      Very interesting and informative Dude. Thank you. I remember years ago reading about the Cannes Film Festival and a report that at several screenings of various films, one sentence appeared on the screen. "Francis Ford Coppola Presents Bram Stoker's Dracula." Apparently audiences cheered and applauded every time. That's how I felt when I heard Egger's was going to do his take on Nosferatu. The Witch is amazing and I can't think of a director more suited to a Gothic horror story. I truly expect it will be a stunner and cannot wait to see it on the Big Screen.

      @@markhernden9472 thanks and yes I'm very much with you on that. Francis was such a huge name by then, similar to hearing Kubrick perhaps or Nolan in today's standard. Although Eggers only has a few films to his name, he's a magnificent artist at what he does. I bet he's had ideas for this film brewing in his head for years. This could be his oscar chance, even though it's a horror.

    The one thing that sets the Nosferatu movies apart from a lot of other vampire movies is the atmosphere. They are creepy, disturbing and unnerving. They don’t rely on jump scares and gore to make you unsettled. Instead the constant creepiness is what makes the hair stand up on your arms. The only movie I can think of that has come out in the last 10-12 years or so and achieved something similar is the VVitch. Therefore, Robert Eggers makes perfect sense as the director for this movie.

      I'm with you. I believe he'll generate enough tension over the course of the film without the Hollywood jump scares. The witch was very unsettling 👍

      Great call. Purely psychological and terrifying without all the typical horror movie gore. It can be done as you say but certainly I don't think it would ever work for films like Alien or The Thing. Those films required the disgusting visual stimuli to be as scary as they were but a good old fashioned vampire film however 👍

      Glad to hear and hopefully you'll have another film to adore pretty soon. I also think that with some actors that appear in so many different films, you become too much used to them rather than the characters they play. Let's pray that it all feels seamless and we get a modern classic 🤞

    I would trust Eggers to do a "classical monsters" universe. If he wants to touch werewolf lore and Frankenstein, I'm willing to pay anything to see his takes. I'm surprised he didn't ask Pattinson to be in this movie.

    • @ENTERTAINtheDUDE
      @ENTERTAINtheDUDE  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never thought about that. Excellent point. I know it has an attempt with tom cruise but didn't work out. Was there another go at the minster universe recently? Eggers would dismantle anything mainstream with it and I agree that his ideas would be very unique. I especially would love to see a werewolf film done right for once.

    Music is a big part of the film, they already know whats up by the point youre highlighting (which is right at the end, as per the original and the screenplay), she spends most of the film in a state of hallucinatory delirium and they have visions of a giant nosferatu overlooking the town towards the end if i remember correctly.
    Im sure eggers will change the screenplay somewhat, it is as old as his first movie after all.

    • @ENTERTAINtheDUDE

    • @bobyers3071
      @bobyers3071 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, I already have my doubts...especially is the vampire looks like the photo of a dead rich guy and not the bald headed look of the original and Herzog's and Kinski's person. But he, Eggers is the one who generated this whole thing so there really was no danger of some generic director ruining it...even though Eggers still might. It's a pity he couldn't have have Anya Tauylo-Joy as the feamle lead as he wanted...but she was booked for a long time for the latest Mad Max sequel...or prequel as it is...I just don't think Lily Depp has the acting chops to even be interesting. We'll see...I rooting for Eggers, but I gotta admit and thought The Northman was a real dud after his first two efforts.@@ENTERTAINtheDUDE

    NO WAY you can make anything BETTER than the 1922. You can’t make it creepier than the original, being black and white silent and raw as the original
    was, it’s probably what makes it so scary. I think is a waste

    • @ENTERTAINtheDUDE
      @ENTERTAINtheDUDE  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Occasionally they do release new films in black and white but only a select few. I understand what you are suggesting and I have to agree based on older or original films that weren't just a product of their time but were genuinely scary or had a great story. Most remakes do seem to fail but they are gonna happen regardless so I'm just happy that this one has fallen into the hands of Eggers 👍

    I've never been a fan of Eggers', I find his "style" pretentious. It's like Shymalan, only less interesting. Just my two cents about it. I actually thought his style was perfect for a re-imagining of Nosferatu, but frankly, "dead nobleman" sounds like a downgrade from the previous incarnations, that were only scarcely human to begin with.
    Also, when it comes to Lily Rose, knowing her, and knowing Eggers', one suspicion makes me keep both my fingers crossed: "She's going to fuck it, isn't she"?

    • @ENTERTAINtheDUDE
      @ENTERTAINtheDUDE  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I completely understand that his style isn't gonna be agreeable with everyone. I can't ever imagine that he'll ever be making commercial films but i do get where you're coming from though. The Northman was my least favourite film although I still liked it a lot. I assumed it would be more violence and battles than what we got, so maybe that's what you are referring to? You know, the scenes that get kinda lost in themselves etc.
      I would hazard a guess that we will see different forms of the vampire but perhaps the dead nobleman is merely a resting face haha, who knows what we will actually get at this stage.
      The Lily-Rose Depp issue is where I agree with you much more. She remains the only weak link I can think of but damm I hope you're wrong :O

      In any case, yeah, I like the idea of a changing vampire, sort of, and the shot of Bill, despite being blurry, did look rather promising.
