- Hey Everyone, in this video I’m fortunate enough to sit down with one of my filmmaking heroes, Robert Eggers, the director behind recent hit film The Northman, The Lighthouse, The Witch! And we briefly talk his newest project, NOSFERATU! He’s an absolute legend, and I can’t believe I was fortunate enough to interview him, we talk shooting in Ireland, his favourite movies, and an update for his long awaited NOSFERATU!

Robert Eggers is one of my favourite filmmakers in the WORD! He made his feature debut in 2015, with The Witch, or VVitch! He then followed this with The Lightouse, and his most recent film was Viking epic The Northman! Next up he’s set to direct Nosferatu, He’s an absolute legend, and I completely understand how fortunate I am to talk with him, this is a bucket list interview, and he couldn’t have been any kinder, a true, genuine guy. I want this man to make a Werewolf film so bad. He’s the only who could use the mythos and make it actually terrifying. Sadly werewolves have never gotten a very good treat in cinema
Uh Dog Soldiers, The Howling, Universals WolfMan wasnt scary but it was a decent werewolf film.
Trick R Treat did werewolves really well but it’s not based in historical mythology tho. Still pretty scary
An American werewolf in London is an amazing movie
Matt reeves would make a great werewolf flick. So would Mike Flanagan, Ti West, Osgood Perkins, Ari Aster. A Julia Ducournau directed werewolf film would be insane. The list goes on.

The Lighthouse is the best film I've seen in many years. Can't wait for Nosferatu.

I am greatly looking forward to his next movie Nosferatu. I haven't been so eager for the release of a vampire movie since Coppola's Dracula all those years ago.
On a completely different note, Eggers reminds me of Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy.

Robert Eggers is becoming one of the most talented and creative Director's in film. The Witch outstanding and The Northman epic. Can't wait for Nosferatu!!! He reminds me of our own Neil Jordan with his avid interest in Mythology and folklore. If you haven't seen Neil Jordan's Cult Classic The Company Of Wolves l urge you to do so.

Great interview. I just love how you got a good conversation going. I love Eggers' work, and he is always interesting to listen to, but you gave him just the right starting points. Really a worthwhile conversation to listen to. Just two people who we can clearly see are invested in what they are doing, heart, brains, and all. I am so happy for you that you got to talk to one of your favourite artists, one of the greatest living film makers today, and that so early on in your career. I really hope he would be given a budget for a movie about dante's divine comedy trilogy. I really think he is the best director for those kind of films. plus I'm been wanting a movie about dante's inferno or Paradise Lost by John Milton
