You can use a PH8A sized filter which is 3x larger (1988 Ford 5.0 filter). Much better than the too small stocker.
Too small according to who? Toyota engineers or some random person using the wrong filter? I'll stick with all oem stuff and get 500k out of my engine. Hopefully you get close to that much too...
So, the hard part is getting the oil filter wrench in to remove and install. Why doesn't he show that part ?

Forget the oil filter wrench. Tape a flat strap to the filter, wrap it a few times and pull

Removing the oil filter was a bitch .I thought I was going to see how he did it ..I own my Tacoma since 1996 so I know how pain in the butt to remove the oil filter 😤

You need to remove the cap first so the engine used oil drain . How many quarts of new oil and what type you need ?
Drains just fine without taking the cap off. You can if you want to but it isn't necessary. 5.7 Quarts of 5w-30. I also recommend full synthetic. Thanks for watching!

whats the difference between 5w30 and 10w30? ive heard 5w30 is for colder temperatures and a thinner viscosity, and lubricates the engine faster during start up and is easily pushed through the engine....where as 10w30 is for warmer weather and is thicker, so it takes more time to be pushed throughout the engine.

3000 is the normal amount of miles for conventional oil.
You didn't show what a pain in the ass it is to remove the oil filter without making a mess all over your suspension and crossmember. Not happy Jan.
