.
      Their main focus is on apple tablets, that's what they're famous for and know well, thus their injection molded plastic kits only cover those products. Also, they are more expensive than a reasonably good android tablet for a piece of plastic and a few magnets. You mostly pay for the RnD they put into it and the ridiculously high price of manufacturing since they can't produce and sell millions of units.

    • @mtemp2006
      @mtemp2006 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jays4forces No, that was the old way of doing it, Transit Blu or Bluetooth amplifiers or Bluetooth dongle that hooks into a Line driver or DSP is the idea way. Radio is the cheap way and never gives the look you really want to show off. Few cars can make it look good having the dash room to put the radio behind it.
