- North Korean can buy DVDs at a street vendor which has a flower logo at the top of its stall, the flower logo is Mokran, a company which produce DVDs in North Korea, I found some Disney DVDs in Pyongyang, the most recent movie is like the Loraks, not quite the latest, the other foreign movies are seems like from Russia.

For all the people who are wondering, all the films that are sold have been made in North Korea by Studio SEK, it's a North Korean animation studio that made a lot of animated movies for Europe and the United States. For example Marcelino, Futurama Bender's Big Score, The Simpsons Movie, Avatar: The Last Airbender...
And no, these are not Disney movies, they are "copies" made by Mondo World, an Italian company that makes its animations in North Korea.
Squirrel and Hedgehog 🐿 🦔
@Discharge Conductor He's telling the truth.
They make copies of Disney movies because they hate America
@@Lidia_Es I'm pretty sure north Korea didn't chose the scenario, they were just doing the drawings/animation asked by Mondo World
@@loloreel ok
North Korea always looks so somber and droll. Kind of like a mixture of London weather with the scenary of Russia and Eastern Europe.
And the year is 2000
@@blind_judiciary jow do u know that

you havent actually been in Russia or Eastern Europe have you? You are just playing on stereotypes... Look at Beautiful Baltic countries, or Polish and Czech castles. Such ignorance.

A bmw 5 series from the 90s was a nice car, and some people may have even given you a thumbs up as you drove by in 1995. But it's not 1995 anymore, Nobody compliments you on your 1995 5 series in 2021.
Unless it's a special 5 series like a m5 or something. But even then they'd have to be a car enthusiast to know the difference between a m5 and a normal bmw 5 series from 1995.
@@seniorspaghetti4861 I have a 1948 Tucker mint condition 001 only 22 miles on it
This is literally time travelling. As a person from Eastern Europe who grew up in similar environment, there are some things that I miss now (the little traffic, the times when shop vendors gave you their stuff for closer inspection no problem without worrying that you would steal them not paying, the incredible amount of open space in the neighborhoods, the absence of noise and light pollution...). Then there are of course many things I wouldn't miss at all. But it's nice to see there are still countries in the world that remind me of my youth.
When you realize Winnie the Pooh is legal in North Korea though it's heavily censored in China
Jajajaja 🤣
Yeah. Because I buy all of my DVD's out of a dingy metal box tucked behind some building. Oh that's right. I haven't bought a DVD in 20 years because I live in a country that has uncensored streaming services.

It is really nice to see simple video without any propaganda from any side of political spectrum. Thank you .

I thought all the movies were about the supreme leaders?
I didn't know they sold japanese anime, Disney movies, Warner bros cartoons
They are Warner Sister movies. Couple Bisney are there.
They don’t, these are appropriated copies

And the Lorax XD
It´s problably three movies in the DVD.
North Korea looks like a place that stopped in the 90s
But it’s definitely clean. No rubbish, no homeless loitering around, no drug addicts, no dog shit everywhere.

It looks like they're 50 years backward, it reminds me of when I was young and everything was halfass
Wait I thought foreign media was prohibited. Didn’t a bunch of students get arrested for having squid games on flash drives.
It was made specifically for North Korea, read the pinned comment. They're not the same as the originals.
Theres foreigners that work in north korea and live in a foreigner only compound. Ive read somewhere that theres a lot of humanitarian workers and businessmen that come to NK. But of course where they go and who interacts with them is still very limited.

7:00 When actually the store keeper nuna more interesting than the DVD movie you buy. 😍
Its good to know winnie the pooh isn't banned in NK as it is in china 😅
Especially the Winnie the Pooh DVD!! lol
How is it good to know? It’s not like it’s the actual movie.
It's not band in China Either stop watching anti communist propaganda 🙄
I wonder where that condor girl is now. I think about all the NK people when I see them in an old video
I bet all those movies are downloaded from the internet with a low resolution and have really bad aspect ratio. :D
Dark Dubbs Quite unlikely. although most if not all of these DVD's are most likely pirated, probably not from the internet, as internet use is very restricted.
Dark Dubbs nah chinese smugglers take pirated dvds into north korea most of the stuff they buy is smuggled from china or manufactured from china
It´s very probalby, don´t fogt those that are clearly recorded in a cinema and you get the shadow of other people in the middle of the screen.
If it were me I would’ve tried to buy all the discs and sneak them back home
Do they sell anime there?
Buy the interview on the black market
Also I found your Instagram account before I found your TH-cam channel. Both are awesome!

***** The parts of Russia that are right on the border of china and North Korea have a pretty high population of Asians, some mongols too.
but Russia IS in Asia, well 75% of it is. The Ural mountains that separate Europe from Asia are far in the west of Russia so only 25% of it is in Europe, but for some reason we only think of Russians as pale skinned with blue eyes

I want to ask you one thing!! I am really qurious, how can you be there, and how can you take so many video there????
+The Mercury HI, thanks for subscribe..Well, I have work here in North Korea, but now my work is finished, and already went back to my own country in Indonesia. Every Foreign residents who live in North Korea can go around freely in Pyongyang. well, its not always easy for me to take pictures and videos in NK, its depend on the poeple you met. Old people seem more suspicious when seeing foreign people with camera..but younger people are more OK with that. I used to came to the location which I want to take pics or videos before to see the conditions or the people, do they OK with me and my camera or not. But mostly NK people are friendly, so we can make friends, I can came several times to make them accustomed to my presence and then I came with my camera and they are OK
I was HIGHLY surprised to see a vast cartoon movie selection.
