    "The more you care what other people think about you in life, the more it takes away from your life and is just detrimental to you overall..." - Wow... best advice ever, not just for Vlogging, but for life itself. Very very well said!

    Another trick would be to imagine yourself as a journalist covering an event or a particular location. That way, you will believe in yourself and you will put the priority of this video above what people would think about you. :)

      Love this tip! In fact, if someone does ask what you're doing, you can always describe yourself as a journalist rather than a TH-camr.

    Hi Gemini and Martin. In Russia when I tried to making vlogging people everywhere asking me what I’m doing and why I’m shooting them. I go to the car service, all men asked why I’m making a video there. I go to the post office all people watched me and doing the same. Maybe in US is another mentality and you feel more free of yourself doing that. Thank you for a video and tips. 😊 will practice doing the video more often.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very good point -- the location where you vlog probably matters a lot. In the USA, especially on the west coast near the cities, it's not a big deal to most people. But I can see if being seen as strange or attention grabbing in another country. If you're faxing this, it's best to try to vlog in a less crowded area (ie an alley or quiet street), or learn to embrace the attention and making those people part if your video (Bald and Bankrupt and Harald Baldr do this very well).

    • @romansergeev

      @@Gemini_Connect Hi Gemini, thanks for a message. It's a simple idea, but I didn't used that. I will try to vlog with the less people on the streets and quiet places first! ❤

    Beginner's mind. This is such an important concept, not just to be a better teacher or communicator, but to appreciate yourself as well. Don't take for granted your experience.
    I'm 95% equipped to record my first video removed from my PC, but that's 5% away from never doing anything. Beginner's mind. A beginning doesn't have to originate in ignorance, it can be deliberate.
    I know you review technology as a business, but this was an important philosophical concept that I recognize and appreciate. Beginner's mind. I'm not ugging the book, just know how you got there.
    I just checked, my GoPro has no setting for any of this, it's just trying to record at every click.

    Very nice video thank you. I have the GoPro hero 9 as well and will be using that as my main Vlog camera instead of the iPhone as I believe it’s easier to work with in port production. I did have a few questions. 1. What settings do you use for vlogging? 2. How far out do you record and post to keep content rolling with limited time in between videos? 3. What do you use to edit your videos for final production? I have premier pro on my pc, and with my phone I use iMovie. Thanks in advance.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions. Our recording schedule on the vlog channel is sporadic. We film whenever we travel, which is usually at least 1x a month, or as many as 4+/month. Each trip will generate at least 1-4 videos per week of travel. We edit them with the intent to post a new video each week, and the videos are usually on a delay from real time.

    16th Aprub. I too is easily intimidated when vlogging in public because of my being an introvert. But this video sure gives me that Boost of Confidence. Thank you guys! Stay safe Always!!! 💖💝💖💝💖

    • @Stevenafoe
      @Stevenafoe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol. Same here, fellow introvert. Started vlogging while cycling. Found several places where i am ‘alone’ of some sort, en then start vlogging. After i have done that a couple of times, it became easier. When camera (small one) is mounted on the bike, hardly anyone notices it, and you can do it with people around, they all think you are handsfree calling someone. But no remarks or weird looks. Big camera’s are easily noticed ofcourse. Small gopro? Only noticed by gopro fans. Just try it. Big camera’s with mic’s and dead cats on top is still a no go for me.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I (Suzi) and pretty introverted too, but practicing vlogging in public definitely makes you more confident over time. You can also ease into it by starting with your phone. Imagine you're Face Timing a close friend and speak to your phone camera that way.

    • @Stevenafoe
      @Stevenafoe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gemini_Connect Hi Suzi, you guys don’t come across like introverts! I myself have the added problem that english is not my first language. So, besides sometimes needing to find the right words, it’s still weird to talk english in public. But i am getting over it step by step; i assume listeners will understand that english is not my first language from the start, and are ok with it. It’s a big world . Introverts are smart people 😁 and will get the job done… in the end.

    I don't know how people can speak concisely and clearly in a monologue without a script. It's not possible for me. I have to speak the lines several times.. and that feels even weirder to do in public! 😆 But I will try. Thanks for the encouragement.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Being clear and concise is definitely hard, but the more you practice, the easier it gets. Another tip is to imagine you're FaceTiming a friend or family member, or that you're making the video as if you're speaking to them. That helps you keep things conversational.

      Totally understand! I still find it especially awkward in front of family and actually prefer blogging in front of people I don’t know (odds are I’ll never see them again). Start talking to camera on your own with no one around - that’s often the hardest thing to do - and then add people to the mix as your comfort grows.
