I just got this monitor and D2 is my main game. agree that it looks fantastic but noticed the HUD and other areas look dull and muted now while on HDR 1000. Do you know if thats normal?

@@wdeeman If the content is 16:9 you'll have black bars, 21:9 full no bars. you'll get used to it.

Great review, and monitor looks nice -- Does it auto switch between the input ports - I use monitor for both work laptop and then my gaming PC - pc into DP, and work into hdmi. when I turn off the laptop will the monitor auto detect the other port when I turn the PC on or do you have to switch it manually?

What do you think about the color flinging? I've been considering buying this one for a while, but I'm unsure if the flinging will make it unsuitable for photo and video editing
I can see it a little on text. For video and photo or gaming don’t see it at all. In saying that I’m not a big photo editor.

Got my self a 29um68-p 2560x1080 75hrz ips panel about 6-5 years old. I can't wait to get my hands on a 3440x1440 144+ fps oled monitor 😍 going to have to wait for next gen releases
I have never had this high-end of a monitor. It would have been nice to show how to connect all the cables since I do not know the difference between the connector cables other than the power. All my monitors have had one connection besides the power.

It’s called wallpaper engine. You get it on steam. It costs a few bucks but a lot of live wallpapers to choose from
I just got mine, haven't set it up yet. Do you only connect HDMI to the GPU? It came with a whole bunch of cables, and I'm confused...

Hey mate, you using this as your daily machine? how's it going so far, noticing any issues (screen flickering, burn-in..) ? Great video btw!
Hey, yeah this is my main monitor. No issues with flickering or burn in so far. The 3 year warranty gives me piece of mind. The screen also does a pixel refresh after every 4 hours of use which I think will help long term.
@@FPtechtalk if you playing competetive/multiplayer game, how you know that monitor wants pixel refresh ? just some window pop up ? it is not disturbing ?

How about using it daily to work in Excel / Outlook / Word / general browsing? Any issues compared to IPS panels?
Has been good for these activities so far. Not my typical use case though. I would say the pixel layout on IPS does make it a little better if that’s your main use.
That’s an expensive monitor just to type on. I guess if money is no object, go for it.
Did you use HDMI or display port?! My display port didn’t work for some reason
For pc I use display port. Hopefully you get it working

Not for me in any noticeable way.
Leave Eco mode turned on (it doesn't affect display performance) and it will only kick on the fan when it's needed the most.
Man 5:08 they are still placing bubble wrap paper against the screen. That is what's causing micro scratches when you shine a light against the screen.
Can't wait for mine. Ordered Monday at 11.45pm. Says estimated delivery date is Wednesday. Hope so!

@@FPtechtalk cheers dude. I've been hearing that the panel doesn't have a polarising layer. So that if the room is too bright the blacks look grey. Just curious how bright the room needs to be for this to happen. I always game curtains closed and I can change my room brightness.
It does play better in a shaded or darker room but this is the way of all gaming monitors really. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It works well in any light outside of direct sun light

So far as a gaming monitor it’s the best I have used. No issues with it. In saying this I also have a lg C1 which I have gamed on and it’s really the oled that makes the difference as gaming on that is just as enjoyable
I love this monitor but I really hate the two loud fans inside of it. Had to return first one because of insanely loud fan and the second one is not that good either. So premium feeling product but they put worst fans they could find and made idiotic fan curves for them..
How many months ago did you get your second one? I’m hearing people say the newer ones being sent out have quiet fans but I haven’t tested myself as I’m afraid to buy one for this very reason

Excellent video! Can you dive more into “pixel refresh message dialogue box “ in your next video, and what to do with it? It randomly pops up for several seconds or more while gaming and is very annoying!

At the moment I just ignore it as don’t want to disable in options. It’s runs then when I power off pc
I ended up selecting “do not show this” option last time it popped up, and has not seen it ever since. Wondering, if it still is doing the refresh thing periodically when I turn off the monitor…
I think that’s ok. I need to look again the next time the message pops up to see if I can select that
As long as you have Eco mode turned on, it will put the monitor in standby instead of going off completely. It should automatically do the pixel refresh by then.

i wonder if this monitor suffers from motionblur cause it uses freesync?
I have only been using gsync so far. It has a gsync module and its the clearest gaming I’ve experienced. Oled is great for this.
@@FPtechtalk ah ok yes... my mistake... i was thinking of the upcoming samsung G8SB with also is a 3440 1440 QD-oled monitor but that only comes with freesync.
I'm happy they didn't pull a Cr@pple and charge $999 for the stand which is far superior to that one apple sold 🤦♂️
Also @5:15 did you notice the bubble wrap leaving a imprint on the screen mine has this.
they just made it even better by simply removing the Nvdia tax hardware. Can be firmware updated now, more HDR modes, more control settings like hue and contrast lol, and better xbox support.

I would recommend using hdr 400 true black since it’s overall brighter and has more punch too.

@@FPtechtalk trust me i felt the same but once i reverted back to true black hdr 400 i never even thought of going back to hdr1000. Also boost the hdr in windows and the contrast by 5/10 on the monitors osd. Surprised you waited long because it came within a week for me but enjoy either way👍🏻.
Revert between both of them in game and you will notice that hdr1000 just has so much abl well as hdr400 was consistent and brighter.

a big nope is that glossy panel for me
I find it quiet good. It’s not super glossy and less reflection than my lg c1.
Obviously glossy gets you better colors vs matte lol matte washes the colors hard
its 120 hz from hdmi 2.0 not 100.
👍 dp is all I’m using. Still wouldn’t recommend for console gaming

My hdr is very washed out!
I’d say there is a setting wrong somewhere. Double check your windows hdr and monitor settings
Take a flashlight and go around the corners of the display.
The bubble wrap is damaging the oled coating. Mine had micro scratches too.
I noticed that when the sun was shining on my display.
To much problems with this first generation monitor.

Sorry to hear. I didn’t notice anything to be concerned about with the panel. I’d agree protective film would of been a good idea. Loving the monitor so far.
