I LOL'd at the water temperature comment. Moving to the midwest from central ca, I can vouch for these misconceptions about the weather and the water. I'd say beaches in LA and south of LA are more tolerable. I'll be catching up on your vids, so excuse the comment spam :)

To drive on the outside of the coast (nearest to the water) do you need to drive North to South or South to North? I hope this makes sense.

Hi, we're coming from the uk mid April via Chicago to san Francisco where we pick up our rental car as you can imagine we're a little nervous driving opposite side of the car and road. We start our drive from san Francisco... But a little concerned getting from san Francisco just to the start of pch especially driving on the freeway for the first time! Any tips? As we're driving all the way to san Diego...so that's a lot of anxious driving 😂
