Batman better choose his targets carefully then. That would legitimately kill some people.

The crazy part is that TDKR was published a few years before Jason was killed, and it did include the Mutant Leader beating Batman with a crowbar.
@@batbrick3949 Yeah, it's interesting that Frank Miller included it without any context, and then several years later it came true, completely coincidentally; as opposed to the line about pretending ginger ale was champagne, which happened in Year One, which Miller wrote after TDKR and called back to.
Carrie had a gymnastics trophy and three medals in her room. Bronze, silver, and gold. So I’d say she has plenty of experience in it. The costume is legit just a costume, like you can see the bag on her bed that says Robin Costume 😂

If you like old Batman, Batman Beyond is a fucking amazing take on old Bruce and a fantastic show in general.
She should watch the show first and then the movie or watch the animated series as it takes place in the same universe
she should watch all the shows from that universe. Batman The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Superman The Animated series, Justice League, JL Unlimited, Static Shock, Zeta Project and Batman Beyond
Return of the Joker is epic. Somehow the censored version or "that one scene" is more gruesome than the uncensored one.

Peter Weller makes for such a good Bruce/Batman VA, wish there was a bit more with him as bats or even an other world version of the bat alongside the current animated movie version of him
Some people say that this story doesn’t really portray Batman well, but honestly I think few other Batman stories explore the ptsd from his parents as well as this. They all overuse his parent’s death scene to add “emotion” but this is one of the few iterations that show it’s an actual mental scar. And I think this is the version that started the trend?
I've always thought Batman's character should always be a mentally scarred and traumatized person. Not the no kill, almost boy scout-esque type of character many seem to want him to be
@@MrFredstt The no killing is part of the scar. He is just as insane and mentally broken as most of his rogues gallery. His broken mental state pushes him to extreme levels of paranoia, obsession, pushing his body and mind to its absolute limit in order to take on the criminal element, but pushing himself even harder to make sure he can never kill. It’s the only thing keeping him from becoming one of the monsters he fights. It’s the balance to his insanity. If he loses it, he’ll go over the edge and be for ever lost to his brokenness.
@@MrFredstt But what’s the point of that? The whole point of Batman, as far as I can tell, is that he doesn’t break and he can overcome anything with time and effort. So not killing and eventually forming the Bat-Family fits that idea. But being broken by what happened to the point he lets his flaws control his every decision would mean he has given up and isn’t any better than the villains.
Plus nobody is asking for Batman to be a boy scout, but personally I’m just tired of seeing the same Batman story over and over again and I imagine many feel the same way. There’s more to Batman than being a brooding loner who yells dramatically that he is vengeance and constantly fighting the Joker.

This Batman and Zack Snyder's Batman in BvS got the same energy. Theres a lot of similar scenes in this animated movie and BvS.
Also, the same Batman tank and gang from this movie was in ZSJL at the end
That's because Zach Snyder really wanted to do a Dark Knight Returns and WB said no, so he did it anyway.

If you didnt know Krysta or if you want to acknowledge on the second part. This was the main inspiration for the Batman brought to screen by Zack Snyder, portrayed by Ben Affleck and you can see alot of the same imagery presented especially the themes.
Even to the simple point of saying “Batman is buff, he can be my sugar daddy” lol but then look at Ben Affleck when he played the character😭

Such a badass line
The only thing that did that line slightly better was the scene that referenced Dark Knight Returns in The Batman/Superman Adventures. Batman, voiced by Michael Ironside says "It's an operating table" (You see Batman grab the leader's leg as lighting strikes and you hear a loud crack followed by the Mutant Leader screaming) "And I'm the surgeon."
I've realized that as bruce ages he has to really use the shadows and element of surprise more than ever
Bare in mind this story is basically an alternate non canon future that could’ve happened but didn’t. For instance, Jason is still dead and there’s been no Robin since.
Also that a certain someone is obsessed with Bruce for some reason

It gets me every time because I always get that part mixed up with another animated movie where Gordon gets shot, but fakes his death to throw off whoever tried to assassinate him.
This was a great treat during work. Peter Wellers a dope Batman and I love the fights in these two films. Dont know how your planning on going through the rest of dc animation but I hope you’ll at least watch the Bruce timm Batman movies and Batman Beyond. Lots of fun thanks for the vids.😝

I still think it's crazy that Joker just became a freaking vegetable ever since Joker retired, like a computer going into sleep mode until the owner comes back to turn it back on. That's a level of co-dependency that I can barely describe.

Honestly the older I get the more I can relate to Bruce he has some sort of ptsd and it gets triggered with things like when he saw the pearls it can bring u back I lost my parents at like 12 and seeing things even some smells or what ever can like bring me back to that moment and I like that they kinda showed that he is dealing with that that even as old as he is I’m 26 now and I still have moments when I can get brought back to being a 12 year old

Krystal's confusion at certain phrases (this is an operating table) takes some of Frank Miller's more pretentious lines to their natural conclusion. This movie is based on the comics that made Frank Miller famous and brought a more serious tone to the comics and along with the work of Alan Moore changed DC significantly. Frank eventually lost his mind and kept writing and drawing comics. I liked Sin City by Miller.
I love this film, and the comic it’s based on!
He looked at the costume in the beginning because it was Jason's, and Grayson's before him. Jason died and Bruce retired out of depression and shame. 10 years later the storm of Gothams darkness returns in the form of a Batman who doesn't give a shit anymore, violent, angry, and wondering if he can do this anymore.

So the girls name is Carrie Kelly and she is supposedly one of the Robins, but she only shows up when Bruce is old. Sometimes she’s not even mentioned that much because she shows up so far off in the future. I wouldn’t say she’s a favorite but she’s an interesting character.
When I watched this movie for the first time I was not expecting to hear Dark Shadow's Quentin Collins(David Selby) as James Gordon, but it was certainly a welcome surprise.
-The bat that flew into the mansion and broke the window is a tribute to the comic book Year One, that's how Bruce came up with Batman
