This was a great mower but the amount of the problems it had was more than I wanted. There were so many that I didn't address them in this video because this was mainly about a starting and running problem.

I do because I get non-ethanol gas often and I always add a small amount of stableier. Also I usually remove the emulsion tube and clean the tiny holes if possible. Great fix, and thanks.

    Greetings from Niagara Falls Canada.
Sure. I use the last bit of gas but when it comes to the end I use a funnel with a shop towel and pour through that. I try to keep my gas can clean but there’s always some debris caught in the towel.
Thanks for the videos. They’re always interesting.

As usual excellent fix. Good check on the automatic choke. I have been buying ethanol free gas for my lawn equipment for the last few years but I still check the last bit in the gas cans just in case. If I have old gas I put it in my lawn tractor which gets used a lot so should be able to run it through as long as the gas is clean with no debris. Have a great 2021

Great idea regarding pouring out the last bit of gas into a jar before putting it in the equipment. I’m going to take it a step further and pour it through a coffee filter (got that tip from James Condon’s channel) and into a jar, if it’s good then into the snow blower. Even though I always use Sta-Bil you just never know about that last little bit of gas left over from the end of the mowing season.

Best way to get wd40 in those brake cables and free them up is get some long thin hypodermic needles (27 or 30 gauge) on ebay, JB-weld them to the end of the dw40 straw, and then you will be able to spray deep inside the cable until you see it dripping out the other end. Otherwise you are just spraying all over the ends of the cable.

great advice on fuel added when it gets to bottom. I performed my spring tune-up and first time user with the auto choke system by Honda. found the turmolcoupling choke pin needed replacement due to leakage of fluid. after checking carb and all components placed mower back in service. Started after 2nd pull but as it warmed up it started missing like before service. Fuel tank cleaned and tank filter cleared. Air filter changed, plug changed and starts on first pull. after 2 minuets it goes into choke mode and runs but rough. butterfly valve seems to be opening ok and closing when cool down occurs. can't seem to locate any disconnected issues. any ideas that I may have missed. Runs like a top for the first 2 minutes and then turns rough.

do me a favor, remove the air box and filter and use large nuts or spacers

@@HomeGaragechannel OK, opened everything up, re-check made sure everything clear and moves freely, carb choke flap closed, started mower on first pull, flap closed, runs great for 1 min 48 sec and then starts missing, flap open so thermostatic choke pin working. I have this model Honda I bought at Home Depot around 2015. It starts first pull everytime but after about a year of using it the back wheels would lock up and not pull backwards. It is a very heavy mower so it was very aggravating. It caused the tread on the back wheels to wear out faster from having to pull the mower backwards with the wheels locked up.

I also saw on another video that the bushings on the driveshaft are too small causing the shaft to bind up. They took off the drive shaft and sanded it down to better fit the bushings. I didn’t feel like doing that though. If I sprayed wd 40 in the area where the bushings were, it would fix the problem for awhile but then it would come back later. I finally get tired of it and found an old commercial grade snapper mower with a Wisconsin robin engine and it’s been great so far. Even though it’s as heavy as a tank.
