  • We get a close look at Peugeot's new e-3008, an electric SUV that'll rival the Volkswagen ID.4 when it arrives on UK roads in 2024. It heads a new 3008 range, sitting above hybrid and petrol variants. Comment with your thoughts on the new design!

    I must admit to liking the look of the 22-23 3008's better than this - especially the chunky back - however it's still a nice looking car. However until we can drive one and look at it after a year's driving we won't really know (as with any newly designed car.) In Australia (where I live) we will most certainly need around 600kms of range as we do travel long distances. My old 2012 308HDi (2.0L diesel) had a range of 1200kms which meant I could travel from Sydney to the Gold Coast (Queensland) on a tank of diesel. I just bought another Peugeot but chose the 2022 3008GT HDi (2.0L diesel). It is the last of the diesels in Australia and I got it at a bargain price. So far it has been an excellent car although I haven't learned how to use all the features (and probably never will.
    Love my Peugeots!!!

      We love Peugeots too, and totally understand your requirement for extra range, given the scale of 'Straya! 🇦🇺

      Yes, we do have VAST distances to travel which raises another issue: NO SPARE WHEELs in Pugs (& many other Euros). We don't all just travel short distances to shops, school, beach etc.
      Skinny minis (80 kms/hr for 80 kms); tyre repair kits (same as skinny minis &/or, like I've experienced, the tyre's side wall split!!) & run flats :( Merde.
      How is it that many Koreans still include a SPARE WHEEL?!

      Oh, & I find those wheels do not compliment the bulky body :( More merde

      My 3008 has the 18" wheels which I found strange (ex-demo). Now I'm glad it only has the 18" (not the 19" ) wheels. Much better ride. The 19" wheels are 205's and are not suitable if you are on rougher road surfaces. Sometimes you are lucky. BTW mine has a sunroof - not a fan of sunroofs in Australia, especially in summer.@@renardargent6487

    considering most people who can afford a car like that(electric version) are either a couple, aor a family with 1or 2 children, a 4 seater is totally, fine, i dont understand why brands do 7 seaters, i mean there not much family's that have 4-5 children and can afford an electric suv like that.

    I have no doubt this is a great EV, however why the downer on VW ID products?
    VW ID vehicles are rear wheel drive which makes for a huge advantage over front wheel drive for the following reasons : Traction, electric motors make peak torque from zero rpm, so engineers have to reduce initial power by software to prevent torque-steer and wheel-slip, no such trouble for the ID range as steering is not corrupted by power, so more power can be sent to the rear wheels. Rear wheel drive also enables a much smaller turning circle than a front wheel drive car. Handling on a twisty road is superior in ID cars.
    The ID range is dedicated to battery electric drive.
    This Peugeot is an EV first which accomodates combustion power.

    • @cinch
      @cinch  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We agree the ID range is brilliant, but Sam prefers the interior of the Peugeots - and especially he prefers the infotainment systems of the Peugeot models. At least for now, anyway! 🙏🏼

      The 320hp version that's coming in the second quarter of 2024 is AWD, so that's the one you want to buy 😉Peugeots are known for having great chassis, so this should be a fun car to drive. Btw have you driven an ID4? You really cannot call that a great handling car, far from it actually...
