    I was in love until you showed the price.

      haha we get that. It's a pretty cool camera but the price is a bit higher than what we would like to see. It would have been awesome if they could have gotten it below $2k. We've had good luck purchasing used cameras on B&H, so if you're interested in this little camera, give it a few months and there might be some available there in great condition!

    Love your non-tech reviewer review haha. Now I have a new aspirational camera to get! Also, what an honor to be included in something like this with Sony! I'm soooo excited for you guys and your channel.

      Thank you so much, Heather! It was definitely a really cool experience that we're incredibly grateful for. The new camera is awesome and definitely one to consider if you're in the market. :)

    We are really curious about possibly downsizing our rig and using this new camera. My goal is to someday be invited to camera camp, looks like such a great experience!

      Y'all would love it especially for the park days. I could see it being annoying during mid day and no view finder for your park visits. Would be a great option for your lives too... and YES. We need to get you to Camera Camp ASAP

    We are here watching because of its you two! I love this new camera sound. I don’t see a great deal of difference in the video. Not having the view finder seems weird. However what a great experience for you guys and well we are cannon people… just because that’s what we first bought. So happy you had this experience much deserved! ~Cara 😊

    I'm not an expert tech reviewer, but the audio from that internal mic sounds really good compared to most internal mics I've heard. I would even argue a little better than your current mic (sorry!) The other idea that comes to mind is that some of that external sound actually adds to the story - street noise, construction sounds...
    I've also seen a few creators starting to use Rhode's lav mics (Wireless GO II)... gives great talking audio, but nothing in the background. I guess all in all, it's like every tool - you need to know when to use it! Glad y'all had fun!

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really good point, Lucas. Personally we like a bit of background noise to give a good feel of the place, too. I've seen a lot more people using the lav mics lately. It does give good quality audio but it's a little too much hassle for the type of content we shoot or we'd consider one! Hope you're doing well up in NJ! :)

    • @chrisandsara

      While we love the new ZV-E1, the cameras you have now are awesome, too! I'd stay stuck with what you've got unless you're unhappy with them for some reason. The Sonya7vi is an especially great camera with higher megapixels which makes for better photos. The best camera is always the one you already have! :)

      @MollyFitzBrown ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisandsara I totally agree! The best is what ya got :) Plus the a7iv takes such amazing photos and the zve10 is nice as a light option for on the go. New Sony cameras are just so tempting lol. It was fun seeing the camp experience to!

    Nice video, glad you guys got to go and had a good time. I was at the first one in Montana and was impressed with the event Sony put on. They had several product engineers there and they spent a lot of time asking questions (and taking notes on everything we said) on how we used the gear, what we'd like to see, etc... I'm sure all the manufacturers do this, but Sony certainly does it well.

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Bobby! So glad you got to go to the Montana event. Hearing other creators talk about made it sound like an incredible experience! You're right in saying that Sony does the reviewing and product development. We've been so impressed by not only the gear, but the way they strive to built a community amongst the creators. Big fans of Sony over here!

    Question: can you ever use footage right out of the camera as is, or do you have to edit everything you shoot in Premier Pro or Final Cut? I’m still not sold on the added value versus overhead of giant file sizes or full frame. Educate us? [currently have A6400 & A6500, currently use GoPro & iPhone]

  • @gordon3988

    Nicely done! Honestly, most non pro folks are simply moving to something that does everything for you type of camera and this goes a long way in that regard.

    For someone like me who knows nothing about photography, can you explain what "glass" means when near the end Sara said the "glass is the most valuable piece in a camera. They do come out with new lenses but glass is timeless." Does glass means lens? Or is it part of the camera that's not the lens? Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the great video!

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Apologies for the confusion! Yes, when I referred to "glass" I was talking about lenses. ☺️ lenses are often very expensive but can usually stay with you for far longer than a camera will!

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We liked the 16-35 just because of the wide and talking head shots. That said you can't really go wrong because it's full frame.

    liked your review -- if I was going to do TH-cam I would have to start with something automated and it would be too overwhelming to have to understand how to set all the camera settings for different shots.

    • @chrisandsara

    Do you have any thoughts on the Sony 20-70 f4?

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว

      We really liked it! We usually like having the lower aperture option since we often shoot in lowlight, but if you're looking to save a bit of weight (and money), the F4 is a solid choice. Significantly lighter but still the same quality glass.

    I just don't see the compelling advantage of this vs an old GH5, Gh5ii which are way more affordable.

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest differences to us are that it's full frame and has Sony's amazing auto tracking. We used a GH5 before switching to Sony and it has been game changing! We absolutely love it and have no intentions of ever going back. But that's not to say Sony is for everyone. We always encourage people to use what works best for them! ☺️
