Thanks so much for the comment! I will definitely plan for that. Celiac can make you crazy esp in the beginning.

Hi Jessica, I did not forget about your comment. I plan to do a video about how I do the our kitchen sooon! We have some Hawaii travel videos in the pipeline and then I hope to do some GF content for Thanksgiving time. It was our first time in HI post my daughters Celiac diagnosis and it was soooo hard finding safe food for her. Hang in there. It's not easy with celiac.

Thank you for your quick reply. I ask because I have been seeing those combined diagnoses more. I watch your channel as I have type 2 and what looks like a severe intolerance to gluten. But my celiac test came back negative.

Interesting, yeah a lot of people have a combo of thyroid, celiac and type 1. I am actually hypo-thyroid and I do feel better when I avoid gluten. Follow your instincts. Even if you don’t have celiac, if you don’t feel good after gluten, you may have some kind of intolerance. The immune is quite a mystery, you know your body best. 💕

I need to get the schär pizza crust 🤤

It’s pretty good and then you can top it with whatever.

@@SuperCaliListic good idea my crust I was buying was a grocery store brand but they stopped carrying it so if the schär pizza crust is as good as you say then I will definitely be getting it.

The BEST pizza crust IMO is Against the Grain. It's got the best mouth feel. Unfortunately, it's kinda expensive, but definitely worth it for an occasional treat.

I also love schär products and normally would buy there bread , but now the schär bread is $9.00 Canadian and it is more expensive than every other bread I’ve tried and liked. The other breads I like only cost $6.00 Canadian , if it wasn’t for the price I would buy schär bread in a heartbeat, it’s the best tasting bread out of all the ones I have liked. The artisan multigrain bread is my favourite from schär and it’s healthier then most gluten free white breads.

Yes, GF is soooo expensive. I saw a GF flatbread recipe on IG a while back, it looked pretty easy, I need to go search for it, because it would definitely be cheaper to make some flatbread and freeze it then to keep buying GF bread from the store. 🤑🤑🤑

@@SuperCaliListic I buy my gluten free bread sometimes when I have not got around to making my bread , but when I have time I try to make my bread when ever possible, I love my bread recipe, I am always open to other gluten free bread recipes , I want to find a gluten free bread recipe that is just as easy as my bread recipe , but also just as healthy as the artisan multigrain schär bread. Plus an added bonus you save a lot of money if you make your own gluten free bread, that is why I try to make my own bread whenever possible.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW YOU DO KITCHEN TO AVOID CROSS CONTAMINATION, I AM 60 AND LIVING IN A HOUSE WITH 4 OTHERS

    • @SuperCaliListic
      @SuperCaliListic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Oh wow, that is really tough. In our house we have a countertop that is completely gluten free and a gluten free toaster and then anything we use to cook for our daughter we run through the dishwasher. Maybe have your own dedicated utensils and pots and pans that only you use. We also have a dedicated gluten free toaster for gluten free bread. And a dedicated butter. Hopefully your roommates understand to be careful.

Hey Calis! I found a very tiny disclaimer on the Biena Chickpea snacks that says they are produced in a facility where gluten may be present. I am so disappointed. I wanted to let you all know. I have been doing this for years and some of the products are really tricky for ppl with Celiac.

I am hoping my daughter changes the way she eats with time. It’s hard to do gluten free with a kid who hates veggies. 😔 Wait does bacon have gluten? My daughter loves bacon, it did not occur to me that it would have gluten…geez

Thank you so much for this comment. It really didn’t even occur to me that bacon would have gluten and I have been doing this for 2 years now. 😭 it looks like Applegate and boar’s head gluten free can be trusted. The other brands I did not recognize…

Yes. Bacon does have gluten. Alot of other meats do too. I know right. I was baffled by it. We have HEB here in Texas. A grocery store. If you look in the organic meats isle you will find alot of gluten free meats. I was so surprised too

@@jimjohnson705 oh wow, my daughter doesn’t like meat so I guess it has not been an issue because of her picky tastes. Wow. This is really a heart break. Celiac is sooo hard.

I am curious, when meat says “gluten free” like the salami we buy our son at Trader Joe’s - do you trust it? Or do you think there could be contamination the brand is not disclaiming?
